Our server, Derek W., truly went above and beyond--attentive, warm, and incredibly professional. We will absolutely be requesting him every time we visit. We loved our seating, which made the evening feel even more special. The food was phenomenal--starting with the calamari, tuna, and caviar. The caviar was especially outstanding... absolutely delicious. And of course, you can never go wrong with their fresh bread. For entrées, my husband had the filet mignon and loved it. The Chilean sea bass, as always, was perfection. The sides were equally impressive. Consistently a 5-star experience--Eddie V's never disappoints.

I couldn't bear to spend the amount they charged for an entree, so I got the warm goat cheese salad, and my sister & I shared the crab fried rice. Both were delicious, but the price point was awfully high. Our server, Jessie (?) was very nice and efficient, but very, very rehearsed. I felt like she was over the top with the "Is everything tasting delicious this evening?" and other such comments. It almost seemed like she walked off a stage to be the server. But, her service was good, and she was very polite, waiting until people stopped talking before she started telling us whatever she needed to say. The young man who refilled the water and bread (I didn't catch his name) was also very efficient without being obtrusive. Overall, I did enjoy it, and I certainly liked the atmosphere. Although, it was loud and very difficult to hear our tablemates.

My wife and I celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary at Ocean Prime in Troy, and I can sincerely…read moresay it was one of the most memorable dining experiences we have ever had. The day before our reservation, I stopped in to drop off flowers, a card, and a bottle of Fabric of the Land by Quilt--the same wine my wife and I shared at our wedding. I simply asked if they could help make the evening special. What the team did from there went far beyond anything we could have expected. They even thoughtfully decanted our wine a couple of hours before our arrival so it would be ready for us. From the moment we walked through the doors, the hospitality was extraordinary. The host team was incredibly kind and welcoming and escorted us to a beautiful booth they had selected for our anniversary. Every detail made us feel as though the entire team genuinely cared about making this occasion special. Nothing, however, made our evening more memorable than Teal. Her warmth, professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality were absolutely exceptional. She helped turn an already special anniversary into something my wife and I will sincerely never forget. Managers John Scholl and John Hall were also tremendous standouts. Both went out of their way to make us feel not simply welcomed, but genuinely valued. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it speaks volumes about the culture of the restaurant and the people leading it. And then there was the food--which was absolutely phenomenal. We started with the calamari and baked sea scallops, followed by the French onion soup, and everything was outstanding. We were kindly told that we could order half portions of the sides, so naturally we decided to try several: the wild mushrooms, jalapeño au gratin, street corn, and truffle mac and cheese. They even went above and beyond by bringing us the truffle popcorn from the lounge menu while we were dining in the main dining room. Every single item was incredible. For our entrées, my wife had the salmon and I had the ribeye. Both were cooked to absolute perfection, and the off-menu zip sauce with the ribeye was superb. As if the evening had not already exceeded every expectation, the team also treated us to a sample of Inniskillin Cabernet dessert wine, something we had never tried before. And because we were far too full by the end of dinner, they sent us home with an anniversary peanut butter pie to enjoy later--which was absolutely to die for. I want to give a sincere thank-you not only to Teal, John Scholl, and John Hall, but to the entire Ocean Prime team--from the hosts and service staff to the chefs and everyone working behind the scenes. An experience like this does not happen because of one person alone. It takes an entire team committed to hospitality and excellence, and that was evident throughout the entire evening. You helped create a memory for my wife and me that we will cherish for years to come. If you are looking for more than simply a great meal--if you are looking for an elevated dining experience where the food, service, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality all come together--I cannot recommend Ocean Prime Troy highly enough. We walked in excited to celebrate our anniversary and walked out as absolute raving fans. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Thank you to everyone at Ocean Prime for making our sixth anniversary something we will never forget. We cannot wait to come back as you have made raving fans out of us for life. May God truly bless you all for everything you do. Your Raving Fans, The Deane's

We were quickly seated after stating our reservation time in a table that was well decorated with birthday paraphernalia. We got the Teriyaki salmon, Chilean sea bass, blackened snapper, mushrooms, calamari. While all are recommended, I think the Chilean sea bass was the best. It was a nice and well-cooked fillet that was adequately savory and fatty, but not overtly so. It paired well with a potato mash and broccolini. I would recommend it, and it was $60. The Teriyaki salmon was OK but was not amazing. It definitely was tender and had an Asian taste to it, but nothing that made it stand out for $55. The mushroom side dish was also a highlight. There were about three different types of mushrooms, and I think they use a sauce that was based in butter. It was delicious, and I would order again. The calamari was lightly fried in a sweet chili sauce, again with a hint of Asian zing to it. I quite enjoyed it, and I thought this dish was unique and worth it. Ambiance was grand, fancy, clean, dim, yet adequately lighted. Service was on point. However, we did search for our waitress a couple of times, and the meals did come out quite slowly. I would say about 20 to 25 minutes. So if you were to come here, be sure that you are not in a rush. Overall, high-end restaurant. Dollar sign is justified.

