Cuisine: 6 Service: 6 Decor: 7 Value: 7 Overall: 6 Let me start off by saying that I have never been the biggest Korean fried chicken fan because I find them somewhat lacking juiciness due to the extra time their frying process needs to make the skin extra crispy and crunchy. The thighs/drumsticks are better, but the chicken wings are always too dry for me. With that said, Mad For Chicken chain has been around for a while, producing one of the more tender and juicier piece of chicken. Unfortunately, we did not love their sauces at this location. The soy garlic felt weak, while the spicy soy garlic was not spicy. Serano chili was okay but nothing special either. Our favorite thing that day was their Bulgogi Toppoki Japchae. It was pretty tasty. Might come back for this dish and give their chicken one more chance.

Soju flight (Passion fruit, Mango, Lychee, Strawberry)

I have been going to this location for years but ai know they have one in Brooklyn. This was the first time, it was so packed that we ended up sitting at the bar. Normally, you get an order of popcorn (y'all, idk what kind of seasoning the popcorn has but it's sooo good), we didn't get any but chalked it up to the place being soooo busy. Ok, ok now for the food and dranks. We ALWAYS get the Kimchi fries and order of half/half soy garlic & spicy garlic wings - our order was messed up but we didn't care b/c the garlic soy wings are always good (we didn't get the spicy garlic wings) For dranks, we got a Blue Moon + a soju flight..i wasn't a fan of the flight but it had nothing to do do w/MFC - it all boils down the personal preference.

    Kimchi Vegetable Dumplings

Came here with my friend on a whim, as we got hungry after retail therapy. I've been to the location in Flushing but wasn't too into it. But I was in the mood for some Korean fried chicken. They had happy hour food specials, so we ordered two orders of chicken tenders (soy garlic & spicy garlic) & parmesan fries off it. Also ordered the kimchi vegetable dumplings off regular menu. We weren't starving by any means, but thought everything was amazing. The chicken was good. Although, I would probably get wings next time. Parmesan fries were delicious. But the star was definitely the dumplings. We ordered the mild which had the right amount of heat. The spicy might've been too much. Service was friendly and efficient. Great HH deals. You really can't go wrong.

    Late Night Nachos & Toppoki
    Olivia K.

I came here mainly because it was opened late - my friend and I were hungry after a concert. And secondly, I thought you couldn't go bad with Mad for Chicken (based on my experience at the other Queens locations). However, this location proved me wrong... in a negative way. When my friend and I first sat down, I noticed the late night happy hour menu, which we were right in the timeframe for. So, we decided to order a few options from that menu. We each decided to get a beer considering its discounted price. Since we are both novice at beer consumption, we asked our server some questions and his opinion, but noticed that he wasn't knowledgeable about any of these beers at all. I was taken aback a bit but didn't bother me much. In the end, we both decided to go with our gut choices. We also decided to share a serving of nachos & toppoki. Despite the server saying that the nachos from the late night menu is a smaller portioned size, I thought it was adequate enough considering how we didn't want to eat too much so late at night. So, I thought that it was a good portion size and tasted good. However, I was very disappointed by the toppoki. First of all, the toppoki was very sweet and not spicy at all! It was filled with onion slices. The rice cakes were the smallest ones I've ever seen when ordering this dish elsewhere. As a Korean, I know this isn't authentic at all and would not recommend. Also seeing that there weren't any Korean employees working at this Korean fried chicken chain location, I wasn't totally surprised at how mediocre it was. Lastly, what disappointed me the most... was their honesty in doing business. When we received the bill for our meal, my friend paid with her card. Immediately after we got the final receipt, I noticed that they upcharged us for the beer (not the price listed on the late night menu). So when I went to ask them about this, they gave the excuse that beers are exempt from this special pricing because "it's a concert night". I was kinda dumbfounded. Never once did they mention that when we were ordering from the late night menu in the first place (maybe wouldn't have ordered it if it wasn't cheaper). I also wondered if they might have changed it if I noticed before paying, but I personally thought that they were just lazy to refund or alter that amount since it was already paid for. The experience with the mediocre toppoki and the upcharge for "concert nights" did not leave a good first impression on either one of us. I personally would not visit this location again and would actually recommend others to visit Flushing/Bayside locations instead.

    Crab salad

First visit first impression is very important!!! I couldn't find the excitement at my first visit. I would understand certain places extremely busy, when you make a mistake i would give credit. We didn't even wait that long to be seated!! Place wasn't even packed, and my order was forgotten, when it came it was wrong. Waited over 40 minutes to get one item to be served. Other than that: Crab salad was ok! Kimchi fried rice is superb! Mac and cheese with bulgogi, can have it again. Wings were average, just because they use miscut chicken wings. You buy these at grocery at discounted prices. Nachos terrible, not only it was prepared wrong, when the right item came, there wasn't even enough ground beef with chili!!

