I have to say the food is tasty and high in quality. The restaurant has a spacious and welcoming atmosphere. And the service is timely with kind hostess. I will say it is on the pricey side. The taste and quality is barely hitting the price. I ordered (pick up) half a chicken and 2 crispy chicken sandwiches and that came up to $50+. This is the only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars.
I always have a good experience when going to Pelicana and this place was no exception! I had their boneless fried chicken with honey garlic, fries, and their cream pasta with shrimp.
There are so many Korean Fried Chicken in the Queens area. This is the newer Pelicana Chicken in the Bayside area and the restaurant is pretty clean. It is in a busier location so there isn't a parking lot so you would have to park and walk to the restaurant most likely. The chicken was good but for a full chicken, there isn't a soy option for the day that I visited. I've gotten it for take out and it was prepared quickly.
Pelicana has reached a new level of Korean fried chicken wings for me! The honey soy garlic and cheese are one of the best flavored wings I've ever had. The bulgogi fried rice is just as amazing & even the kimchi fried rice was good even though I'm not a fan of kimchi. The truffle fries are, well, they're truffle fries, so AMAZING! I love that they have soju, they made me a believer of strawberry soju even though I never liked soju before. Definitely check out this restaurant! It's a MUST!
Decided to give this spot a try. Place was clean. Staff was attentive. Food was good. Chicken was tender. Soup was spicy. Will be back.
Great place to go for Korean Fried Chicken! Lots of space for big parties. I really liked their chicken because it had great taste and texture. We got the platter and an extra order of wings, split between 4 people, and it really filled us up. The space is kept very clean and the staff was great! We came during lunch on a Sunday and the seats filled up pretty quickly. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and several of the orders were incorrect. I don't blame the staff, because they were working their tails off and corrected the errors. But the manager should hire more staff during busy hours.
Lots of good bar eats here and brunch finds besides the fried chicken. I dig the atmosphere and the spacious tables. Was here with a small group of five but I tell ya, we ordered plenty. Waitress was really nice and patient with us when ordering given we had a few questions, so thanks for that. The fried chicken platters did not disappoint. Good sized portions for sharing and it's a big menu actually, just the fried chicken menu was two pages. The original was the only choice on this visit as the crispy was not available. Better luck next time. Soy garlic flavor was the majority choice so I can't speak for the other flavors. You can have it on the side if you don't want it mixed in. The boneless chicken was tender and hearty. The wings were really good as well. I still prefer crispier but as I said, it was not available. We ordered tons of other dishes given my group of picky eaters: - the sunny up fried eggs and spam, it was brunch so you know I had to. And who can resist spam on a hot grill? Yummy. - Mac and cheese, yep, it's the perfect side dish to the chicken. - pasta with red sauce; wished the sauce was a little thicker and the noodles were a little over cooked for my taste - side of fries, those were great as expected. Served on the side. - side of just fried eggs - ordered it to share because we all love eggs and we just each wanted some. No fighting, there was enough for all. - Bugolgi quesadilla with guac and chips, it was a nice savory dish We were given some complimentary pickled radish for the table with each platter. Drinks were great. I need to return on a Wednesday for ladies night! Half off food! Great music played overhead.
My mom wanted to come here since it opened. We finally brought here here yesterday for her burthday. She truly enjoyed herself and loved everything. The crispy batter on the wings was very tasty. The Level 3 for sweet and spicy was way too spicy for me, but it still amazing taste. Everything else also a nice sauce flavor. We ordered a variety of dishes and we were not dissapointed. The spicy beef dumplings were delicious that it was gone in a flash. My mom enjoyed the sides of coleslaw eith the corn in it. We forgot to tell them at the beginning that it was my mom's birthday as you get a free chicken on your bday. We mentioned it at the end when we asked for a dessert to sing happy birthday. We were told they dont serve dessert. Bummer. The staff were so kind to give a birthday discount of $45 since we didnt get the bday chicken as well as a round of some mixed cocktail shots. That was awesome gesture. We'll definitely be coming back.
It's a great location for a large group of families and friends. I reserved a table of 18-20 people for a college reunion. The staff were very accommodating to us. There were ten kids ranging from 4 to 14. The boys were super active in the restaurant but the staff were very empathetic. Great food plus great reunion creates life time memories.
Staff especially Liz was amazing. Food was fresh and delicious. Very hip place to eat. solid atmosphere.
Went here on a date and had a nice experience. The music was pleasant. The ambiance was laid back but cute and clean. The place was a bit loud but not at the level that you can't have a conversation. The menu had a lot of variety and the prices were reasonable compared to many spots in manhattan. We were there for hours and at first they kept bothering us to order quickly, but once we ordered they left us alone. The service was good, they made sure to fill our water. Although they didn't have their own parking you can easily find a spot on the street. I would definitely return.
Had a great time with family and friend. Very bar like environment with the TV all playing sports. Service was great and prompt. My favorite food was their fries and great choice of dipping sauce. Their fries are crispy on the outside and very pillowy and soft on the inside. We ordered multiple fried chicken with different dipping sauce. They all came out good nice and crispy. We also ordered the Jigae and Shrimp Pasta in Rose sauce. They are a little on the sweet side but we definitely enjoyed the flavor and highly recommend it. read more
Got there on a Sunday 4 pm with reservation of party of 30. Not enough air conditioning. Food was good. Price is above average. Service has room for improvement. We did reservations ahead so they should have scheduled more service staff. read more

