If you enjoy excellent food in a relaxed, community atmosphere Magdalena's Creperie is as good as it gets. Check out the website and click on menu to see some of the delicious crepes that are offered. Magdalena does most if not all of the cooking and her big smile and authentic enthusiasm fills the place. The staff were very friendly and attentive, pricing more than reasonable and be sure to pay special attention to the special of the day as everything is made from scratch. I am not aware of any place in Bellingham that offers anything remotely similar to the quality offered at Magdalena's. -------------------------------------------- Wow I've enjoyed many of Magdalena's crepes and as I was poking around Yelp adding a couple new reviews I decided to check back and read what others are experiencing at Magdalena's. I have a theory that there is a wormhole located in Fairhaven near the creperie and customers are unknowingly being transported to the other side of the universe and eating anti-Magdalena's Crepes. This makes the most sense to me because my experience has been so good every time. Servers have always been attentive but to be honest I wouldn't care if the servers frickin ignored me as long as the crepes keep coming. I was shocked at the low ratings - the owner made a comment here that the husband and wife team taste their own food daily and wouldn't serve anything they would not serve their grandmother. At least one of the owners are probably on site every day and ideally get notified if you don't get anything less than one of the best crepes you've ever tasted. You owe it to yourself to enjoy one of these Magdalena Crepes - and if there is a wormhole transporting customers to an anti-Magdalena creperie I bet the owners would hook you up with a free dinner if you could point out the location of that damn thing so they can block it. read more

Seats about 36 on the inside with a table that can hold a max group of 5 at one table. I assume they can shuffle smaller tables together if you call ahead or they are not busy. Most tables are small set up in pairs or 4 seats. Outdoors has 2 tables with umbrellas. Smells yummy. They have buckets of Nutella so this place is quality. Accept no substitutions... They serve breakfast all day and it is delicious. We ordered both the sweet and savory crepes and OMG, these are the best crepes I've ever had outside of a French lady's kitchen. It's a bit spendy so not an every weekend kind of thing, our bill for 2 people, basically 2 crepes, macchiato and egg dish for 40 bucks. But delicious so its worth it as an occasional treat. Coffee was also excellent, which concerns me because I don't typically like Stumptown coffee. I didn't ask but they had a Stumptown logo on the wall. Check the specials on the board or ask. The service was fine. It's a place of business and in my opinion you don't need to be my best chatty friend to serve me delicious food and efficient customer service. I don't give five stars until I visit again and service is consistent. This place seems to be a prime candidate for five stars though. read more

I had the best experience here while visiting Fairhaven for the day. The service was so nice, and they split the checks for me and my friends at the end which made everything so good. The best experience though was with their chai and their food. I ordered the eggs scrambled with any 3 items and I chose cheese, garlic and asparagus. It was SO delicious. The garlic was whole roasted cloves that were chopped into the eggs. The eggs were tender and moist, and cooked perfectly. Everything was seasoned really lovely. The toast came with my own little home made jam compote in the cutest little jar, it was so so great. I really wanted to try the cauliflower soup special of the day, but it had chicken broth in it so as a vegetarian I was not able to but I bet it was delicious. My two friends got different crepe items and both were totally satisfied with the flavors and portion size - and they also loved the chai !!! I also got a peanut butter crepe, and it was so delicious and the crepe was cooked perfectly. It was just a really lovely experience. I don't care what any of the other reviewers say, honestly this place is really good. Definitely give it a try !!!! They have integrity, and their heart is in the food !! A few places in town had vaccine requirements (and automatic gratuity) so this was our second choice. I refuse to support those kinds of businesses, where personal choice and freedoms are taken away. After pouring over the menu for awhile, finally settled on the "chefs choice" crepe. It was incredible! Sausage, roasted veggies, cheese, basil, topped with greens. We loved it! What a lovely place, with excellent food. And the servers were sweet as well! Came here today with my kids in tow. It was fairly early - around 9am, and we all thought crepes would be great for breakfast, on such a sunny, toasty Bellingham morning. It was already too bright and hot to have our meal outside so we ventured inside. What a cute place, with large wicker chairs with comfy padded seats, round tables and an intimate bistro-like "feel". One kid had a crepe with asparagus and brie and she loved it. The other had a crepe with goat cheese and prosciutto. She also loved it but, for me, the prosciutto was way too salty. I opted for an egg dish (scrambled eggs with mozzarella and ham) and, I have to say, these were some of the very best eggs I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned and simply delicious. Truly delicious. It came with some small rounds of toast with jam in the smallest, cutest compote jar ever! Very cute presentation. I ordered a cup of tea. The tea cup was enormous (and very colorful, too). I was a bit surprised when, later when we got the bill, I saw that they charged an extra 75 cents when I asked for some honey with the tea (I'd never seen a surcharge for honey before for my tea, anywhere! Would've been nice to know in advance there was a surcharge - but I still would have ordered it regardless). Other than the honey issue (which is pretty minor), the only other pseudo-issue we had with this place was the wait time for our food. It took a long, long time after ordering to get our meals (roughly 30 minutes or more). The restaurant was not busy at all, so this wait time was surprising. That said, the food was really wonderful, our server was lovely, and we really enjoyed our breakfast here. We will certainly return when we next visit BHam! read more

