Checked in Friday, checked out Monday for Father's Day weekend. Location is absolutely great! There's a bike rental place directly across the street and one of the beach piers is at the end of the block. The owners also own the Gondolier, which is located directly behind the Attaché. We rented a first floor room with two double size beds. The room had one dresser, a small nightstand, a small round table with two chairs, a refrigerator/freezer that stood at hip height and a small microwave. I wish there was more counter space. Especially since there was a lot of wasted space near the bathroom. Bathroom was exceptionally clean. The closet was huge but difficult to access because the bed was in the way. Extra blankets and wooden hangers were in the closet. Room came with an ironing board but the outlets were only on one side of the room, making it awkward to find a space to actually iron. Overall the room was a little dated but very clean. Water pressure in the shower was on point! It hurt day two of vacation though, stupid sunburn. The sink water pressure was poor though but the front desk explained it was because the hotel was at full capacity. The glass sliding doors were old and will hopefully be replaced soon. A few of us pinched our fingers when closing the doors. Keep the fan on in the bathroom and your a/c on low to keep your room from smelling like mold and mildew. (There's a note by the door to serve as a friendly reminder to do this) Pool area was clean and well maintained. Be careful with the round stone tables though, they'll scrape your thighs up! Would absolutely stay here again, but would likely upgrade to a room with a kitchenette. read more

I just returned from a four night stay here and have nothing but great things to report. This is my first time staying at the Attaché and we will be back. The rooms are clean, spacious, with updated bathrooms. The motel room door is a steel door that makes you feel safe at night. Unparalleled views of the Atlantic ocean from all angles of the hotel. The pool is spacious and the sun decks are nice. It is a great feature to also have an elevator for those who are unable to do flights of stairs. The staff is gracious and welcoming, and it's so nice to have two nice city areas our front of the hotel. The poolside piped in music is a nice touch. You are directly across the street from the beach, and a shortblock walk to the Crest entrance of the famous Wildwood boardwalk. Highly recommend this location as well as their other locations in the crest. read more

Down for 2 nights during the American Legion convention. The hotel was just purchased by the same firm that owns the Gondolier and shows signs of some sprucing up. My room was on the first floor facing the pool and was quite convenient. Very clean but the sliding door is a little difficult to lock (I am told that the doors will be replaced very soon). The pool area was vey nice and I was surprised to see a diving board. There is a bike rental shop right across the street and the beach is just across the road. There is also an elevated boardwalk that takes you almost to the water line - nice place for a walk at 11 pm. The owners also own a vineyard nearby but I forgot to buy a bottle of their wine. read more

My family and I chose the Attache for our mini vacation before school starts back up again. We checked in on Sunday and checked out (as scheduled) today. We stayed on the first floor, on the other side of the fence from the pool. When booking our reservation back in April, we discussed at length the location of the pool and its proximity to our room. We asked for a room on the first floor directly in front of the pool because we have an almost 1 year old daughter as well as a 12 year old son and we wanted our son to enjoy the pool with his friend. We were very clear that we wanted to be able to tend to our daughter outside the pool area if needed while still allowing our 12 year old time to enjoy while we watched from close by. We were assured that we were going to be in the best room to be able to watch both of our children. Today while packing up to leave, our son played in the pool with his friend, whose parents were also packing up. Our son was approached by a Motel staff member and was told that "he couldn't be in the pool without a parent," and that, "he needed to go get his parents". This is while his friend is right next to him swimming too. No question or statement was made to his friend or any of the other four children in the pool. Our son came up to the fence and told us what the man said to him. I made eye contact with the staff member who was watching our son to make sure he didn't go back in the pool without finding his parents. I asked the man if he asked any other child in the pool where their parents were and he replied, "no". I asked him if he knew who "that" kid's parents were (as I pointed to our son's friend), and the man pointed to a woman sitting at a table with an umbrella and responded, "I assume that is his mom." I told him that his parents are both upstairs and that the assumptions that he made are terrible. He responded with, "The owner is here today and I am just doing what I am told to do." I left him and went to the motel's office. There was a woman ahead of me checking out. I waited and when it was my turn I asked the woman at the front desk if the owner was there. I believe that the woman at the desk was named Jeanette and she claimed to be the owner. I informed her of what had just occurred at the pool. I followed the explanation with a question as to why the man would ask only my son. She responded with, "well your son is the only colored boy at the pool and our "staff member" didn't see any parents of color at the pool." [I'M SORRY WHAT?!?!?- Yes, that was the actual response she gave me] The signage (attached) at the pool does not say that a parent or guardian must be in the pool area to supervise the child. If my child was not black he would not have been prejudicially singled out at the pool; The staff member and apparent owner, Jeanette, would have never questioned him swimming in the pool. He had the purple wristband on, which they require anyone under the age of 20 to wear. He was following all pool rules, just as he had the three days prior. My husband and I were taking turns watching our son at the pool, our daughter crawling around, and packing. Our son was swimming RIGHT NEXT TO his friend when he was approached by the staff. If you ask the female owner (who I am not even sure is the owner because that is not the name on the sign outside the lobby) what she meant by her statement, "Well your son is the only colored boy at the pool and our "staff member" didn't see any parents of color at the pool", be prepared for her to wave you off and tell you that she is not talking to you about this, as she did to my husband and myself when we turned the keys in and checked out. While the motel may have a good view and a decent (cloudy but not terrible) pool, the management is almost non existent and when they do communicate with you they are beyond rude! The previous owners were great but the new hotel conglomerate that bought this place out doesn't care. Certain guests can do what ever they want while us and our kids were harassed with phrases like "do these girls even belong here?" (In a very inappropriate and unprofessional tone that made my kids uncomfortable) simply because we walked down the steps to the pool. AC that hardly functions and WiFi that doesn't really work. The location and motel are okay and the daily staff are pleasant enough but MANAGEMENT IS A NIGHTMARE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! !!! STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE DIRT !!! read more

