Everytime I visit my operations in Ogden, I make it a point on going to Maddox every single day, either for lunch or dinner. The steaks are out of this world. I ordered the bison burger and it was very bland. A little salt on the patty would have helped a lot. The little bit of lettuce in it was wilted and the bun was smashed. The Oreo shake I had was very good--thick and full of cookies. The fries were good and crisp, but nothing special. My daughter got the BLT. MAKE RESERVATIONS! I needed to kill some time so I stopped in on a Saturday at 5. Luckily I was traveling through so it was only me and I got in within a 1/2 hour. The food is typical local steakhouse flair. I ordered a ribeye with the salad. The salad was fresh, the baked potato typical. The side veggies were broccoli and carrots, nothing exciting and did not add to the experience. The steak was perfectly cooked but fatty. Because it was so large. I felt the $32.95 price was fair. It's pretty obvious Maddox's has a cult following in the area. I would definitely visit the area again! Highway 89 is a quick drive to yesteryear, dotted with locally grown produce stands. He normally will tell people when something like that happens but we had been traveling 17 hours (we were headed to Idaho) and wanted to get home soon. So he just ate his food and we left. My wife loves prime rib so for a special treat I took her to Maddox. The service was quick and good. There was an overwhelming amount of food. The salad and baked potato were great. The banana cream pie was huge and delicious. My complaint was with the prime rib. It was a nice size and cooked perfectly but it had no flavor. It was like they forgot the seasoning. It's a shame because that was the reason we went, for the prime rib! read more

I used to love this place...maybe it was just a bad day for them but sure seems to have gone down hill. I got a filet mignon medium rare. It was almost gross. Cooked correctly but the outside was so burned that's all I could really taste. My husband ordered a sirloin and he ordered it medium but it was rare. My mom and dad and my son ordered the prime rib and all ordered medium rare but all three were well done. I didn't mention any of these issues to the server because she made it clear when my mom asked if she was sure the steak was medium rare that she didn't care and wasn't going to do anything to fix it. Our server didn't smile one time either and seemed a bit too "down to business" to be in a service position like that. Also, they only offered one vegetable but it was covered in pepper so that was super gross because only a couple of us even like pepper.
