Waited 30 minutes sitting at the bar, no update or apology offered during the wait. I then asked how much longer and was eventually told a few more minutes, but they have a "new manager," so things were backed up. I've worked in a restaurant before, I understand mistakes happen. To not receive an apology stunned me, honestly. I asked to speak to manager and he told me that I needed to understand they received the order at 7:15pm and they were hosting a private event so it's not their fault. I was more stunned. I showed him on the receipt the 543pm placement time and the 7:15pm pick up time. He told me again they did not receive the order until 7:15 despite the website, receipt recording all this information. Unsurprisingly, some stuff was missing and needed to be added to complete the order. I was given an apology as I walked out by manager, but very poor experience overall. Avoid the online ordering.

One word...Disgusted! My family and I have been to Mad Mac's on several occasions since moving to DE about a year ago. We have always liked the food, friendly staff, and fun atmosphere. We usually sit on the tavern side as my teenage daughters are sports fans and can watch events on the TV's. Well, NEVER AGAIN. I have never been more appalled by the behavior of an owner then when we were here on our last visit. My wife and I with our daughters were subjected to listening to this dirty old man talk inappropriately about the staff and their features and made one waitress visibly uncomfortable by the amount of groping he was doing. He was loud, obnoxious, and crude. Not to mention a "know it all" type who in general was just plain offensive. We were not even aware of who he was until he stopped at our table to introduced himself as "Doug" the owner. I was speechless that after watching & listening to all we did HE was in charge!??? After asking about our meal/service (which is ALWAYS wonderful) he proceeds to tell us it will get better now that he is back in charge and as he is leaving looks at my 17 yr old daughter and says if she ever needs a job "he'd hire a beauty like her in a second"!!!! My wife and I were SPEECHLESS and my daughter embarrassed. We will NEVER return to this restaurant and this review is one of many I will be posting to social media for all to see. I hope the staff there all quit or sue this disgusting person until he is gone. We will Mad Macs and the great food but this was too much by someone who calls themself an owner. read more

Not impressed! The food was underwhelming and the service was horrible! We heard so many great things about the Mac n cheese so of course we wanted to check it out! We went this past Thursday for burger night. We sat at a table close to the bar and was greeted by a young lady named Marisa. She didn't offer any suggestions and seemed completely unaware of anything that was on the menu. After waiting for what felt like an eternity for our drinks, we asked her if she forgot about us and she asked us to remind her what we ordered. Our food took a long time to come out, which we know isn't her fault, but we watched her chit chat and fool around while we waited for our food. Once our food came out our Mac n cheese was cold. We didn't get a chance to tell her because she didn't come back to the table. We asked about desert options and instead of bringing us the menu she just brought us the check. My husband and I have come to LOVE this place more and more with each visit! The service is always awesome, and the food and drinks are worth every calorie! We went tonight for a quick bite after work. Our server, Lora, was awesome! Very attentive but not intrusive. Thoughtful and personable, she anticipated our needs and never rushed us. Added bonus is that we always have leftovers to take home -- fair prices and generous portions. We LOVE the new way they are preparing and serving their nachos! I never thought I'd like a mac'n'cheese more than my mom's own homemade recipe, but sorry, mom, you have been beat. Mad Mac's Portobello Mac now holds my tastebuds captive. The salty goat cheese and plump mushrooms are delicious, and the hint of truffle oil brings out the fuill flavor while also making me feel a little classy. I love Mad Macs. read more

Fortunately, this saga has a happy ending: great wings and discounted beer. I think C3 Tavern BBQs their wings before finishing them off. They offer a house sauce and an Old Bay sauce, and if you ask nicely, they'll even do a 50/50 mix. The wings were meaty, flavorful, and cooked just right. The adventure didn't stop there. We took our wings across the street to Elk River Brewing, where they were trying to kick a keg and offering $3 draft specials. You know how I feel about beer and anything half-price. There was a concert in Elkton that night, so the brewery was filled with chatty, excited concertgoers. Between the wings, the beer, and the people-watching, it was a great afternoon filled with some of my favorite things.

So with that I stand 50/50. This place has no foot traffic and no signage. The location already failed as a hotel once before the renovation. So If they cant work on being consistent I don't see it lasting. I may or may not go back.
