The restaurant is cute, has parking, and the ambience is nice. The service, however, could be improved. There were plenty of employees, but they all seemed to be moving around without much direction. The wait time wasn't terrible, but I'm sure it could be better if everyone was actively helping--especially with things like cleaning the restrooms. The trash was overflowing, and the bathrooms needed attention. As for the food, it was just okay. Everything looked great, but the flavor was lacking. My huevos divorciados had almost no seasoning, and the only strong taste I got was the burnt flavor from the crispy tortilla. I've been to many breakfast spots and consider myself a serious coffee drinker, so I'll start there the coffee was a real disappointment. Both the latte and the brewed coffee tasted burnt, and unfortunately, it set a negative tone for the rest of the meal. The latte was slightly better, but still not enjoyable. For a restaurant with such potential, upgrading to better-quality coffee should be a priority it truly sets the standard for the entire dining experience. Another missed opportunity is the lack of chips and salsa at the start of the meal. Most Mexican restaurants offer this as a signature welcome, and adding warm chips here would help the restaurant stand out and give guests a stronger first impression. As for the food, I ordered the chile relleno omelette without salsa, and it was very good. However, the beans on the side were served lukewarm. My sister's omelette (stuffed with chilaquiles) was about a 7/10. My dad had the chorizo con huevo and said it was just "okay," while my mom did not enjoy her dish at all. Service started strong but quickly declined. Our server went on break, leaving us unattended for about 10 minutes. When we flagged down a waitress, she was polite, but the kitchen forgot my sister's plate. The mistake wasn't acknowledged, which left us feeling overlooked. On a positive note, I really like the décor it feels warm and inviting. The atmosphere makes you want to root for this place. But ultimately, taste and service matter most, and both fell short. With a few key improvements--better coffee, consistent food quality, attentive service, and small touches like chips and salsa--this restaurant could really thrive. They have a parking lot with free parking so there's no issue there They have a water station by the entrance and two sides to the restaurant. The side we sat on had nice greenery and neon light. The outside is nothing to eye catching. I had an Oreo shake for $7.50 and it was delicious. The chilaquiles Verdes had a great presentation and is over black bean puree with sour cream drizzle I got "the one" which is a cheese breakfast sandwich with birria, eggs (you can choose how you like it), pork rinds, consommé soup on the side and crispy bacon. It sounds delicious, right? It was way too much for me. Maybe a four out of 10. There are the pieces of pork rind that seemed to be just thrown on. The consume soup was delicious though. The pork wines were smashed into the sandwich which I didn't like. The bread was cheesy and delicious and everything was good separated, but not together. The birria was a bit of a disappointment though. Next time i come i want to try the wilma! I probably would have better luck. This is just my opinion by the way, I love the vision and where they were trying to go with the sandwich. The service was great and they got our food out less than 10 minutes from when we ordered. We drove in from Arizona and my daughter said she wanted chilaquiles. I asked some local friends and they said they had been to all of the Madre's locations and we should definitely meet up there. We were not disappointed at all by the food, the mimosas and the coffee. My teen especially loved the photo op areas in the restaurant. She said the vibes were immaculate. This would have been the end of my review normally. However, we had a few mimosas and decided to take an uber back to our air bnb to be safe. Not realizing the restaurant was gated. So imagine my surprise when I went back around 5 pm and my car was locked in and no way to get it! Thankfully they didn't tow the car. But I frantically went to neighbors homes, called the tow company, the sheriffs office and left an instagram message on Madre's page. I really didn't think they would see it due to the crazy large following they have but to my suppose the owner himself (Mel) gave me a call and assured me everything would be ok. He phased if he needed to send someone that night or if I wanted to get it in the morning. Because we had other plans we opted for the morning. He let his staff know about the situation as well as security so that my car was safe. This was above and beyond customer service. Truly so grateful for kind humans. This was more than just about great food. This was truly life saving. It showed my teen that there is good in the world still. So thank you Mel. Found this place on TikTok. It's very cute! However be prepared for a wait. We waited about an hour before getting seated. Once seated the waiter was very friendly and attentive with our large party. We all tried something different and everyone was happy with the order as far as food. The drinks were ok. From the coffee flight the pistachio coffee just wasn't my thing but one coffee out of 4 I would say is not bad. Same thing with the Agua Frescas the horchata was just not the best for me. (USING THE HOTS MAKES SENSE) It's all about appearance more than it is quality here because the food is not good at all and the vibes are, I guess, set up for decent social media posts, which is kinda tacky. My wife yet again had to face the awkwardness of close contact as one of the girls in the big party extended her harm out for a cheap family selfie. This girl's hand nearly bumped into my wife's face as she reached out for that selfie. I know this is not the restaurants fault overall. I'm just amazed at how some people can be so programmed to their phones that they have become completely oblivious to their surroundings. ANYway ... We tried the green chilaquiles and a traditional breakfast (a must for us for any brunch spots.) The chilaquiles were presented very neatly but were just okay. I asked for a sunny side up egg on the chilaquiles and it was done poorly (see pic.) As for their take on a traditional American breakfast, I'll just say to overall avoid it here. I appreciated the cooks trying but the hash browns were just a flat, (for lack of a better way to put it) burned salty surface that I'm certain was just frozen, precooked hash that was just slapped on the griddle to a crisp. The waffles were also akin to high school cafeteria quality as it was dry and tasted cheap. It was also surprising to see how sort of sad their scrambled eggs were. Just not good at all. Even their house coffee was underwhelming as I'm almost certain it was just a K-Cup brew. Overall, check out the vibes if that's what you value more than a great brunch dish.
