I've tried both this location and the one in Flushing off Northern Blvd, and this location isn't as busy as the one in Flushing. After a hike or going to the gym I like to come here, justifying my unhealthy eating with that fact that I exercised that day. Lol. I always order the signature soy garlic chicken wings and usually do half of that with the spicy soy garlic. Delish! Rated 2 stars mainly because of the hostess. Otherwise would have rated the experience 4.5 stars. TLDR: The food & service was great! However, the hostess/front of store was a hot mess. We ended up wasting 30+ minutes to be seated for no reason, and could have potentially wasted more time. Some friends and I decided to go to Mad for Chicken on a Friday night and signed up for the waitlist through Yelp. When we arrived we were still 7th in line, but I decided to check in with the hostess so they knew we were there. When I was checking in with her, I was told that they do not offer the option to join the waitlist through Yelp and that I would have to join the waitlist again. I was fine with signing up again, but I asked if she could double check the waitlist in their system just in case because on the app it definitely stated I was in the waitlist at the Bayside location, and even what place in line I was. She ended up finding my party and basically said "oh... I didn't know we did that"... After waiting a few minutes inside, we realized the resturaunt was pretty chilly and asked if we would be able to sit outside instead. The hostess said we can request to be seated outside once it was our turn to be seated. I double checked to make sure that the waitlist we were on was for both indoor dining & outdoor dining, and was assured it was. Fast forward about 30-40 minutes of waiting, I realized we weren't progressing up the list very quickly and was still 3rd in line. I also realized that none of the people seated before us were escorted to the back for outdoor seating. I asked another worker in the front to double check that the waitlist I was on, was for both indoor and outdoor dining, and she said she wasn't sure so she asked the hostess. The same hostess I asked 30+ minutes ago, and this time she said "Honestly Im not sure. Let me double check". She double checked and apparently there were plenty of seats available outside because we were seated right away and there were empty tables in the back... Once we were seated everything was great. Our server Oreo was super friendly & attentive. We ended up getting the nachos & kimchi fries, which were very very good, and the mac & cheese, which was super creamy but not really flavorful. The chicken, as always, was super crisp and juicy, but also felt a bit underseasoned. Overall a good experience, except with all the issues trying to get seated! The wait staff here is definitely slower and needs more training: my waitress informed us that the chicken will take 25-30 mins to prepare, which ofc as a frequent patron of MFC I was totally fine with the wait. HOWEVER, after 45 mins has passed no food was brought to us. After inquiring the status of our order, the waitress went to the kitchen to check. When she came out though, she did not come back to our table and proceeded to help at other tables. After waiting another 5ish mins we asked her what was up only for her to tell us she forgot to put in our order in the first place and the kitchen is working on it now. She was apologetic and all but I really did not like how she tried to avoid us when she realized she messed up and did not give us an update on our order after we asked about it. After speaking to the manager they ended up taking one food item off the check for us and brought out our food. Literally our total wait time from when we ordered to when we got our food was an hour. Now onto the food: 1. The free popcorn they give out which should be similar to the MFC on northern was not. The flavor profile is similar but it was 5X more salty. But it's free so whatever I guess right? 2. The fried chicken: the soy garlic was ok but the spicy chicken was definitely not seasoned as well and again WAY TOO SALTY. 3. Crab salad was not bad. I've been here twice with groups. We drank no alcohol but it has a full bar where the former tenant, Pizzeria Unos, had one. The food was good, though at Bayside prices. If you are prepared for this you will have a good meal. Because of Covid social spacing the place is huge but feels empty. Paradoxically this makes each table more intimate within the region of its own group. Couples sit in booths all around the inner circumference. Likely appreciating the solitude generally unavailable in a popular restaurant. Weekends some tables are in the street, not in some little enclosed area. Bell Blvd shuts the streets to produce a pedestrian mall and MFC takes advantage. There is a parking lot which is a huge advantage since parking is generally awful here, and getting even worse with the street closures. As for the food, there are Korean inspired dishes such as Kimchi fried rice but the Scallion Chicken is great. Boneless, sweet, reminds of a Chinese "General Tso's" chicken. The french fries are worth ordering as a side on their own. The nachos were a tower, a meal for two in itself, very flavorful and messy. You really need the napkin dispensers that were located at either end of our long table. The Korean infusion in many dishes really works. It's the chicken you know and love but twisted just a bit. The wings and drumsticks are also quite good, garlicky and available spicy. This place does have a small meat-heavy menu. A few sandwiches round out things. Don't bring a vegetarian, there just aren't enough options. Party of six with tip and a lot of food (no alcohol) was $170. And a sandwich and plenty of wings came home. That's pretty good. We ordered chicken and waffles, regular fries (but they decided to change it to truffle fries AND