Check w our order! NEVER by chicken there!!!!
    Elizabeth S.

Terrible experience! We ordered chicken wings and a salad. The salad was okay, but the chicken wings were absolutely awful -- they cost $30 and were spoiled, smelly, not fresh, and even burnt! The smell was unbearable. We asked them to take the wings back and refund us, but they refused. I strongly warn others not to eat here -- the food is not fresh, especially the chicken, and it's way overpriced!

    Spicy Soy Garlic Mad Tenders
    Carina H.

I can't speak about the service because this was a delivery order, but I've passed by and it looked like it'd be a great drinking spot for a fun time with friends! This was my first time trying Mad for Chicken, and I was disappointed by the Signature Wings. The bones were broken, which wasn't a big deal but I had never seen that before in wings. I like a lot of meat in my wings, but these weren't those type of wings. The Spicy Soy Garlic sauce on them were good though. The Spicy Soy Garlic Mad Tenders were tender and flavorful without drowning in sauce. It wasn't particularly juicy, but I did like the tenders anyway. The spice level in the soy garlic sauce was perfect. Even though I like both kimchi and fries, I've decided I'm not a big fan of them together in the Kimchi Fries. The fries have the perfect amount of potato and was crisp with the perfect fried texture on the outside. I would go back for the regular fries because the fries themselves were really good!

HORRIBLE! Where is the chicken? Chicken was overcooked and cold. It was all breading and over sauced. Clearly not worth $20.

We ordered waffle fries and asked for ketchup. When the bill arrived, we were shocked to see a **$2 charge for the ketchup**. At no point were we informed that there would be an extra charge. Not only was the lack of transparency frustrating, but this is also the **first restaurant in my adult life** that has charged for ketchup with an order of fries. It's not about the $2--it's about the principle. Charging for a basic condiment without letting customers know beforehand feels petty and leaves a bad impression. What a neighborhood GEM!! Kuku Korean was fantastic! Fresh, tasty food at reasonable prices!…read more We (6 of us) were in the neighborhood for a Valentine's Day celebration and searched Yelp for a good ethnic restaurant in the area. We came across Kuku Korean and said YESSS, this is the place to go! The only wrench in our plans was that Kuku Korean doesn't take reservations; not even on Valentine's Day! They warned us that they expected to be very busy that evening, and to expect a wait. Ok, we made plans to go, but also made a Resy with another restaurant close by, as a backup plan in case there was a long wait for a table. But really, Kuku Korean was our preferred first choice. After our V Day event, we rushed over to Kuku Korean to see what the wait time was for a table for 6. It was just after 6pm, and the stars were aligned for us, because we got the last large table available! Woo Hoooo! Happy Valentine's Day to us!! We quickly cancelled our Resy with the other restaurant (sorry!) and perused Kuku Korean's fabulous menu. Our MENU (shared by 6ppl): ~ Seafood Pajeon ($24/large): Crispy battered pancake made with green onions & seafood (mussels, clams, squid, and shrimp). This was phenomenal! So much seafood and such a comforting dish...get this! ~ Veg Japche ($21): Stir-fried Korean vermicelli with Kuku soy-garlic Japchae sauce and assorted veggies. This dish was also available with various proteins but we opted for Veg since we were ordering other meat dishes. This dish was so flavorful and delicious. ~ Kuku Bibimbap ($24): Seasoned vegetables over rice, topped with a fried egg. Served with Kuku spicy bibim sauce. Again, you have the option of adding protein to this dish but we kept it veg. Another great dish! ~ Pork Galbi ($28): Char-grilled Pork ribs marinated in Kuku sauce, served with sauteed onions. Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. The pork was cut in thick slices, which was surprising, but wow, this was phenomenal! So tasty and lean, and just delicious. ~ Beef Bulgogi ($33): Sauteed thinly sliced beef rib-eye marinated in Kuku sauce with mushroom, Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. Another phenomenal dish. Bursting with flavor. -- Spicy Squid ($28): Stir-fried squid in spicy Kuku gochujang sauce, onions, hot pepper and carrot. Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. This squid was prepared perfectly; not over cooked nor rubbery! Great dish. - Ban Chan: generous unlimited servings; fresh & delicious. These 6 dishes, plus Ban Chan was perfect for 6 ppl to share. We finished everything and were fully satisfied. Every single dish was delicious and we ALL said we wanted to return to Kuku Korean to repeat some dishes and try new dishes. Customer service and atmosphere were great. The busser staff did an amazing job and were even more attentive than our server (who we only saw twice)...kudos to the bussers! They were so hard working, with a smiling, friendly attitude! Give them a raise! Looking forward to a return visit to Kuku Korean...hopefully SOON!!
