The scenery is stunning- surrounded by mountains, trees, wildflowers, and the ranch horses all up in the canyon just a short drive from the city. When I was there they had live music out on the patio stage which was unexpected and fantastic. I ordered the house burger and waffle fries. Not the best burger I have eaten but very good. The waffle fries were a nice novelty and very good. They did not have a kids menu but the staff offered to cook up a custom grilled cheese sandwich, which was perfect. One of the best things on the menu is genuine sun tea - hard to find these days. I also found the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. I asked about the local area and they gave me some great tips. Definitely worth a trip back up the canyon for this one!

After dropping my son off at home following our trip, I decided to make one more stop before heading back myself. I'd passed by Mad Moose Café countless times, always thinking, "I should stop there someday." This time, I finally did. I ordered the Lavender Fog Latte, and wow, that alone made the stop worthwhile. Smooth, comforting, and just different enough to stand out without being overpowering. After a long drive back from Colorado, it hit the spot perfectly. For lunch, I went with the Turkey Avocado Panini, paired with sweet potato fries. Fresh ingredients, great flavor, and exactly the kind of meal that feels satisfying without weighing you down. What really stood out was the atmosphere. Sitting outside with a warm drink, good food, and no rush to be anywhere else made for a relaxing break before the final stretch home. Sometimes the best discoveries are the places you've driven past a hundred times without stopping. Safe to say I won't be driving past Mad Moose Café anymore without at least considering another visit. Definitely worth the stop. read more

The woman running the counter says, "we don't do modifications, she can pick it off herself. We don't do special treatment." This is the same woman who told us that something so simple would be alright. Incredibly poor service, awful customer relations, and I had to throw my burger away after all of it. It was easily one of the best breakfast plates in Ogden and the main reason we kept coming back. Yesterday we came in and found out they completely removed it from the menu. Huge disappointment right out of the gate. They still have mixed berry, banana caramel, and peach versions. I can't eat the berry because of an allergy, and we've had the peach before and didn't care for it, so we tried the banana caramel crunch instead. Service was slower than usual. There's a help-wanted sign when you walk in and it looked like a new employee was being trained, so that part was understandable. What wasn't understandable was when the food showed up. The portion has been cut in half.What used to be two stuffed French toast pieces per order is now only one, but the price is the same. My wife and I have both had weight-loss surgery, so we're definitely not people who need massive portions. But cutting the plate by 50% while charging the same price just feels like a bad move. Even though we split meals we made it up by tipping are wait staff, the difference as if we would have ordered two meals, Removing a customer favorite and shrinking portions at the same time is a good way to lose longtime customers. Cute little diner, just hope the owners can rethink this issue. All things change and not always for the good. We used to recommend No Frills to everyone. After this visit, it's hard to say we will anymore or visit ourselves.
