I visited Madres Brunch in Bellflower on a Saturday around 11:45 AM and had made a reservation. Check-in was smooth, and our waiter came over quickly. He was very friendly, attentive, and kind throughout the meal--that part was great. The location itself has one big downside: horrible parking. They really need better options or more spaces. On the positive side, the menu has lots of variety, including vegan and vegetarian options, which is a huge plus for someone like me who's pescatarian. They also offered soy chorizo, so I decided to try the Chilaquiles in red sauce with soy chorizo and scrambled eggs (I asked for them soft). Unfortunately, the dish didn't turn out well. The eggs arrived as regular scrambled eggs instead of soft, and they were overcooked and underseasoned. The tortillas were soggy and mushy--no crunch at all. It looked like the chips had been sitting in sauce for a while; they were puffed up and soaked rather than crispy. The red sauce tasted like it had been sitting out too. I have texture issues, so the mushy consistency was especially disappointing for me. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich, and he loved it. His meal was perfect--he's a meat eater and had no complaints. We also got the margarita flight for $27, but it was basically just juice with no noticeable alcohol. We added a shot on the side, and that tasted watered down too, which was weird. When we asked the waiter what kind of tequila was in the margaritas, he seemed unsure and said it was "L something." There was no visible bar near the hostess or waiter station, so I was confused about where the liquor was coming from. He mentioned it might be "well" or house-made, but when I asked if it was 100% agave tequila, he said yes--which doesn't make sense if they're making it in-house. Right after we left, both my husband and I felt a little off, which made me wonder about the quality of the alcohol. The real kicker happened while we were eating: we noticed a waiter to our right at the bussing cart. He picked up a champagne flute with leftover mimosa in it and drank from it right there in front of everyone. That was pretty gross. If that's happening in plain view, it makes you wonder what goes on behind the scenes. Overall, the service was friendly and the menu has good options (especially for vegetarians/pescatarians), but the food execution, drinks, and that hygiene moment were major letdowns. My husband enjoyed his meal, but mine was a miss. I'm giving it 3 stars--it probably should be lower, but I'm trying to be nice. I'll probably skip it next time or stick to something simpler if we return.

Came here for Monday brunch. Service was great and environment was inviting. Their margaritas were delicious. I had the Chilaquiles Rojo with birria. Enjoyable?!? It was eatable and not spicy at all. Wish it had more meat. I love Mexican food but this time I ate maybe less than half of my meal. The venue was cute, food looks appealing but don't think I'll be coming back again and if I do it will be for the drinks!

3.5 stars. The phood photographs phantastically, but sad to say that the outside doesn't match the inside. Have you ever met someone who looks really put together on the outside only to get a "taste" of them & the inside and outside just don't match? Well. That was my experience with Madre's. The food looks much better than it tastes but whoever designed the food did a stellar job. If you don't have a picky palate and you are fooled by aesthetics, this place is for you, but I'm an authentic kinda gal. If you look really good on the outside, you better be just as good- if not better on the inside.

Although I had such a fun time with my girlfriends when we went here, I'm not sure I would come back just based on what I ordered and tried at the time. I ordered the birria omelette for $20... I was expecting to be wow-ed, but it was very average tasting. The meat needed more seasoning and the consume was lukewarm. I opted for a side salad instead of beans because I was low-carb at the time, so I appreciated the substitution. I was able to try my girlfriend's chilaquiles and they were okay... I think the plating was beautiful but it needed more seasoning! If I were to come back again, I would try their pancakes because those look delicious! Wasn't ecstatic about this visit.

I was here 20 days ago for my birthday and today I introduced my husband and two of my kids to Madres after training! Will be back to try everything else! We had the same waiter as last time and we love him, I hope we had his name right (Keven?) he served my sisters and I for my bday and today he served my husband and our 2 boys

The food was absolutely delicious! My friend had the chilaquiles (verde), it was a little dry, but flavorful. Requested a side of salsa verde & it was great. The churro french toast was UH-mazing. Would definitely order again!!!! We will be back.