Reserved my visit for first week in June. Great person at the front desk went over all available rooms and prices. I decided on an ocean facing room for $124 a night (had 2 queen beds). Immaculate room (Phyllis great job!) and Susan at the front desk let me check in when I arrived, even though I was early since my room was clean and ready. The hotel is under new management and seems very well run and organized. VERY CLEAN. Only complaint was the wifi wasn't as consistent as I would like but that may be an area wide problem. Great location, pool, right across from the beach, near many restaurants and breakfast places and bike rental across the street for $12 for an hour and a half. LOVED IT. read more

First time I stayed at this place was the NJ Elk's Convention on 6/2-5/22. It was fabulous!! Updated rooms, VERY accommodating & respectful staff, VERY clean, outside inground pool, & little round soaps are the cutest I've seen in a long time. The cleaning staff does a really cute sculpture of swans using two bath towels on the bed when they clean the room. Very nice touch. Every room overlooks the pool & has a balcony with tables & chairs. They have very good sound proofing between the floors, as my room was right below the deck where people in my lodge partied all night. (The only drawback is that most of the rooms have a step to the bathroom. My room had an 8" step. Other rooms had half the size. Some of the larger rooms didn't have a step. So if you have any leg issues, that may pose a problem.) Otherwise I'm very thankful that the owners renovated this place. (Many of the nostalgic hotels are gone.) I would return to the Attache when staying in Wildwood Crest in a heartbeat. read more

So torn between giving this place 3 stars or 4 stars. The mattresses are pretty darn hard, as are the pillows. The bathroom really needs to be updated. During this stay, when we tried showering, water sprayed out from behind the bathtub nozzle, severely redirecting water that should have been coming out of the shower head. Well, at least we were still able to shower. However, I'm giving the Attaché 4 stars because the place is unfailingly clean! Not a stray hair on the bathroom floor, clean dishes in the cupboard, you name it. The staff is super friendly and we love the pool with high and low diving boards. A couple side notes: love the hotel location. Just far enough from the boardwalk so as to be away from the noise, but close enough to walk there. Sadly the number of smoking patrons is on the rise. Since everyone shares a long balcony, when we sat outside every day we had to deal with our neighbors' cigarette smoke wafting over. Sometimes we retreated to our room to escape it, but the smell still came thru :( read more

This used to be our favorite hotel in Wildwood Crest. The original owner Rose and Maryann the front desk clerk were amazing. Monty worked the evening shift a wonderful person miss them all. The rooms are the same no improvement at all. Old furniture, AC is terrible. We went down late August with the family. We rented 2 suites. Uncomfortable beds and pillows. Our son check out and on arrival home he received a call from the management. They charged him an extra $50. They claim our grandkids spilled something on the carpet. I wouldn't recommend this hotel any longer. read more

