You wouldn't believe it looking at it from the outside, but this place has some of the best tap water in Utah. It's worth the drive from Las Vegas or even a flight in from Raleigh, North Carolina. The water has the perfect amount of ice that last long enough to crunch on when you run out of water in your glass. I bet you were hoping for a review of the food. It's just as good as the water but let's be real. I judge a place on the water and let the food for the others to comment on. read more

I enjoyed it for the most part. We had a little confusion, but that's sort of on us. Didn't realize that soup or sweet potato fries cost extra as a side, so I thought I'd share that first for those who don't read a menu closely. We also had one of those minor mistakes where we asked for no sauce on a sando and unfortunately didn't realize it until we were about an hour away. Having said that, I liked what I had. The veggie sando was solid. Nice dressing and I liked it warm even though I got no cheese. I also got the clam chowder which is worth the extra buck or so that I just mentioned since it is both tasty and a healthy portion. So, let's get my complaint out of the way first, and then go on to the compliments: The coffee took a while to get there. It was good coffee, but we waited about ten minutes to get it. There. That's my complaint. The food itself was good, and there was plenty of it. I came it with a group of six and we all got breakfast. After the original delay in our java, refills came in good time. Proper country potatos, eggs cooked just right, good bacon. I'd love to come back and try their lunch service. So that's pretty much it: I wasn't blown away, but I want to come back. read more

So the other night I picked my son up and he burst in to tears as soon as he got into the car. Come to find out, there was a Pokémon card trade gone bad and he was upset. I told him it was ok and that we could get a treat on the way home. We stopped at Maverick because he likes their shake machine. Unfortunately, it was broken so we started looking at the ice cream bars they had. A fellow shopper heard us talking about ice cream and suggested we go get an ice cream cone at Mad Moose. I remember going there forever ago when we were visiting from Vegas (we now live in Utah). We walked in to find a cute little shop with an awesome looking menu on the wall. They were boxing up some to go orders which looked and smelled amazing! They had an ice cream counter with Farr's ice cream. They had about 8 flavors. My son excitedly picked out two and we old the server (Dallas) that we wanted a two scoop cone. She handed it to us and we instantly noticed the adorable eyes and smile she had made in the ice cream. I commented on how cute it was and how it would make his day since he had been sad. She said...the ice cream is on the house! I was surprised and try to pay but she insisted no. It was so extremely kind and made his night and mine! She said "just tell your friends about us!" So this is me telling my friends about Mad Moose! First time visiting the area and we decided to dine at the Mad Moose in June 2024. Our waiter, Dane was charming and did a great job. We enjoyed the outdoor seating, although the area could use some upkeep, particularly with the weeds. The wait time for our food was reasonable, but there were serious issues with our meal. For $17, we expected better than finding a red hair in the first serving of our burger and fries. After requesting a replacement, another hair--this time darker and resembling a dog hair--was in the new serving. This was unacceptable, and we couldn't finish our meal, so we left and definitely won't ever be back! The fact remains that we had two hairs in our food (super gross) and the only employee there with red hair was the cook. Take some accountability around your cooks sanitation. read more

Okay okay, I know 1 star seems harsh. But let me start off by saying 4 years ago when we moved here we loved this place. We always bring out of state family and friends here and used to brag about it! There have been some experimenting and tweaks to the menu since, that's to be expected. But what I didn't expect when I walked in today (after not having eaten there for about a year)... Was each item to be $5 MORE THAN IT WAS BEFORE. Their sandwiches used to be $8.50. But now they are upwards of $13! FOR. A. SANDWICH. We aren't talking about a gourmet sandwich. I'm talking about a Basic pastrami sandwich here... a Basic club... etc. Honestly we can understand with this ridiculous inflation, okay maybe things cost more so they need to charge more. That's great. Totally understandable! EXCEPT. They still have their gigantic, brightly colored menu signs that have the old prices. When we walked in we looked at them, naturally, and the cashier immediately told us not to look at THAT menu, but to look at a different printed menu with the higher prices. How can a company do that? Post huge prices then say oh no sorry that's actually $5 more. Don't look at that. I am not entirely sure that's even legal. We talked a little about how they could update the large menu and the cashier told us it was too much of a hassle to find the same artist who did the old menu and also they didn't want to have it take too long and not have the menu up. Huh? How does that even make sense? You would rather keep an old menu that is $5 cheaper per sandwich (etc) and that you immediately tell customers NOT TO LOOK AT than to just hire a new person to redo them? Even if it takes a couple weeks? Nevertheless, we ordered the pastrami (I added pickles) and went to the Mexican restaurant close by and then the market and came back to pick up the to go order. We walked in and the rudest girl ever is just mean mugging me and hands me my box without saying a word. And let me tell you the air was THICK. It was extremely obvious that the staff didn't like that we suggested updating the inaccurate menu prices and had been discussing it in our absence. I was friendly during my entire encounter, we weren't ever rude. When we suggested the menu update we were kind of chuckling, saying it in a light hearted way. Never ever rude. I tried to smile at the staff only to be met with mean stares. Like are you kidding me???? Bc we noticed the price differences, the staff treats us like dog crap? So now I have my food and I know to check it bc I added pickles and they never remember to put them on. I walked outside and checked and walked back in to the RUDEST staff I have ever encountered. They were annoyed with ME because they made my $15 sandwich wrong. NOT OKAY. We were the only customers there on a Thursday evening at 5:30 pm. My go to restaurant for any meal in Eden! Everything I've tried at Mad Moose is solid, and the service is always super friendly and the ambience is comfortable and homey. Reasonable prices too! There can be a wait at peak hours during peak season. They also appear to do a healthy amount of takeout business. My favorite meals so far are the croissant breakfast sandwich and the California salad with chicken added. Ingredients are fresh and delicious! read more