Came here for my first time, it was nice inside a little warm inside. Was sat down immediately which was nice. Had a hard time choosing what to eat whether it was sweet or savory. I'm glad I chose the sweet as a friend did savory and I was able to try. I would say I think their sweet is better than the savory dishes. Service was pretty good, had a few mix ups with other tables for drinks and food. Does seem fresh though because it did take awhile for food to come out. I would try again another sweet dish.

Madres is definitely a spot worth checking out. If you're not in bellflower they have 7 other locations it looked like so you're in luck. The majority of the seating is in their patio that is open door. So in the winter definitely dress warmer. The restaurant is super clean and lively. Lots of servers and everyone is super friendly and attentive. Food wise the chilaquiles were really good! Big portion. Just wish there was more chicken. But flavor was solid. The lates were amazing and they have a big menu. They do coffees flights, mimosa flights, and margarita flights so if you're looking to get a drink it's a good spot for a weekend brunch! Overall place was solid. Would definitely come back!

The service was fast, efficient and the food still turned out delicious! The waitstaff are very kind and warm. You do have to get on the waitlist to sit for weekend brunches typically but since the service is quick and efficient, it's not as bad of a wait as one would think! I also seriously loved the horchata latte that I had before the main food items!

Red Chilaquiles w/ steak. Mole chilaquiles. A side of pancakes. Horchata frappe. Pink lemonade.

Food was good. Drinks were good. Service was good everyone was very attentive. Super chill place has outside and inside seating. Red chilaquiles are a lil spicy. Would come again to try something else.

Another great visit to Madres! Third trip in three weeks! This time I took my husband. It was a very busy Sunday and we were able to find street parking. We ordered one savory and one sweet dish. The Birria Omelet is one of my favorites so we ordered that. We both lived the beans too! Just amazing as always! We ordered the Pistashio Waffle for dessert. Really loved the Pistahio ice cream! Just love eating family style, highly recommend sharing! For drinks I ordered my favorite Marzipan Latte (hot). My husband ordered a Michelada and a coffee. He loved the Michelada, definitely one of the best! Very special place!

BEWARE!!!! They will rip you off. Food is good. Place was clean. My bill was right. I ordered 1 Birria Banedict - $19.00 and an Horchata - $7.00. Bill total - $28.67. I tipped 18% should have been no more than $34.00 tip and all. They way over charged my credit card. $40.02. Too late and too far to go back for my money. Never again. 1 person over $40. 00

The short rib omelette was savory but didn't give me any wow factor compared to the other dishes I ordered. The tropical pancakes were so pretty. Unfortunately, the reality falls noticeably short of that expectation. While the food itself is serviceable, it never rises beyond what you might expect from a standard at-home breakfast spread. Nothing on the table felt particularly memorable, inventive, or worth returning for. The biggest disappointment came in the details, but really lack thereof. The fruit served alongside the meal had the unmistakable appearance and texture of pre-packaged, bulk-distributed produce, lacking the freshness and vibrancy you would hope for from a restaurant positioning itself as a neighborhood kitchen. It gave more cafeteria than curated brunch. Service also struggled to meet even basic hospitality standards. Water refills required repeated attempts to get someone's attention, and neighboring tables were similarly left flagging down staff for utensils and tableware. Once the order was placed and food delivered, attentiveness seemed to disappear almost entirely. I'm not sure where the standard is set.. Given the location and atmosphere, there's an expectation of a more refined and welcoming experience, but the execution never quite supports the price point or reputation. If you do visit, avoid outdoor seating unless you're prepared for an even more disconnected service experience. Ultimately, there are far better places to spend your brunch budget. Especially when this is the kind of meal many could comfortably recreate at home with fresher ingredients and more care. If you're going to have competitive price points for these meals they should at least match.