This was a great hotel in Wildwood Crest when it was owned by Rose the previous owner. After so many years of going there, the place is worn down. Old furniture, hard beds and pillows..very uncomfortable to sleep on. The pool and the beach is the only thing that we enjoyed there. Restaurants are not as good as they were back in the days. Duffer's restaurant is still a good place to go eat. I don't recommend this Hotel. read more

I've never experienced the hostility from a management team as I did by the employees of this motel. When someone is available they make it their efforts to ruin your stay. There is never anyone monitoring people as detailed, so people from the street walk in and use the pool making it very unsafe. Only as a last resort would you choose to stay here. I stayed in this place few years back and was pretty excited to book my stay with Attache again. My last experience wasn't as good as a previous one though. Right off the bat I got pissed because they don't fully honor online bookings meaning they will take your reservation done thru Bookings.com but will choose a room for you. So if you picked a room with balcony thru Bookings.com it means absolutely nothing. I ended up on a ground floor which I hate but whatever since I was staying there only one night I decided not to make a big deal out of it. Room was ok. Very basic. We tried to turn on the heat since our stay was in the first week of October but no matter what we did cold air was blowing. Ended up turning everything off and allowing my hot girlfriend to keep me warm at night :). Lights in the bedroom were not working either. Considering how much competition is there in Wildwood Crest I doubt I will be back. read more

We just got back from our stay at Attache and we're extremely disappointed. Was overcrowded at times and no social distancing rules. I didn't see anyone wiping down lounge chairs, hand rails. (lounge chairs were also on top of each other so it was impossible to not be close to people).Too many people were it the pool at once. The parking is AWFUL. We didn't even want to leave the hotel because we were afraid of not getting a spot when we get back. Also the spots are extremely tight where you can't even get out of your car. The office people are rude. They give you flimsy bracelets for the kids for the pool and then will charge 10 dollars if they break or your child loses it. The only nice people were the maids. Also your not allowed to play your own music. And you definitely can't play it low or be up hanging out past 10pm. We were told to shut music off at 8pm. And it was super low. We travelled with a bunch of families and we all will not be returning. So if your looking for a relaxing hassle Free vacation I suggest booking somewhere else ! read more

Called the Attache the day before to get reservation without any issue. The room was super clean not even a fingerprint was left behind. Room was quiet, beds were comfortable & staff was great. Very rude staff!!!!!! Will never go back ..came with a large group over 7 different families and paid full price when I find out everyone else is paying $99 per night. When I brought it to the desk when check in the women said oh no thats if you book now you booked in January. The staff comes out and yells at you so be prepared if you sit out with others past 11am they will yell at you and call the cops ....very weird. My son got hurt I go and ask for peroxide the owner says oh thats hard to come by mean while he cuts his leg open on there rusty push carts that are falling apart. They never even gave a crap about the stitches in his leg. Never even asked about it. The elevator smelled like cat pee. The only nice thing I can say about this place was that there was a high diving board so the kids enjoyed it. Also the parking spots are not assigned by your room which is weird and you can barely fit in the spot. My sister never wanted to drive her car because you cant even get in the car without hitting the car next to you. I got a warning on my car saying that I will be towed because I don't have a parking permit and I was never given one. Then when I got the notice I went into the office and she yelled at me for not having a permit I said look you didn't tell me about a permit and then she yelled please park between the lines I said my car isn't fitting in the lines and I know how to park. I have three boys that were swimming in the pool and you have to wear a red braclets sand its a cheap plastic thing and they fell off the kids wrists in the pool so the kids went and asked for another and the lady was nasty and said omg another bracelet in that room and was rude.... There are definitly tons of great motels to stay at . The maids are very sweet and happy always saying hello when they pass you. I paid way to much money at this place to be treated like crap. Oh my husband also got yelled at when he asked where the luggage rack goes he said downstairs you should know....lol what the hell. read more