charge us for that), medium boneless wings & two mojitos. This is usually our go-to MFC. We normally have a great experience when coming here. Today was absolutely terrible, to say the least. Our first server brought us our chicken and waffles and fries first. The chicken and waffle were cold and tasted as if it had been sitting there in he kitchen waiting to be ordered. The fries were cooked fine. However, we ordered regular fries but instead were given truffle fries. The medium boneless wings We ordered came out 10 minutes after and from a different server. Ours had disappeared by this point. We then ordered two mojitos from our new server. Strawberry and mango. He had to double check to see if they had mint for the mojitos. He came back to give us the green light for the mojitos. We received our mojitos a few minutes later, and our original server was back to give us our drinks. They tasted absolutely horrible. After 2-3 sips, we decided it was not worth the stomachache they were about to cause. They tasted watered down and nothing close to what a mojito should taste like. After about 30 minutes of just sitting and being unattended and both of our servers were nowhere to be found, we stopped a female server to see if maybe she could possibly give us our check. She agreed to bring us our check. After watching her walk around for a couple mins and talk to fellow staff and customers, my bf decided to get up and request our check at the register so he could pay it right then and there. We had extra wings left over that we wanted to at least take home with us, but we were never given a to-go box. We left them behind with the drinks. The spot is huge - it's the old Pizza Uno spot. They menu is small but you're only there for the chicken. It's delicious. It's crispy and tasty and delicious. If you like super hot/spicy, then ask for it. There are only two flavors - garlic soy, which is delicious and the garlic soy (super) spicy. The truffle fries are interesting. The French onion soup, well let's just say that's not the place for it. My son orders French onion soup no matter where we are if it's on the menu but it just wasn't a good fit. Wanted to try Mad for Chicken. I ordered 20 piece spicy marinated wings to go and told me it would take 30 mins to be picked up. Prices were on the high side costing $26 with taxes. Went home and when we opened the wings were extremely smaller than other places I tried and it only had only 18 pieces! Missing two wings! Someone clearly didn't count or may have took two out. Extremely disappointed with the price I had to pay that the portions were small and were missing two pieces. Not a good first impression. Also I did not want to go back and get the correct amount because the day I ordered were during a snowstorm. Not worth the time. My boyfriend and I came here and ordered wayyy too much food. As a result, we tried many of the starters and the chicken. The bonesless chicken and wings were outstanding! The breading and the sauces on the chicken were delicious!! Our favorite sauces were the soy garlic and spicy soy garlic. The spicy sauce was the perfect amount of heat. My bf also tried the honey BBQ, but didn't like the hot and spicy sauce. The truffle fries are also delicious! A third item we enjoyed was the fried pork dumplings. Everything seemed freshly made! First off, I love the chicken there and I was craving their food in a huge way!  It's unfortunate that I had to take a couple of stars away from them. I placed two orders for take out. One order was for the Parmesan Fries and the 10 Soy Garlic Drums, the other, a salad and the 15 drums ( 1/2 & 1/2 Sauce). I asked that they make sure they were packed separately, they were going to 2 places. When I got there, I had to wait another 10/15 mins for my order to be ready. The order finally came out and it looked like they bagged the orders as if it was one order so I asked if they had separated the order properly, they're going to different places. Back to the kitchen the order went then back it came out. I was told it was separated in the right bags. I took a look and there were two boxes (fries & chicken) in the smaller bag so I assumed (silly me) that the order was correct. Well, the kitchen staff/packer messed up. I gave the 10 piece order to a friend who wanted to try the chicken, but there were only 6 pieces in the box. What they did was pack the 15 piece in one box and the 10 piece in 2 boxes (huh?), and then put the box with the other 4 pieces in the wrong bag! Btw, all the condiments were in the other bag so it was BS that the order was "rechecked" in the kitchen. Please note that the most updated menu is here on Yelp (THANKS, YELPERS!) not on their website (wth?!?). We wanted some items from their menu on their website but they were no longer available. Because if you aren't a hater, then Mad for Chicken does it just as good as anyone else and with all the standard flavors as all the other joints. This Queens originated-and-based chain are definitely making their mark throughout the borough. It is a welcomed addition to the Bayside area. I mean Asians LOVE their Korean Fried Chicken and anyone that has experienced it, Asian or not, definitely know the amazing-ness of what this popular Korean staple has to offer. Mad for Chicken on Bell Blvd accomodates a large seating area in the back and also has a very roomy availability on the inside as well but don't be deceived. The popularity and hype will be there for a while so if you have a mid to large group, make sure you get ready to wait if you come during prime time. I would arrive early or during non-peak times. I've been here a dozen times already and I would recommend their 'Mad Watermelon' which is their Soju Watermelon drink that comes in a watermelon. Fills 4 cups with no problem. Similar to what Pocha offers in Ktown in Manhattan if you're familiar with that. If you want a