Ate here for the second time already. This time I went with parents, sister and cousin for dinner after work. We had all shared together the cheese fries and 2 different spicy levels (both Level 2 and Level 3) of the whole chicken combo. The Level 3 was definitely spicier than the Level 2 that I can definitely eat it and take the heat lol. The service there was also attentive and friendly that we couldn't agree more. Came here on a Wednesday night at around 10 and the place had a few other occupied tables, but more than enough space for our party of 3. As we ate, the place slowly got busier, so I'd say this was a solid spot for a late dinner. The location is a little small as it didn't have too many tables and thus only had one server. She was attentive enough and seemed pretty busy as the night continued - it was hard to get her attention and she wasn't too friendly a lot of the time as when we asked for things, she seemed more annoyed/tired than anything which was a little off-putting, but understandable given she was the only person serving. The menu has a good variety of foods that pair well with fried chicken which is their specialty. The tteokbokki was hard to find, but we were happy when we finally found it (the name on the menu wasn't clear). We got fries, tteokbokki, and thirty wings for three of us which was a good amount of food with a bit of chicken as leftovers. The chicken was pretty delicious and the wings were large in size; I do wish it came with more radish. The tteokbokki had a good variety of ingredients and once it finished cooking in front of us, it was delicious and filled us up easily. The Cajun fries were also pretty solid and came with more than enough sauce which was nice. Overall, I'd gladly come back in the future for fried chicken and their other dishes again; don't expect amazing service, but for what things are priced at the quality of food, this Pelicana is very solid! read more
Finally checked out this new location. It is much bigger and better in terms of space and ambiance. My friend and I ordered Half Chicken Combo A and a pitcher of Sapporo. I also got a cocktail from the highball menu. Overall the food was delicious and the service was fine. read more
Imagine, if you will, your in your friends basement and his or her parents bring down some very tasty food. It's not gourmet; not even close, but given the circumstance it does the trick. Welcome to this restaurant. The chicken wings were thoughtfully prepared and my extra crispy ones were brought piping hot. Chicken was moist and the sauces were ordered on the side. The scallion sauce was not doing it for me. It was a little pungent and the little container rested atop a bed of scallions. The plain buffalo sauce was--as expected. The fries were crispy and not a hint of soggy sag. The ovado salad was generously sized and there was no brown lettuce. Was hoping for more non-lettuce ingredients. The service was a little on the slow side but not painfully so. I didn't need to send up a flare. The noise was a bit much. It fell into two buckets--first was the frequent delivery folks coming and going as they trudged through the seating area and the other was the music blare. Both were annoying but expected. The lighting was poor to satisfactory and manageable. I have never been here before, my intent to do so erstwhile intercepted by the visage and wafting smell of simmering White Castle fare which is just across the street. read more

Been meaning to come to this place for a couple years now. Don't know why we haven't done it until now. Should've done it earlier. It's very good. Sorry but I'm gonna have to compare this to Mad for Chicken, another excellent Korean chicken place down the block. But Pelicana is a more intimate setting. More mom and pop. More charming? The food is excellent, just like the bigger place. But I think Pelicana has a bigger and more enticing menu. The prices are very reasonable. I can't believe I got a crispy "ugly chicken sandwich" for only $10. And then check out the beer specials. Unlimited beer for only $15?? Yep. IPA and everything. Gotta come here with the boys soon. And the music was ... interesting. Lots of hip hop and rap, with generous helpings of curses and the N word. Definitely the kind of music that my friends' sons listen to. But, my wife and I also enjoyed it. It made the chicken and beer even tastier. Definitely will make it back here soon. read more

10/10! Great late night spot to grab drinks and some korean fried chicken. Not only is there outdoor patio but the inside is nice and clean. There's a huge variety of things to eat on the menu not only just korean fried chicken. There's good drinks too like cocktails. My server caprice was super helpful with recommendations and amazing service. The soy garlic wings was super fresh and flavorful paired well with the bay raspberry tea cocktail. I will definitely be coming back. read more
I'm not sure if this place is new or just renovated with different management. It doesn't seem old. When we walk-in it was strange because no one really assisted us. Perhaps since all the tables were being used by a wide range of customers. But after a bit people started to leave. They can do with hiring more waitstaff as that's the one thing they're lacking. I haven't ate at a pelicana in so long. But decided to check this one out for all of their great reviews. I found out that they have signature flavors and different levels of spicy, I of course got the really spicy one and that one was no joke. You can either get a whole chicken or different parts of it like the wings or the breast. There are various ways of getting it made too with sauce on it or without. First you choose the chicken, then choose your battle, then a signature sauce. There are other items to order such as french fries, salad, chicken sandwiches, soups and the list keeps on going and going... everything was really good! I would go back here or check out another franchise. read more