The crepes here are made with whole wheat. I found the crepe batter to be sweeter than most. I ordered a mozzarella cheese and ham crepe, unfortunately it was only alright. The crepe was over crispy along the edges. I appreciated the use of a nice smoked ham but the fatty bits made the whole thing way too oily. It would have been better if some of the fat had been trimmed. I'll give it another change but I prefer ABCrepes. read more

I did try this little nook and loved the ambiance, It's very cute and elegant in one venue. The food was, "okay". Had a 'baked crepe' that was made with ham, onion, spinach, and parmesan. It was presented well, just undercooked. Lukewarm was not how I would like to see something coming out cooked. It was also lacking in flavor, very bland. I'm hoping that they make some changes to add a pop in flavor to their items. Stumbled upon this quaint creperie in Fairhaven's retail core. The aroma of freshly prepared crepes will get you at the door! A cute little Polish Creperie in historic downtown Bellingham. My wife ordered the #5: prosciutto, Brie, asparagus, arugula and caramelized onions... WAS SO DELICIOUS!! I ordered the medium pierogi (chefs choice) with mix of beef/pork, cabbage/onion and potato/cheese combinations. I preferred the cabbage one the best. Prices are a little high for for a college town but I get it due to the newer building and older yuppies that were dining at the tables around us. Will never return. I placed large "to go" order of almost $100 with my family with expectation of eating at two of the three outside tables. Weather was beautiful, and we were more comfortable sitting outside because of Covid. After waiting an unreasonably long time for the order to be prepared (at least 40 minutes), we realized that smaller orders of people who ordered after us were prepared before ours. When finally received food, the larger outside table we were waiting for that had been vacated by previous customers at least 15 minutes prior had not been cleared/cleaned. An extremely rude employee came out and cleaned only a portion of that table saying nothing. Thinking he would return to clean that table so we could sit, we stood up from the small table across the sidewalk and approached the larger table. The employee, instead of cleaning the remainder from the table we were obviously waiting to sit at, again said nothing and removed the chairs from the smaller table we had been sitting at. When I said we were waiting for the food from their business to eat outside, he rudely said they are closed and refused to leave us any place eat while he continued to remove remaining chairs and table with no explanation. I've never experienced a business so blatantly rude with their customer service. Even if they were closing, there is always work that has to be done inside a restaurant before they can actually call it a day. Our food was unreasonably delayed because of them, yet we didn't complain. How hard would it have been to let us sit and eat for 15 minutes? To make things even worse, my expensive, almost $15 "savory" crepe was the worst crepe ever and had to be thrown out. It wasn't just me because I was mad--other family members tasted it and refused to eat it. Although one person's vegetable crepe was and two of the dessert crepes were good, the remainder of the food was not up to par. I value good customer service. This business, in this circumstance, was one of the worst. read more

