I haven't been eating a lot since my surgery but today I woke up and had an ungodly craving for chilaquiles. I did a quick yelp search and this place came up. (I never would of known about this place if it wasn't for Yelp) I only live a couple miles from here. It is tucked away It has private parking and some outdoor and indoor seating (again, would not of known about this place if it wasn't for yelp) Maria greeted us and told us to sit anywhere. In the middle of waiting for, Maria to take our order, I got extremely sick. Between not eating much lately, the medication from surgery and the pain, it felt like I was going to faint and I started to get shaky. I came here with my mom, so she went to the counter to see if there was anything small and already made that I could eat In a hurry. Carlos, overheard everything and started getting me some country potatoes. Which came to the table within 2 minutes. I am extremely thankful for this and honestly, some places wouldn't have done this / made it a priority. So right out the gate, 5 stars for service. (When the bill came they didn't even charge me for them) after we paid, I went to the back and thanked Carlos. Now with that out of the way The place is really cute. It's your typical breakfast/brunch/lunch place that closes at 2:30 They have a simple brunch menu. They have your breakfast burritos, wagyu brunch burger, omelets and their the churro French toast looked amazing!! We got plain pancakes and they did have sugar free syrup, which is a bonus. Not all places have it Chilaquiles - you can pick between green sauce, red sauce or creamy chipotle sauce. I LOVE any kind of chipotle sauce. So I asked if they could do the red sauce and chipotle sauce. (The creamy chipotle was out of this world) it came with beans and country potatoes. Maria asked if I wanted eggs or meat, I declined. I also asked for no onions or cilantro. Which is exactly how it came out. The beans were also amazing. They tasted fresh and homemade. Nothing was overly salty This place also had a good size selection of drinks (such as different coffees) however, I did not notice if they had mimosas and other alcohol beverages. Cute little atmosphere Good menu and good food And I'm really thankful for the service. Staff went above and beyond I would 100 percent come back. Stopped by for breakfast while we were in the area and after a morning filled with errands. I've had this place on my radar, but never really stopped until today. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but they have tables outside and on the patio to enjoy the nice morning breeze. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. It was a bit busy, so some bigger parties had to wait, but they are quick, so the wait shouldn't be too bad. I ordered the chorizo con huevos, and it was so good and filling. It came with obviously chorizo with scrambled eggs, avocado, beans, and house potatoes with corn tortillas. Great portions and very filling. I enjoyed my food with an iced vanilla latte that was on the sweeter side but still good. Overall, really cute breakfast stop with great food. Mia's is a cute little place that has a fun French vibe, but a more Hispanic menu. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, and the serving size was pretty decent, but I felt like there was a bit of an identity crisis happening. Parking was easy, and there's patio seating, so if it's a nice day, you can sit in the sun and enjoy your coffee and pancakes. Our server was great and on point. The meals weren't too pricy, and pretty much what you'd expect to pay nowadays. Overall we enjoyed our first visit. Pleasant surprise for a small restaurant with one cook and picnic tables outside. The food was so good and the service super friendly and efficient. Off the beaten path, so it wasn't as crowded as some restaurants at the center of town. We didn't have 45 minutes to wait on a Saturday morning so called Mia's and found there was a 10-15 minute wait. While there was a steady stream of guests, not a lot of waiting for tables. After a 12-hour night shift, I had to get my tires fixed and ended up handing my car over to the capable hands of the shop. With some time to spare, I walked down to Mia's Cafe--and I'm glad I did. This is a cute, family-owned café with a welcoming feel. I ordered a coffee (of course!) and the avocado toast--something light enough to keep me going without putting me to sleep. And let me just say... this was real avocado toast, not guacamole spread. It came with a fried egg, bacon, spinach, and fresh sliced avocado, and it was satisfying and well put together. Nothing over-the-top, just a solid, enjoyable breakfast. Service was great--I was greeted warmly, attended to quickly, and my food came out fast, which was exactly what I needed after a long shift. The prices are average and menu isn't overwhelming. Our server was attentive and friendly. I ordered Mia's breakfast platter, which came with eggs, bacon, chicken sausage and my choice of French toast or pancakes. Everything tasted decent except the house potatoes were slightly undercooked in my opinion. I