The food quality remains subpar relative to the premium pricing, with steaks frequently served overcooked. Beyond the poor execution in the kitchen, management's failure to enforce a basic dress code or standards of decorum significantly degrades the brand, reducing what should be an elevated fine-dining atmosphere to the feel of a casual Detroit sports bar. On my initial visit, a guest inside the dining room was permitted to wear a full sweatsuit, sunglasses, and a baseball cap. Upon leaving, I discovered discarded Hennessy liquor bottles left directly beside my vehicle's front bumper. Years later, on Mother's Day, the overall ambiance remained severely compromised. An adjacent table spent considerable time individually declining multiple credit cards for baked chicken dinners, while another patron seated directly at the bar wore sagging basketball shorts below his rear end leaving his exposed undergarments directly on the stool seating. By tolerating these conditions for so long, Ruth's Chris Troy has fundamentally undermined its own culture and standard of hospitality.

I love that they offer seasonal menus so you are almost always going to find something new on the menu. Additionally, the summer menu is all under 600 calories. That's a bonus! I ordered the Grilled Corn Flatbread, hubby had the Avocado Toast, and my niece got the Filet Mignon. I didn't take a pic of every person's orders - just those flanking me. The Flatbread was excellent - it had cheese and spiced bacon as well as sour cream so the taste combination was excellent. Hubby said his Avocado Toast was the best he had ever had. Sofie asked if I had a favorite dessert (creme brulet) , and she expressed that she would make a complimentary creme brulet happen for us. Through out the evening, Sofie was terrific. she was very personable and was attentive without being annoying. I wish every server we ever have had was as outstanding as Sofie was. Being a higher end steak house, prices at this business are on the higher end of the spectrum to include their cocktails. Having said that, you can get an assortment of their craft cocktails for $10 during Happy Hour which are significantly less than what you would pay during non Happy Hour prices. Aside from the drinks, they also offer some tasty looking food options where one in particular caught my eye being the Filet Mignon Sliders (two each) which looked amazing as I watched the guy next to me devour his. I will definately be returning to try these in the very near future. Relative to staff and facility, this is a very classy establishment and definately a great place to take your significant other where they will appreciate the upscale feel and romantic vibe this business has going for it. I'm always in the mood for Beef Wellington, even before Gordon Ramsay made it popular again. I knew that it would be odd to have both Beef Wellington and a bar burger in the same meal, but I just wanted both. The Wellington included chopped beef in a flaky pastry, complemented by raspberry jam drizzles. When my bacon cheeseburger, prepared medium-rare, came, I was too full for more than one bite. Bummer. The cheeseburger was okay, similar to what I would get at an upscale burger place. In fact, it was smaller than what I remembered the last time I was here, but still quite large, and the bun was definitely fresher. We both enjoyed our meals, had a fillet a ribeye, and our sides were mac & cheese and the broccoli. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The mac & cheese could be a little bit more creamy. The broccoli was delicious, but it was spicy and I didn't recall reading any spice in the menu. We did order some drinks as they had a full bar. I will say, whoever was shaken up the drinks were making them really strong without flavor. So I enjoyed water for most of the evening. Now I wish I remembered our primary waiter. It was uncomfortable how crowded the table was and how it kept having to be rearranged to accommodate plates. The restaurant was so loud on a Friday night that it was difficult to converse. The service was lovely. Stephanie and Valincia were sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable. They treated us like gold. The food was so incredibly overpriced and I feel sick about spending $500 on this meal. The ribeye was ordered medium and came out well done so it was recooked. The next one was closer to medium rare. It was fairly tender but was mostly bland and honestly nothing special. Mac and cheese was dry and bland, asparagus was bland. The salmon was well cooked but not special. The Caesar salad was not good; the dressing didn't have a typical Caesar flavor, it was lacking oomph and the large fresh anchovies were too fishy. The chicken fried lobster was delicious, salty and crispy and the aioli was a nice complement. The pineapple upside down cake was rich, buttery, and gooey, but does not at all need caramel sauce. It's sweet enough on its own, but further, the pink peppercorns are not it. They do not belong. At this price point, I am expecting near perfection. The steak should have blown me away, and the sides should not be bland. I wish we would have tried London Chophouse or Barda instead.
