Ppurings Chicken, Soy Garlic Chicken, Gimmalie (6 pieces)
    Patricia B.

The best Korean Fried Chicken ever. I definitely recommend the ppurings and soy garlic flavor. Ppurings is a powder seasoning with a subtle sweetness. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, juicy, and crispy, with just the right amount of breading; it's not overly coated. However, I found the gimmari to be unremarkable and would suggest skipping it. I placed an online order for pickup and was impressed by the swift service. The staff member at the front neatly packed my order, and each dish came with pickled radish, providing a tangy and refreshing contrast that complements the chicken well. Definitely give this place a try if you're craving Korean fried chicken!

Ordered fries, sweet and spicy wings, ppuring wings, cheese sticks, and coleslaw all 10/10 They have their liquor license finally so you can enjoy with beer and / or drinks. Quick and attentive service and nice clean place.

I found this new location near where I lived and decided to try it for lunch. The service was amazing the cashier e palatines the different flavors and how many pieces are in each order. She was super helpful. The restaurant had a chill vibe. They played hip hop music. The seats were comfy. Ppurings chicken I got the lunch special, which came with a drink eight wings and fries. I was told that this flavor is suppose to taste like Cheetos, which was why I got it. The chicken was crispy and tasted like the honey flavor Cheetos. The fries were crispy but unfortunately had a oily greasy taste. A bonus is that they give you a lot of pickled radishes. Overall I think for the price it was worth it. I would recommend coming here for a cheap quick lunch if you are craving Korean fried chicken.

Ppurings chicken: 5 out of 5. Delicious, unique flavor. On par with spicy soy fried chicken. Cheese fried chicken: 2 out of 5. It's fine but overshadowed by the Ppurings chicken. It's a less tasty, and similar dish to the Ppurings chicken. Sweet-&-Spicy chicken: 3 out of 5. It's pretty tasty, but an underwhelming flavor when compared to Ppurings or spicy soy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience: 3 out of 5. Clean, spacious, 1 private bathroom.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service: 5 out of 5. Very helpful, polite, and accommodating staff.

Don chicken never disappoints! Every time I crave fried chicken or takeout, Don chicken always hits the spot! I always order the soy garlic chicken with a side of fries. The chicken always stays crispy even after being drenched in sauce and kept in the fridge. The fries are always crisp and delectable. I also recommend getting a side of coleslaw as it is lightly sweet and refreshing! Occasionally I'd also get a cheese tteoboki. The tteoboki sauce is nicely flavored and the cheese cuts the spice!

New to the neighborhood with a friendly staff. The spot is on the second floor of a small business front, next to the Gong Cha. Many Korean based food restaurants have taken residence here, but never a Korean Fried Chicken spot. Definitely great tasting made to order with a good selection of flavor choices and spice levels. Definitely worth a try when your passing by and in need of a KFC fix.

The cold noodles were delicious as well, the texture of the noodles as well as the flavor! We got a regular one and a spicy one for the travel and both were great but I think I prefer the spicy one. The barbecue was great as well and the servers helped grill a portion longer for me once we asked them to with no issue! The store was pretty spacious and it was great that there was a parking lot because it was super cold and we didn't want to have to walk back to the car after a hot meal. Overall, everything we had we all loved and I will be back for sure once I can eat the raw marinated crab!

There were more people than we thought would be there but not too many so it was still comfortable. With every dish that is ordered, free kimchi, banchan, rice and cold noodles are included and you can help yourself at the buffet area. Or if you don't order a dish, the unlimited sides are offered for $10. It's a really great deal and so healthy. Our spice tolerance is nonexistent but there are plenty of kimchis, pickled vegetables and other things that we tried. We didn't feel like we were limited in any way by that. The hostess, servers and other customers were so friendly and helpful, especially since it was our first time and we didn't really know how it all worked. We would definitely return for a fun and healthy experience.