found this place because it appeared on my Instagram feed and decided to try it out! Mia's café can be located in an industrial area in Smill Hill, which is part of Long Beach. There was plenty of parking and indoor and outdoor seating. The waiter was outside and kept the door open for us. We sat down immediately. There were a couple of other tables. It seemed like our waiter was solo, but he handled all the guest very well. I believe our waiter's name is Marvin, he was polite, attentive, and had a great customer service with everyone. My daughter and I ordered the Chilaquiles's with ribeye that came with eggs and potatoes and the fancy French toast. I wasn't sold under coffee either. I love me a good café diner coffee and this one just didn't give anything for me. We've had Chilaquiles's at other restaurants so we might be a little biased and we're not sold on them completely. They just lacked the right flavor and the ribeye had tons of fat. We were hoping that they had a different type of steak for them, but we left most of the meat on the plate because of the fat. The French toast was amazing! The presentation and the flavors were all there. There is a cream cheese frosting in between the French toast. That was amazing. Was in the Long Beach area and stopped by Mia's Cafe for a late breakfast--and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Pork Belly Brunch Burrito, and it was absolutely amazing. The pork belly was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and they definitely don't skimp on the portion size. Every bite was packed with flavor. Pro tip: ask for their spicy hot sauce--it's not automatically served, but it takes the burrito to another level. My gf ordered the ribeye burrito but with an addition of pork belly! She absolutely loved it! The meat was tender and the pork belly was melt in your mouth worthy! As we were waiting to eat, we spotted some people next to our table ordered Cafe De Olla! My gf was curious...so of course we ordered it! And look, when i tell you that i don't like coffee and I thought this was NEXT LEVEL....is not a lie! Haha! I cannot rave about it enough! We will be coming back for that alone! It definitely is off the beat and path but the it has a 4.5 on here. Parking is limited, you have to park on the street, which there is plenty of. I happen to be off early and my friend that I was hanging with likes to try new places. Right off the bat server was great but it took a long time to get anything we ordered. Even to get a refill on coffee. Breakfast sandwich was very tasty, bacon was cooked as ordered and potatoes were delicious wish for a bigger portion served. Although he mentioned desserts are not made in house I still went for Cheesecake, ahhhh I could have done without. I appreciate the glaze and blueberries, it made it palatable. This place is a hidden gem. It's located on 28th between Junipero & Signal Parkway. Four dishes and all 4 were good. I want to go back already and try some more stuff on the menu. Finding Mia's Kitchen in Signal Hill can be a bit of a challenge, but it is clearly a local favorite because even on a Monday morning, nearly every table was packed. The menu offers a great Mexican-American breakfast fusion, and after trying the food, it is easy to see why the place stays so busy. We both went with Mia's breakfast platter, one with pancakes and the other with French toast and paired them with a hazelnut latte that was honestly incredible. The espresso was super smooth with the perfect amount of sweetness, and as someone who is usually sensitive to lactose, I was thrilled that it didn't cause any of the usual bloating. The food itself was just as impressive as the coffee. The pancakes hit that elusive balance of being a little sweet, a little savory, and slightly crispy around the edges. They avoided that common issue of being too dry or heavy on the batter, making them incredibly easy to enjoy. The French toast was equally amazing, clearly made with a high-quality brioche that was rich and buttery. Even the sides stood out; the sausage was perfectly salty in the best way possible. While you might have to hunt a little to find the front door and should definitely expect a longer wait on the weekends, the quality of the meal makes it well worth the effort. Food was delicious, but service was where this place got dinged. Not recommended if you were planning eat with your dinner partners at the same time. Looking at the website, we loved that it was a retro family run diner. What we didn't see was that the place gets overrun with takeout orders. As a result, the poor waitress doesn't have time to take orders and the kitchen gets backed up. We arrived at 9:30. We had to wave the waitress down several times before waitress was able to take our order at 9:50. One dish of four arrived at 10:20. Then 10 mins later, two more dishes arrived. Sadly, the crew couldn't eat their meals as we were not given silverware. The over easy egg was served over-cooked. The whole wheat toast was served without butter or jelly. I ended up walking inside to ask for a remake of the eggs and helped