Horrible. We have been 5 times and every time we've had a problem. Most recently was this evening. No dressing for the salad, totally wrong pizza order. We only do takeout because the service there is not quite up to par. Two different food prep areas makes dinners come at separate times. Cold inside. Dessert items unavailable. This was a lifesaving stop on our drive into Vermont from New jersey for a ski week. Being a Tuesday evening nothing really was open unfortunately. We were able to get a table within 20 minutes which was great. Service was definitely on the slower side due to how packed it was but we had no complaints on that. Our server was extremely friendly and cracked a few jokes which really made this a great meal. We each ordered a personal pizza and then a burger. My plain pizza was really good and was shocked how good it was for pizza not from the tri state area. The whiteout pizza was just as good, the only thing I would say is it could use more hot honey. The blackberry bacon jalapeño smashburger my boyfriend ordered was huge for a smashburger and well flavored. It was such an odd combination of flavors but he said it was amazing. The fries portion was also huge. Prices are also very reasonable compared to most Vermont restaurants surrounding ski mountains. A must try in the area as it's cozy and quaint with a nice roaring fire inside the dining area. read more

We ended getting different things this time and I thought this time was better. The wings were big and juicy, the sampler was huge, so many veggies, and the pizza was pretty good. There's a new kid in town! Mad Moose replaces Blue Stone Pizzeria and has inherited the same bones, even the same pizza oven. It's family run and, based on the excellent salads, beer list, and fair prices, promises to be amazing. On our visit, though, in December 2025, a few weeks after opening, we encountered some teething troubles. Cons: - Our kiddo ordered the chicken tenders from the children's menu. The outside was a lovely light gold. The inside was raw chicken. Think sashimi raw. Our server was great and had the kitchen remake the dish for us. (They did not offer to remove it from the check and I don't think we would've wanted them to had they offered since they are still trying to get their footing.) The second batch came a touch burnt. Our dog was a very happy beneficiary of the kitchen mishaps. - At about 6:30 p.m. when we arrived for dinner, they were for some reason no longer making pizzas. Our progeny was celebrating a birthday and had chosen this restaurant specifically for the pizzas, so we were sad. The pizzas at adjoining tables looked good! - They were out of a lot of items we wanted in addition to the pizzas including several beers, the Brussels sprouts (also a draw for the birthday kid). Pros: - The salads are well designed and well made. I'd come back in a heartbeat for these. - Our server, the owner's sister, was very nice and communicated well. - Prices are incredibly fair at the moment -- shockingly non rapacious for a ski resort town. I don't know if the restaurant will be able to balance the books unless there's a huge amount of volume in the busy months, but I hope so. Fingers crossed they iron out the kinks and stay open. We'll check back in on this place in February. read more

as someone who grew up in the valley, i am very pleased to see a restaurant offering a chicken sandwich under 18 dollars in town. we came here on a thursday night in december after a heavy snow. the restaurant was absolutely PACKED, with no space at the bar (people were standing) and a 20 minute wait for tables. we grabbed a quick drink and stood in the waiting area until a table was ready. once we put our food in, it was about a 20-30 minute wait for it to be ready. i ordered the maple mustard chicken sandwich, and my partner ordered a pizza with bacon and black olivers (strangely his favorite). i really enjoyed my chicken sandiwich; it was on the smaller side but still filling and i'm ok with that for the price. the maple mustard sauce was perfect and the apples were quite nice. i added pickles (of course) which made it even better. the fries were fried well and appropriately seasoned. my partner got the pizza and was not impressed. i really liked the way they cooked the crust, but i'm not much of a pizza connoiseur so i like any pizza. he said it was lacking in sauce, seasoning, and that their cheese blend wasn't great. i want to attribute this to them being new and hope they get the kinks ironed out in the future. even though they were totally slammed, the service was quick enough once we were seated and both the waiters and bussers were super nice and pleasant to chat with. next time i'm back in town i will surely come here again for an inexpensive chicken sandwich. read more

Where do I begin...mad moose accommodated 7 people fast during a big rush. Everything was delicious and to our liking. Sam(s) were great and Sam the bartender gave us tips for going out on the small town for our bachelor party. Everyone was so nice to us and we would 100% come back for his espresso martinis! Unorganized and out of pizza dough at 6:30 pm on a weekend night. No communication about being out of pizza when we were given our menus before we ordered pizza Our server was inexperienced and unknowledgeable about what was on the menu. Everything needed salt. The side slaw was over mixed with some kind of spicy mayonnaise and was inedible. Turkey avocado wrap had two teaspoon size pieces of avocado, a few spinach leaves and a half of a cherry tomato with turkey mixed with some pesto... which unfortunately kept me up half the night with severe stomach pain and exploding diarrhea. My refill of ginger ale was certainly not ginger ale... maybe some other patrons left over cocktail? We're locals and won't be back read more

More than 1.2 hour wait to sit, more than an hour for food. They did not have enough water cups to provide water for the entire the table (party of 3). I asked for 1/2 specialty pizza 1/2 cheese. Waitress said this was not possible because the kitchen would get confused . Fair enough . Kitchen still screwed up the toppings on the pizza we ordered regardless. Pizza came out way overcooked. Hard to even eat because of black crust. Brought all this up to the waitress. Instead of doing anything substantive about it, she said she would "let the restaurant know". Overall, not a good experience from seating to food quality and would suggest other restaurants if visiting Sugarbush. read more

I'd give 5 stars for concept and food. Execution was a bit lacking but they've only been open a few weeks. I really hope this place makes it. Pizzas and burgers were excellent and a great value for the area. What I really love is they have a real live kids menu and an awesome price point. We don't eat out much in the valley as a family because there are no kids menus and my kids can only eat so many $20 hamburgers that they take two bites of...it's soul crushing. Menu fairly similar to former Blue Stone- wood oven pizzas, smash burgers, salads. Service tried hard but was a little awkward- but again, they're just getting going. High recommendation for a great family dinner or an apres ski drink in town. read more

Saw that this place was busy so was hopeful that it meant it was good. Was able to grab a drink at the bar during the 45 minute wait before being seated. Once seated, took another 20 minutes for server to make it to our table. Food was underwhelming at best. The chicken for the wraps tasted like it was canned. Ended up having to go back to the bar area to get drinks as our server was no where to be found.