My sister and I came here for breakfast, and were really excited by what everything on their menu sounded like. The restaurant is cute on the inside. My sister ordered tea, that was so hot the entire time we were at the restaurant, that she had to get it to go. I ordered coffee that didn't show up until after I was finished with my meal. I ordered the crepe with chicken, spinach, and a mushroom creme sauce. I asked for zuchinni to be added, which it never was, but appeared on the bill. I also didn't understand why none of the ingredients were in the crepe, but on top. My sister ordered a crepe with veggies, smoked salmon, and a horseradish sauce. Hers was better, but all of the horseradish sauce was condensed to one side of the crepe. We were also put off by the water glasses being delivered to us, and set lip-side down on our freshly bleached table. I was told that this place has excellent polish soup, so I came. It seems they serve different soup every day. Today's soup was Ukrainian Barszcz soup. Barszcz has beets, potatoes, and boiled eggs, but Ukrainian style seems to have beans instead of boiled eggs. I had a cup of this soup with a half salmon sandwich, $9. The cup was a decent size, the soup was delicious, the sandwich was fresh and excellent!! I also ordered Polish Pierogi, pan fried. They had 3 kinds: Potato + farmer's cheese, Beef + Pork meat, Mushroom + sauerkraut, I had 2 of each, $10. It was good as well. If I'd pick one from today's menu, I'll definitely pick the soup!!! There was too much sweet n low and never any other kind of sugar and honestly....and the place was full of old drunk (or just waking up) hippies telling stories from the night before. Really, if you're a hippy over 25, wear decent clothes. You're not making a statement unless you're saying "I'm a hippy, and I was drunk last nite, and I like to skate.... ". Outstanding. Very unique, the Pierogi was perfectly prepared and crepes had a wonderful flavor and were intentionally crisped as they are frequently in Europe. Most Americans (famous for lacking culture and open minds) will not enjoy the food. We had coffee and a hot cocoa, both delicious but not extraordinary. What a wonderful lunch. I wanted to sit outside on one of the only sunny days we have had this spring and the tables were full. The hostess graciously let me wait it out and it was well worth the wait. I decided to just order a salad to start and order a crepe later if I still had room. I ordered the entree salad and it did not disappoint. The vegetables were fresh and the dressing was wonderful. I decided to order the lemon crepe and substituted the white chocolate for dark. Yeah, not impressed. A group of friends and I decided to have a Saturday brunch at Magdalena's Creperie but we immediately felt unwelcomed the second we sat down. Contemplated heading over to another eaterie around the corner, but decided to give this place a shot. The crepes themselves were okay. Honestly I could have eaten at least three to satisfy my brunchie hunger. But at $8 for a ham and cheese with arugula.... umm, never again. i came here with my bf on a spontaneous day trip down south and we happened upon this cute location in fairhaven. unfortunately, the breakfast crepe i got did not stand out much at all. the crepe was dry, the filling was not warm or had even the slightly moisture. needless to say, the food sorta stuck to my throat when i tried to swallow. the redeeming quality was my bf's dish. he ordered a simple half sandwich with soup of the day, and while their sandwich was alright, the soup was fantastic. the waitresses were attentive and seemed to know when we were ready to order or get our bill. i just wished that their crepes were just as good. read more

I cannot believe some of the poor reviews. The food is most definitely not run of the mill whatsoever and I can't say I've ever had something similar. I have always been served fresh & tasty meals each and every time I have eaten here. To be fair there have been crepes served to me Iv'e had before and the quality level was varied slightly in one way or another, but never to a point of disappointment. The largest french press is a deal and I have always loved their coffee. I have often ordered off their special board as well and been happy. Their soups are delicious and you can always get a small sample to try before ordering. Fairhaven is an interesting place in Whatcom County and this restaurant fits in nicely. I try to eat here when I'm in Bellingham and it serves well to eat here for a afternoon breakfast. read more

We stopped in for a late Sunday lunch before hitting the road. I believe it is a café influenced by Polish flavors. The menu has a good selection of varios sweet and savory crepes and some Polish dishes. I ordered the cheese Pierogi plate and my wife had a crepe. The Pierogies were ok. It was a decent, not great, portion for the price. They came with undressed baby spinach and sour cream. They were a little bland. My wife's crepe was good, but the crepe was a little overcooked and crisp. Our service was very nice, but the food took a while to get to us (we were one of two tables). read more

The crepe was thin and crunchy different then other places I been to, but I thought it was great. Different but great The service was ok. I think it could use some work. The server seemed irritated that we didn't know the menu at all, and put out when asked about the special. The place is small and was very crowed with chairs and I felt like I was apart of the family that was siting next to us. They have vaulted ceilings that while pleasing to the eye does cause the volume to sound like a busy train station, almost painful to the ears. read more

Updating my review from a couple years ago. Our staff had our Christmas exchange here today and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh, unique in flavor, and the service was great. This place is so simple and delicious. I brought my Polish parents here and they thought it was phenomenal. The perfect blend of modern Polish and American breakfast and lunch options. The meals are both delicious and beautiful. A feast for you eyes and body. The prices are a bit high but the taste will not disappoint. My waitress wasn't very friendly and didn't refill my drink, but she was quick to take my order and serve the meal. I would ask for any of the sauces on the side. My main meal and dessert were soaked in their sauces. Sauces were both delicious, just too much for me. They were only open until 4 when I went, so think brunch. My husband and I stayed at the Fairhaven Village Inn next to Magdalena's. Our hotel concierge recommended this place. Pros: Coffee: Stumptown coffee! In Bellingham! Stumptown is a Portland based coffee roaster that has expanded into Seattle. Magdalena's gets their Stumptown beans from the Seattle stores so it's nice and fresh! Crepes: My husband and I shared the savory, spinach, onion & garlic with feta, blue cheese, and parmesan crepe with baked pork. Ah-mazing! A great café space! Cons: My coffee: Really it's not the coffee it was the steamed soy in my latte that was not good.