cocktail, the grapefruit/Soju based Baysider is a delicious drink I would recommend as well. If you want to know what to get to eat, you come here for the Fried Chicken. Period. The truffle fries are a great compliment. So happy that my favorite fried chicken place has opened up a closer location in the heart of Bell Blvd! It's currently soft opening and providing only outdoor dining and takeout during this time. My bf and I tried their outdoor dining spot located in the back plaza alley way. The tents provided enough shade and all the tables were spaced pretty far apart which is very important during this pandemic. The only con is that there might be cars/trucks passing by to deliver goods to the restaurant so you might encounter some noise or car smells ^^' The food never disappoints! We got our usual half and half wings with parmesan fries. The food was delicious and didn't take too long to come out :) The chicken usually takes sound 30-45 minutes to be served because they fry it twice! Since the place offered a discount promotion and I heard good reviews, I figured that I'd try what they're popular for: the boneless soy garlic chicken wings. The boneless soy garlic chicken wings had a thin, but crispy, batter that tasted like it only had corn starch & seasonings on it. I feel like it should have come with extra soy garlic sauce since the sauce seemed dry on the coated chicken. Overall, it tasted average. I actually liked the Mac 'n cheese with the bugolgi meat (thinly cut steak pieces for those who don't know), despite the negative reviews here. So I LOVE THIS PLACE. I frequented the flushing location many times and im glad that this one is even easier to get to with more parking. In the past month I've been here at least 3 times and exposed new friends to the joy that is Korean fried chicken. The chicken is phenomenal and consistent. When I found out they were opening a MFC on Bell I was very excited to have this gem a bit closer to home. From the moment they launched with outdoor dining only, they were spot on. The lines they had were well worth it because the food is always on point and another thing that most places don't get right is the service, but I've been here many times and the staff is just wonderful and always are so attentive. Their indoor dining is also an A+ because the decor and ambiance is perfect. It's a great place for a chill date night or a friends night out or heck a place to treat yourself for a solo night on your own. I was super impressed with their drinks too. The beers on tap are always on rotation and their Grape soju tastes like a grape soda for adults, be super careful and don't let the deliciousness take advantage of you or you'll be wobbling on your way out. I do recommend the beer tower if you're with a group because apart from being a sight to look at it gets you the most bang for your buck. The avocado salad is light and packs the right flavor because that dressing is liquid gold. The kimchi fried rice always hits the spot with the perfectly fried egg on top to coat the rice with before serving. And lastly, the chicken is always crispy and juicy. I love both the boneless and bone in options. If you're feeling a little frisky risky try the spicy soy garlic option which packs a punch a la Mike Tyson 2020. Mad for Chicken is one of the newest additions on Bell Blvd offering Korean-style fried chicken. If you haven't had Korean-style fried chicken in the past, it's just a double fried chicken wing. Aside from their signature fried chicken, the menu is also lined up with several other food choices that cater to every person's taste buds cravings. Personally, I've only had Korean-style fried chicken once or twice at Bonchon, a competitor of Mad for Chicken. Bonchon does have a location in Bayside, but it's primarily for take-out. Mad for Chicken setup a fantastic outdoor area during the pandemic. On my last visit, I ordered their wings, salad, and dumplings. All three dishes were delicious and the service was top notch especially for a soft opening. This is a great place to bring a large groups. My only piece of advice would be to redesign the outdoor area in the back of the restaurant so customers don't have to view Rite Aid's garbage even if it's just a movable temporary fence. Would I return to Mad for Chicken in the future? Definitely! They did a great job redesigning the old Pizza UNO's and the food is great. read more

First off, lychee martinis are sooooooo good I'm not even gonna rave about the chicken because it's always the BOMB! We ordered a salad and Toppokki and it came out so quickly! Decent but could be absolutely be better. My boyfriend and I have been to this location a few times and ordered out a couple times including tonight. Tonight we ordered ginger beers and also asked specifically for blue cheese on the side for our wings. They didn't give us blue cheese.. and they also gave us ginger ale instead of ginger beer. It's minor details like this that can really make a difference. As far as our experience dining in - the ambiance is nice, food is generally good and there are no mistakes made with the order, unlike with takeout. However the attentiveness of the waiters could definitely be improved. Each time we've dined in they basically take your order bring your food and never come back not even once to make sure everything's ok. Whether it's just to ask for ketchup or especially when it comes to getting your check. Every time we've asked for a check it never came. We would look around and notice our waiter just hanging out joking around with the other workers (which there is nothing wrong with that) but when your table has asked you for a check more than 30 minutes ago..... not ok) I had to get up and walk over to remind our waiter. On a separate occasion after trying to wave them down for a while... they finally came with our check and apologized and said they forgot.
