Over the phone I was quoted $600.00 and the person on the phone didn't even ask what kind of vehicle I had. When I called AAA they sent me to Fisher/Martin automotive which was 1 hour and 15 minutes from where I was. I was so upset I didn't understand why I had to go so far for a repair. THEN I met Jeff and Gary. They looked at my van quickly and had an estimate of a fraction of the cost of what I was quoted everywhere else. I went to lunch and came back and it was ready to go again. (And to be fair Sergio seemed to be a bit boggled by the issue I brought him but he still went ahead and did a repair...) Fast forward a few months and the issue still persisted, and the transmission ended up not shifting into other gears, so I ended up taking it to a specialty transmission shop yesterday (03.18.2026). All in all I would recommend this shop but maybe just for simple repairs and nothing too out of the ordinary since they do not specialize in any particular area of autos. *Also, it would've been better if they just said that they dont or wont touch the transmission. Unfortunately the repair that was done here may have ultimately damaged the internals because of lack of knowledge with this vehicle. *On another note, I called the number provided on Yelp (and also what I had saved on my phone) and another "Sergio" answered claiming to be a car wash person and he was confused on how I got "his" number. If they did change the number they should disclose it on Yelp so others wont call the wrong person/ repair shop. (Number I called was 805.483.7901 as it shows on Google and Yelp.) This is not to bash anyone, im simply stating that if a shop is not knowledgable on a particular vehicle they (the shop) can choose to offer the client an alternative shop instead of taking on work they cant fulfill or diagnose correctly. The GR86 is not your average commuter car, and its suspension setup is more specialized than what many general repair shops work with daily. In my case, the car is also not driven hard or abused. It's used normally, with no track use, no canyon driving habits, and no aggressive treatment that would reasonably point toward premature suspension wear. Dont bring your car here!…read more I had my radiator was replaced when Jason was still here. Jason was a really great man. Floyd, however, is very rude and condescending. 6 months after my radiator was replaced, the new one started leaking. I called and spoke to Floyd, who stated that if the radiator is the issue, they would replace it under warranty. Three times I brought my care here, and the first two times he said it's not the radiator. So those first two times he charged me a diagnostic fee. This being my only car, I had to pay Uber fees to get it there, and get back. On top of the diagnostic charges. The first time he told me it was the water pump and tried to charge me $900. I bought it for $100 on rockauto.com and replaced it, and still had a coolant leak, so it wasn't the water pump. I took it back to him and he told me it's the coolant hose and charged me yet another diagnostic fee. I let him replace it, and it was still leaking coolant. I took it to him a third time and he said it is the radiator and replaced it for free. Or at least he says they replaced it. Once I got it back, I now have an oil leak that I didn't have before, and it still leaks coolant! The only reason I am not suing him is because I decided to get a new car. So he charged me two diagnostic fees when I was right the first time, and I had to pay Uber fees every single time I brought it here. Two Uber charges to get it there, two Uber charges back, three times. And that is on top of his incorrect diagnostic fees. And now I have a car that still leaks coolant, but also now leaks oil. I say it again, do not bring your car here!
