Maddy's Melt, a half pound burger with sautéed onions, Swiss and American cheese, on rye. Served with a pile of onion rings.
    Rob P.

The first thing you need to understand about Madison's is that it is a bar, first and foremost. Actually, it's two bars: one indoor, one outdoor. A lot of places have scaled back the number of beers on tap the last few years, so I wasn't surprised to see only one tap in front of me. But, it was one I liked, so I ordered a Guinness. I got it in the can. No problem, but I need to know if you're someone who likes exploring the draft beer selection. My wife's Moscow Mule was strong, and reasonably priced, like everything else on the menu here. Sandwiches are served with chips, but you can get fries for an extra $2 and onion rings for an extra $3. The total bill for 2 meals with sides and drinks only cost $28. Take that, fancy pants west side restaurants, where $28 won't even buy the most expensive main course. Her grilled chicken sandwich was a bit dry, but the barbecue sauce that was served with it was excellent. She ate the whole thing. The fries were crispy and tasty. I ordered the Maddy's Melt. I was impressed that the food came out so quickly, but I'm not sure how they managed to overcook the chicken and under cook my burger. I asked for a medium, and it was medium rare. I wasn't going to say anything, but my wife is pushier than than I am. The bartender seemed to have no issue with remaking the burger. I would've been happy if they just put mine in the microwave, but I understand why they can't for sanitary reasons. Having something remade is a mixed bag. You do get what you originally ordered, eventually. But, in the meantime, everybody else has finished their meal. The replacement sandwich came out, and it was slightly more cooked, but still not medium. I told my wife not to say anything. They were nice enough to also make another basket of onion rings to go with it. The Maddy's Melt is a half pound burger served with sautéed onions and Swiss on rye. There normally is also a slice of American cheese, but I asked for them to only use Swiss. This sandwich really has potential, but it's hard to judge with an undercooked burger. The meat tasted like standard ground beef, and was not particularly beefy like chuck would have been. It was also greasy, due to the meat and the onions. But, considering how cheap everything is here, I could definitely see ordering this again, and maybe ask for it well done so it comes out the way I want it. It will definitely be back here, since the prices are great, the drinks are strong, and the service is great. But, I will remember that this is a bar...two bars, in fact. Maybe we'll try the outside bar next time.

Tons of TVs, but still clean and not grimy at all. Even the bathrooms were super clean, which I always notice. The food is good and the portions are huge. Everything leans a little pricey, even the kids meals, but you are absolutely getting your money's worth. The adult meals came with a straight up mountain of tots. I'm not exaggerating. Like... a pile. My son got the cheeseburger off the kids menu and it was honestly big for a kids meal. He was pumped. And $2 for a 22oz Coors Light all day? That's a win. Service has always been fine for us. Lots of younger girls working as waitresses and we've never had anyone rude or inattentive. Nothing over the top, just consistent and friendly. There are random pinball machines and games in the back which feels kind of unexpected but fun. It's a great spot to watch a game, bring the kids, or just hang out. Just know your bill might be a little higher than you expect, but you won't leave hungry that's for sure.

He helped me figure out how much food I needed to feed my guests. I ended up going with a cookout-style menu. He made great suggestions, like replacing regular size burgers with sliders to appeal to adults and kids, and they could get a taste of everything else that I was serving. The sliders, toppings, buns, and chicken breasts were arranged so beautifully that I put away my serving platters and set out the takeout trays. The food was delicious and a lot of my guests commented on how nice everything looked and how good the food tasted. The price was very fair and I didn't have to cook or clean much. Pasta and salad sides also were fair priced. All the proteins were gluten-free, dairy, free, and nut free. I will make a note, we didn't discuss temperature of the burgers so this was my fault, and I am only stating so that anyone else who orders makes sure to add that to conversation. the sliders were pink inside. I will order them well done next time, no pink, for the sake of them being in a warmer for the duration of the party and keeping leftovers for the next day. The leftover chicken and sliders were just as good the next day.

Responsible alcohol service did not appear to be a priority. It was common to see visibly intoxicated patrons continue to be served, sometimes to the point where their condition was hard to ignore, and then leave without any meaningful intervention. That alone raises serious concerns about community safety. Operationally, there seemed to be very little oversight. Staff were regularly left to close the bar without an owner or manager present, despite the volume of cash moving through the business. Inventory tracking appeared inconsistent, with many items rung in under vague or generic categories rather than clearly documented. From a customer perspective, it felt chaotic and loosely managed. There also seemed to be a culture of excessive comping of drinks and blurred boundaries between ownership and patrons, which created an unprofessional atmosphere. Instead of structure and accountability, the environment felt improvised. What ultimately changed my perception permanently was how a legitimate health issue was handled. When I was unable to come in due to a serious medical situation and communicated that honestly, the response escalated quickly and aggressively rather than being handled with professionalism. That experience alone made it clear that people are disposable here. If you're looking for a bar that prioritizes responsible service, professionalism, and consistent management standards, I would think carefully before choosing this one. The optics may look improved from television, but the underlying culture did not appear to change.

I guess I never reviewed it because it was like a local watering hole feel to it, and wasn't sure if it needed to be written about. Here's why I have chosen to remedy that situation. I have been coming in several days a week during the world cup and plopping down at the bar and having my two beers while watching the 3 pm game. Every single time, through different bartenders, through different people sitting around me, through my team losing, every bit of this experience is great. Well, not my team losing. First od all, you're really not going to beat their prices during happy hour. Especially if you're a Yuengling fan like I am. Secondly, you wouldn't expect much out of it, but you will be surprised how good their food is. Look at thise chicken tenders. They are not some overbreaded tiny pieces of bird, deep fried into oblivion. They are whole chicken breasts, sliced, seasoned, coated and cooked like it matters. Without a doubt one of the best sports bars. So many TVs, patio in the front and back, and just awesome people: both as employees and customers. Highly recommend