Let me start by saying that I was giving this restaurant/coffee shop a FULL 5, because these people are just absolutely AMAZING. So extremely welcoming and friendly! Really REALLY good coffee, fresh beans and homemade chocolate covered espresso beans! And what makes them great is that they don't use an entire bean in these little morsels... which balances out the flavor PERFECTLY! Now, the reason for 3 Stars? Well, there was a wait (and that wasn't the issue). The issue was that I spent all that time looking at the Menu posted on Yelp for their business. To be honest, I wasn't even hungry, but the people I was with were starving, so I figured I'd order something. So I figured I'd order a burger (without the bun). $7.99 wasn't too bad for a single-Patty burger with some cheese and bacon, and that's what the burger (all of them, I believe) cost. Honestly, it was really just your run-of-the-mill burger, nothing different about it. Well, it's time for the server to collect and she told me it was $15 bucks! I said, "Um, I think you've got me confused with another person, I just had the single patty burger (lettuce wrapped) and my included side was a salad and a glass of water... I think I only owe $7.99. She said no, it's $15, so I showed her the menu and she said that she would let the owner know. But she didn't move, just waited for me to give her my card. So I did... whatever, just seemed REALLY weird that a little burger Patty and lettuce was $15! Even the Double-Char Bacon burgers at Habit Grill are only $9, and this thing wasn't even CLOSE to that kinda burger. When I told my friends, they said, "yeah, we know, we got these little cups of soup and it was $5 each (and they were SMALL). So anyway, I still recommend the Mad Moose, it is a quaint place with really friendly folks. All in all we had a wonderful time, but please update your menu!!! hello! me and my wife went to the cafe this past weekend! the food was delicious and unlike anything I've ever had before! our servers name was Sarah she was the sweetest girl and really turned up the mood! she made us the most delicious coffees and talked to us and talked about good places to go skiing! we even shared the same last name! the place gives a very home feel to it it almost feels as if I'm going to my grandparents house although the food feels professional! the cooks name was Logan he paid very good attention to detail on the plates! As a 30+yr local we have been to the mad moose a few times. Recently we brought friends for lunch and it's the last time. The food was meh, Their prices have increased steadily to the point where we can drive to town and enjoy a nice meal that isn't just a run of the mill sandwich for the same or less. We like to support mike but it seems he is catering to the out of towners now. More power to him. read more

This place has the unearned confidence of a restaurant which knows that they are basically the only game in town. The reality is that the food is aggressively mediocre. I do appreciate the organic greens and never-frozen beef, but in spite of the names on half of the menu, this place is definitely more Utah suburbs than California with their gooey sweet salad dressings and cliche combinations. The service is excruciatingly slow. The prices are much higher than what the food deserves. And the fly swatters communicate a clear "We don't care enough about this problem to actually do anything about it, but here's something to let you know that we're aware of the issue and let you do something about it if you're so inclined." I doubt there was a moment of my entire meal when I didn't have a fly on me--and several times on my food in spite of my best efforts. The sweet potato fries were the best thing we tried. They got a nice crisp on them which is hard. Also yay for Utah suburbs with the fry sauce. But the burgers and salad were just meh. read more

This little place is pretty good. I really like their Philly cheesesteak. I didn't get that this time, I got the Cali burger. It was good but a tad bit dry. The raspberry Italian soda was good too. Kinda tasted like a raspberry creamy beer haha. My sister got the chicken gyro and she liked it! Our waiter was extremely nice and attentive. I didn't catch his name but he said he wasn't normally a server he was a cook. Very nice! I love that they put the deck out there. Last time I came it was grass and mud. On my solo getaway to Pineview Reservoir, this was the last dinner I had in town. Great service from the manager and even though it was pretty busy, the food came out relatively quickly. I had the ribeye sandwich and salad. It was very good and especially the bread. The salad was fresh and well made. The meal came with a cookie, which was a nice touch. They also have ice cream in the shop and looks like some good coffee that I wish I'd had a chance to try. It's somewhere I'll go back to on my next trip there! read more

The chicken was OK, but basically had no flavor - very little pesto on it. The sauce for the fries (seems like ketchup and Mayo mixed together) is way too sweet. Tried the cheeseburger the second time. Greasy, but better than the chicken pannini. Would only order here again if nothing else was open. read more