*ppffffffffffft pffffffffft* (well, that was a bit more flatulent than usual)…read more"Very good, now can you blow a B flat?" So this is it, I am now the 3rd trombone in the stage band. Repressed memories bite in weird ways as I thought back at my high school days while munching on cold fermented veggies - back in the heady days of the early 90s when cellphones were analog bricks and a PC was a beige tower with an IBM logo embossed upon it, I was once a shot nosed, pudgey asian kid. I thought a Trombone will help me talk to girls (go with a guitar or a ukelele instead), and since I wasn't selected for the computer club, I ended up at stage band class at my NYC specialized high school. When you don't really care enough about playing to be good at it, you are going to sound mediocre, and when half the room is also winging it, the results were merely tolerable. After the band performance at an assembly there's a potluck, and they are ready-made, heat-and-eat affairs with items from CostCo or Boston market. It's a checkmark on someone's calendar, an obligation to be fulfilled without much passion or excitement. Just like the students' dispassionate stage band attendance, their boughie parents are feeding the class with an easy "out" - when I grew up in Corona the poorer kids and their parents did their own cooking, and I had some really spectacular food during the school potluck days. In the presence of affluence you trade quality for convenience and lost a sense of thoughtfulness... All of that rushed back into my head when me and the missus ended up in front of a fancy-ish storefront in Suburban Douglaston at what was formerly an Italian sunday gravy joint (Giadinero?) but now as a Korean eatery. Something seems off though...It's 1p Sunday - where's the customers, and why is it so devoid of the aroma of food? Kimchi is essentially the resurrected Kumgangsan, a former restaurant chain with locations at midtown K-town and downtown Flushing. They had a banchan store called Jangchi Jangchi but they went away during the 2020 pandemic. They promised a 10 dollar Kimchi sampling menu with rice, soup and noodles - this sounds great in early 2025...but is it worth it? Taken from a perspective of a community service joint, yeah, you won't leave hungry as it's all-you-can-eat. But if it's intricacies of Korean cuisine that you desire? Not so much. It's not that the cooking is bad, it's unexciting - for a tasting menu where you hope to taste the difference in kimchee varieties they are all about the same - fresh, cold, sour, but none particularly spicy, salty, funky or interesting. If your Korean auntie made something like this and she was told by her doctor to go easy on the salt or sugar for health reasons, you'll nod then gratefully enjoy. However, this is from an actual kimchi store and It's definitely very mild tasting. The same can be said about the shitake mushrooms and daikon banchan - the daikon is "soft enough for grandma" and both it and the mushrooms tasted like they fished it out of something else and marinated to recycle the ingredients. In addition to the 10 dollar kimchee tasting menu they also can serve you seollongantang, Galbi, bokkeum (squid) or the kalchi (grilled fish) at the typical price for a normal Korean sitdown with soju and a full menu, but they don't seem to have much turnover nor excitement. It felt like your Korean auntie's retiree cafeteria - to reinforce that assertion, when we ordered some steamed pork dumpling we got something that's a bit more bland and watery than expected, kinda like the challah and matzo ball soup at a diner frequented by retirees. We didn't go for their jarred kimchee afterwards as it was too plain for our likings. If we pass the area and want to get something cheap and filling, we might stop by...but with so many choices in the area it'll be tough to convince us to return soon...It was like sitting down in front of the band practice room with a trombone without much drive or excitement for it. Definitely an overly flatulent C minor...