We have been bouncing from place to place for years. We finally found where we will stay every time. This place is VERY VERY clean. We are staying in a G2 style. You can tell bathrooms have been redone. I can't say enough how clean this place is. The staff are very accommodating. Rosie at the friend desk is extremely friendly and gave us so many recommendations of things to do and places to eat. The hotel is right on the water and across from a bike rental which was fun. Have stayed at the Attaché with family and friends for the last 20 years and always had a great experience UNTIL now!!! Hotel was sold to new owners and although the place remains the same, prices have gone up and now they charge an extra $50pp if more than 2 people in room!! Ridiculous!!!!! And to top it off, the new management is VERY NASTY to deal with, they made my 75 year old mother CRY for a mistake their office staff made!!!! I used to recommend the Attavhe to people all the time, but now I would Never!!! For the money they charge your sure to find something nicer and that has nicer owners/management. Ok, so, the parking spots were super tight and, um, the uh...oh, and the...hmmm, that's all I got, I really can't complain about this place. Yeah, I'm used to 4star hotels with mints on the pillows and big fluffy robes hanging in the closet, but the attaché surely filled a need: a place to lay my head after a few long exhausting days on the beach, at the pool and hanging with my kids on he boardwalk. Tons of amenities? No. And although the place could have used some updating, it was by far one of the cleanest places I've EVER stayed at. Seriously. How they get stuff that old o stay that clean is a scientific marvel. Kudos to the staff. Oh yeah, the neighbors like to congregate and yap it up to all hours, so, if you're a light sleeper, good luck, but other than that, we really enjoyed our stay at he Attaché. They are clearly very close to replacing our usual spot (The Reges), but more because of the location. Great place, great staff, kinda high rates, great location. read more

. Bedrooms are small with no light. A/C is very loud. Place is clean. Parking is terrible if you have a large car. The real negative is they allow smoking on the balconies and pool area and if you get a smoker next to your room it is extremely bad. Smoking is allowed at the pool with filthy smelly ashtrays placed around the seating area. The way the building is structured there is no breeze so Cigarette smoke lingers all day. It's really disgusting. I would not stay here again. read more

My family and I have been staying at the attaché for 12 years! We come with a large family group each year and could not have a better time. The location is pristine for wildwood crest, right near basketball courts, bike rentals, and walking distance to almost ALL the great restaurants as well as the boardwalk. You can park your car and not move it the entire time you're here. Sandy, the owner, is super friendly and checks on her guests daily. The maid staff is friendly and really go above and beyond to make our rooms clean and comfortable. What's cool about this hotel is that it still manages to have the "old school" charm with a few modern renovations. The place is totally spotless and clean, and Sandy makes sure of that! I like that this place is run by a family because they understand families and how they act--we can get a little rowdy sometimes and this place still manages to keep us under control and still have a good time! If you don't try to stay here during you're Wildwood vacation, you're crazy! This is one of the best spots on the island. read more

Talk about the old school hotel feel! The doors still have actual keys, and not a card. I have stayed here two years in a row and have no complaints. 95% of motels down the shore are nasty and dirty, and everyone has that visual of what a dump they look like, but this place surprised me. Before my first stay here last year, I was completely expecting it to be like just any other shore motel but was very surprised and pleased of how clean it was. Yeah the blankets, patterns and rooms are outdated, but they are clean and the location of this place is fantastic! Right next door is a place to rent bikes. Now granted, both times I have stayed here were before the official "start" of the season so only a few rooms in the entire place were taken, but I have no complaints. The location is great because it just blocks from the boardwalk and right next to the beach! The pool is fun for kids and the sun deck is very spacious. The rooms are clean and a good size. After extensive planning and searching for a place to stay for a nice weekend with my peers, we booked a room for a one night stay, and arrived hours early and attempted to acquire a parking permit. However, we were immediately greeted with attitude and disrespect from the front desk manager. She refused to grant us a parking permit and furthermore, she called a colleague to the front to dismiss us and cancel our reservation - the only reason being because we are young (note: all members of the group are legal adults). We were berated with rude questions asking about our age and our group and all three employees made assumptions that we were unfit to stay in the hotel. We were provided a full refund, however, and were sent out of the hotel and told to "look for vacancy signs". Thankfully a kind man outside helped us to research and find a hotel that would not cancel our reservation, kick us out, and leave us stranded 4 hours from home. read more

if i could give them 0 stars i would. my group booked this place ok bookings.com with no issues. we got to the hotel hours early and we went in the hotel to see if we could check in early and from the moment we stepped in the building the staff was insanely rude. they looked at my friend and said "you don't look 25" (she is 20) and proceeded to tell us that we were not going to be allowed to stay in the room. we told them we had one person in the group who is 26 but they said that every single person in our group had to be at least 25. they also asked if we had any men with us, and when we said yes because some had boyfriends, one employee turned to the other and said, "there are boys with them. they have two boys." this was completely unacceptable. they still told us that we were not allowed to get the room and gave us a full refund but then we were basically stranded on the street trying to find a hotel for that night. read more