bus the butter/jelly. My dish finally came out 10 mins later. The food is fantastic. Mia's was the perfect halfway place between where I live and a friend lives. We met there today for lunch and we're served by Marvin an excellent waiter! My friend and I hadn't seen each other in quite a few years so we ended up talking way past finishing our meal and Marvin was very accommodating and refreshed. Our water kept checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed while not pressuring us to leave. About the food... We both were intrigued by the ribeye burrito and Marvin said it was one of the best things on the menu so we trusted him and he did not lie. We both loved it and the potatoes that came with. It were so good so perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside . Perfect perfection! I kind of wish we had tried two different things, but will be back to do exactly that sometime soon. The churros are next level! This picture does not describe how good they taste. Mia is tucked away in an industrial area so you know the food is good. They had a good selection of dishes and I went with the standard which was bacon and eggs and what was nice is you could select French toast. Went to the bank and quickly searched a breakfast/brunch spot that was close. Mia's came up with 5 stars and decided to try it. We ordered regular French toast w/toppings and (can't remember name) the fried tortillas w/fries egg and red sauce, and a Hazelnut Capp and fresh OJ. The waitress was very nice! She had great service; while a bit slow and she kinda forgot about my Capp and my son's side of eggs. I truly was not bothered b/c she was so nice. I can tell this is a family owned spot. The inside is kinda small, so not really good for large parties imo. There's a small outdoor eating area and the parking lot is a bit small, so we just parked on the street. Visited on a Saturday for brunch around 11am and they were busy but were able to seat me within 20 mins. The location is near a bunch of warehouses but there is plenty of parking. I ordered the veggie omelette with sourdough toast and it was super good, the vegetables were very fresh and flavorful. I also had a vanilla iced coffee and it was very good, not too sweet and not too bitter. The server was very nice and attentive and made sure we always had everything we needed like refills and condiments. Prices were also reasonable, not crazy like most other places these days. Oh! And the restrooms were very clean and actually smelled fine lol like most places have gross restrooms but they actually maintain it here. read more

I knew right away this place was going to be good since law enforcement personnel were eating here! Everything is made from scratch, so it may take a awhile. I ordered the Cowboy Eggs and a side of pancakes and my significant other ordered the steak chilaquiles! Pancakes were by far one of the best tasting I have had! They literally melted in my mouth. I went out to lunch with a friend, and he mentioned this place was so good he'd be willing to visit twice in one week. He was especially raving about their turkey club, so that's exactly what I ordered. The Turkey Club comes on ciabatta bread with basil mayo, turkey breast, spinach, tomato, avocado, bacon, havarti cheese, and is served with a side of home fries. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best turkey sandwich I've ever had. They use real turkey breast instead of the typical deli meat, and that really makes a difference. All of the ingredients work perfectly together. I'm actually considering going back right now as I write this review. It's also a good portion. I was pleasantly surprised by how big it was, so I definitely feel it was a great value. It was a little messy with the creaminess of the avocado, but I'll take a messy but delicious sandwich over a neat and bland one any day. The staff were super friendly too. Our server was excellent. He was attentive, had great customer service, and a good sense of humor. The restaurant itself was very cozy. There was plenty of natural light from all the windows, and despite the tables being a little close together, it never felt cramped. Visited here for a weekday brunch with coworkers. You might miss it if you don't know it's there because it's in an industrial park-like area. There's construction going on in the complex, but everything is open. The parking lot was small, but all 3 of us were able to find a spot (and parking was free). Our server ended up being the owner. Her husband is the chef and she runs the front house operations. She was so sweet and took great care of us! She brought out the cutest little apps on the house while we waited for our food. I had the 3-meat omelet and it was delicious! It was packed with meat, and I loved that they used turkey sausage. I'm a big eater and hadn't eaten when I sat down here (and the food came out around noon), so I was starving, but I could only finish half of my meal. Any entree that stretches to 2 full meals for me is a win in my book! For 3 entrees and 3 iced coffees, I think the tab was around $60 before tip.