It definitely lived up to our memories, we ended up coming back twice in one week! Between our visits, we ordered the Dweji-Gomtang with extra pork, the Layoo Dweji-Gomtang with extra pork (spicy version), Kimchi Mandoo, Gabrisal Soyuk (pork collar meat), and the So-Bbol Gomtang (beef cheek, brisket, and tripe). Everything was delicious, but the standout for us was the pork collar meat. It was incredibly tender, flavorful, and an absolute must-order. The portions are just the right size, and the restaurant has a fast-casual feel, making it perfect for a quick meal without sacrificing quality. Our kids especially loved the original Dweji-Gomtang. After trying both versions, I personally prefer the original pork soup over the spicy Layoo version, although both were excellent. The complimentary kimchi deserves a special mention - it was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect accompaniment to the soups. The Kimchi Mandoo also had a nice spicy kick while still being packed with flavor. We noticed a lot of the guests were ordering the Lard Donkatsu, so that's definitely on our list for our next visit. There were different cuts of beef (brisket, cheek, tripe) and can say I enjoy the beef soup over the pork option. We ordered a side of shrimp katsu which was so crispy and I was surprised to see whole shrimps! ***DELICIOUS KOREAN FAST FOOD*** ***FANTASTIC KIMBAP***…read more ITS ALMOST AN INSULT Mention fast food, and most individuals will think McDonald's. Burger King, Taco Bell, or some other similar crapola. So in my way of thinking, identifying Rolly Kimbap as a fast food restaurant is practically an insult, considering the quality of what's being served here. However, after placing an order you'll receive your food much quicker than a standard restaurant, so the fast food moniker is unavoidable. And this is true even more now, since all the dine-in tables were removed when Covid hit, making Rolly's a take-out only establishment. IT'S NOT SUSHI ! If someone whose never experienced Kimbap inquires, I'll explain that it's kinda like a Korean style sushi roll. But don't let others hear you say this, because you'l almost always get scolded by some fusspot, insisting that "It's not sushi!" So regardless of whatever you may think it is, I can assure you that the Kimbap at Rolly is one of my all time favorites, and made-to-order with supremely fresh and tasty ingredients. Even more, you can choose from about fourty different varieties, with the Avacado, Crab Salad, Spicy Chicken or Squid, Bulgogi, and Rolled Omelette being my top choices. And don't worry if you're really hungry, as each order of Kimbap here is substantial, and loaded with tasty ingredients. I mean, if you compare one piece of Kimbap at Rolly to a slice of a Japanese sushi roll, the difference in size is laughable. SO MANY OPTIONS Whenever I visit, just ordering Kimbap is impossible for me, as the menu is loaded with small eats, such as the Rice Balls, which are about the size of a medium orange, and are available with about twenty different fillings. Then there's the Crispy Chicken, which has a crunchy coating that seems to have rice crispies mixed in. The Tteok-bokki rice cakes are really delicious here, and can be ordered either spicy, fried, sweet & sour, or with seafood mixed in. And there's other sides like dumplings, corn dogs, and fries. NOODLES TOO Rolly's Spicy Ramen is a must-try item, that is served with a bold-red Gochujiang based broth similar in flavor to their Spicy Tteok-bokki sauce. And whenever I order this, it is so good, that I find it impossible to wait until I arrive home. So I'll always pop it open, and start eating while I'm driving, making a fantastic mess with the red broth all over my face, hands, and steering wheel. What a jackass I am sometimes! In addition, there's also a non-spicy Ramen Soup that can be ordered with different ingredients mixed in, Udon Noodle Soup, and last but not least, Korean Buckwheat Cold Noodles that are really tasty. KING OF BENTO If your hungry for a full pre-made meal, Rolly Kimbap's Bento Boxes - listed as meals on the menu - are fantastic. Order one, and you will be presented with something that is beautiful to look at, really delicious, and very filling. For example, a Fried Rice Meal includes a nice sized portion of fried rice, topped with a fried egg, along with sides such as salad, vegetables, macaroni salad and pickled daikon, to name a few. Another example is the Spicy Pork, Squid, And Bulgogi Meal, that comes with white rice, salad, broccoli, fish cakes, Korean sausage, a vegetable pancake, and seasoned bean sprouts as side dishes. Even more, if you're feeding two people, Rolly offers different Couples Sets, such as the #144 which includes a Bento box with kimbap, fried pork cutlet & sides, along with a large order of Spicy Tteok-bokki. LOVE THIS PLACE I only award a four star rating to Rolly Kimbap, because you can definitely find better versions of their hot dishes, such as Jeyuk bokkeum spicy pork or Soondubu spicy tofu stew at top Korean restaurants. But at the same time, it's really surprising how fantastic the food is at this small takeout spot. And on top of everything else, there's a very large parking lot behind the store, so parking is always a breeze. And so, if I'm driving on the LIE near exit 29, and it's time for lunch or dinner, there's a really good chance that I will stop here, because I really love this place. And at the same time, if you have a chance, give Rolly Kimbap a try, and you may fall in love with their Korean specialties too.
