Went to try some unique pizzas and ice cream. This place is creative with both their pizza toppings and ice cream flavors. Tried the crab rangoon (my fave), blackberry goat cheese, Nashville hot chicken, and vegan meat lovers pizzas. And couldn't leave without trying the salty vanilla and blackberry goat cheese habanero ice cream. Such a fun experience! Loved the pizza! There was a really good crust on it, but just beware the flop is heeeavy. Youll need to support it the whole way down. My brother (congrat grad!) got pepperoni and it looked great, the pepperonis CUP (!!). Mine was the truffle mushroom, and it was good but a little oily for my own preference. We ordered the Margherita, the hot honey pepperoni, the fig prosciutto, and a more traditional sausage/pepperoni. Our crowd loved the pizzas. We all loved the delicious crisp crust with a bit of chew. Just wow! Great flavors. The fig prosciutto was everyone's fave with the hot honey pepperoni a close second, but all 4 pizzas were delicious and completely devoured. Highly recommend! Easily one of the best pizzas I've tried. The sauce for the Shiitake Mushroom Truffle was rich and creamy. They were very generous with the mushrooms. The dough for the pizza and breadsticks was insanely flavorful and soft. I think on the menu it said the dough ferments for 100 hours. The Doritos Taco Sticks has a strong Doritos flavor and the nacho on top of the breadsticks also has hints of the Doritos flavor. All the ingredients felt really fresh. We also tried the gelato and got the dark chocolate flavor. It was very creamy and reminded me of mousse almost. When ordering gelato, the person behind the counter was so sweet and let us try different flavors. Their strawberry honey and salt and oil gelato were different and I would get that next time. One thing to look out for is that seating is limited, so on a weekend you might have to take your food to go. Overall, the ambiance and service was really nice. I've ordered from here at least four times. My preference is for pick up instead of delivery since I had some issues with them leaving pizza out on my porch in the cold and not knocking which was frustrating. The best pizza so far is the Vodka Sausage! The flavors burst across the tongue. The combination of the sausage with the vodka sauce makes it easy to finish the whole pizza in one sitting. My mouth is watering just thinking about it and I had it last night! The Lemon Pepper Bianca was an excellent second pizza to order as it was light and fresh, the kick of the pepper and the tangy lemon were exceptional. I wasn't particularly impressed with the Meat Monster or Chicken Bacon Ranch. They were good, but nothing particularly special about them and I wouldn't order them again for the price. Typically I want something more specialized when I order from here. I wasn't as enthused with the Bacon Apple Sausage but I think it just didn't measure up in comparison to the Vodka Sausage. read more

We had an everything pizza minus green peppers on a Saturday afternoon before Mother's Day. You place your order at the counter, then they bring the pizza to your table. The drinks are by the can or bottle and they have an interesting selection with some unusual drinks along with old standbys. I had my first Pellegrino. The dining area is not too large at this location, but it looked like everyone who wanted a table got one. We both loved the crust, super delicious! Amazing! One of the few pizza places I have ever been to in the past decade I would come back to with my own money. I make my own pizzas frequently and feel weird spending big wallet pads for cheap ingredients, compared to other cuisines, even for great service, atmosphere, and unique pies. I can happily say Pizza Uncommon strikes a rare chord for the Lafayette area serving up original dishes and amazing combinations of flavors. I went to this location for dinner on a Friday night a month ago thinking it was a sit-down restaurant but we ended up being the only people eating in the restaurant for the whole time we were there. Meanwhile, there were at least 15 to-go orders. It's not a sit-down restaurant for sure: you order up at the front, there are no servers, and you don't even receive glasses of water or anything. This was something that just wasn't communicated well on the website or at the restaurant itself. The pizza itself has a nice crispy crust and compelling flavor. There are plenty of vegetarian options on the menu, and we got the Lemon Pepper Bianca and the Elote Pizza. The Elote was a personal favorite for us. However, the awkward experience of dining in an empty restaurant while trying to eat pizza without having anything to drink kind of ruined it for me. Pizza Uncommon replaces a chain pizza store that occupied this small strip mall location. The staff were friendly and provided good communication. Higher prices but this is craft pizza and lots of ingredients. There is a seating area but during my visit everyone was there for take away orders. Lots of unusual combinations. I like the personalized service and friendly staff. The dough appears to be made on site. My only complaint is there was burnt flour or cornmeal on bottom of pizza. Not a big deal. Not sure if the oven needs swept out or adjustment of dry flour/cornmeal in the final stage of recipe. I will order Pizza Uncommon again, likely for special celebrations when "common" pizza won't do. read more

My wife and I did a short RV trip to Madison. We were looking for a casual dinner and decided on pizza. My wife has many food sensitivities which include tomatoes and cheese which makes pizza normally almost impossible. She was thrilled to see they offered olive oil as a sauce and a vegan cheese. Unfortunately they close surprisingly early for a pizza place, but so does everywhere else in town. Ever since finding this place shortly after they opened, whenever we order pizza it's Pizza Uncommon. Disclaimer: My wife is celiac but doesn't have any near-term reaction to gluten, so if you react violently to gluten then our experience may not be a good indication of your experience. The next time I placed an online order, the owner recognized my name from Yelp (eek!) and offered to give me a gift card when I picked up.
