I was visiting my mom over Thanksgiving weekend and she took me here for brunch. It was absolutely delicious! The crepes and perogies were home made with fresh ingredients. Drove past this place and decided to stop and try the food. My husband had the Salmon breakfast crepe. He liked it okay. He isn't too good about trying new things so I would take his impression with a grain of salt. I loved my ham, cheese avocado crepe. We also shared a sweet crepe with white chocolate and raspberry and my husband loved that. The couple of bites I got were yummy. I have loved this place since it opened, and it only gets better with time. I always get the pierogis. They are pan fried with options like sauerkraut, potato and cheese, or some kind of delicious sausage/meat thing. I get an equal amount of each. Plus they have cafe affogato: A scoop of ice-cream in coffee. And with the best bellinis & mimosas in town, why go anywhere else for breakfast? I want her to move into my kitchen. The crepes are very large and very delicious. She always uses the best, freshest ingredients. I cannot recommend it highly enough! Magdalena is an AWESOME lady and works so hard!!!! read more

Best Baked Crepes ever. I had the Asparagus and prosciutto topped with bechamel cream sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan with buckwheat flour, AMAZING! The side salad it came with was great with the best tasting vinaigrette I've ever had. Everything was fresh. OJ was fresh squeezed so we all know you pay for quality. Service was great. Love this place, talked to the owner after my meal, she was very nice. My friend took 15 of her employees there for breakfast one morning and they ALL loved it too. I'm going back for sure. A must GO! P.s. I did read every post and I think the problem is, most of the negativity comes from people who eat in chain establishment and don't frequent mom and pop places. My husband and I chanced upon this place when we visited Bellingham a couple of months ago. We found the service to be prompt and friendly, and the food wonderfully home-made and delicious. As is typical in Poland, our water was brought to us with no ice; in my mind, this is a bonus (I HATE the amount of ice most restaurants put in the water), but if you love iced water, they are happy to provide it upon request. We had a buckwheat crepe with spinach and salmon, and an order of pierogi. The crepe was nicely done, and the pierogi were fabulous, reminding me of my grandmother's best. (If your only experience with pierogi is the Mrs. T's style freezer food, you are missing out. This is a great place to extend your education. :) They offer 3 varieties, and you can mix and match as you wish.) read more

My 2 girlfriends and I came to Bellingham for a weekend and came across Magdalena's Saturday mid morning. It turned out to be a perfect place for us... To start, the staff was lovely, coffee delish. We shared a plate of pirogies, the potato cheese and the sour cabbage wild mushroom and all of us loved them. They had a thin dough, great flavour enhanced with the pan fried crispiness. So wonderful, I am taking some home to share with friends in Seattle. Our breakfast crepes were good, but they were heavier than expected and the egg in them was, we felt, overcooked. I am sad to report my disappointment. The restaurant is small, and oddly situated but clean and cute. The service was very good. Our server greeted us immediately and provide great service throughout. The food was not up to expectations. We ordered a soy cappuccino, which was great, but my crepe was a let down. There were barely any fillings, and at $13 for a vegetarian crepe, I would expect more then 5 slices of veggies. I may give another try in future, but for now I will stick with AB crepes when a crepe craving attacks! read more

That fault is because of the quality of the food and the wonderful flavors of all the meals served here at this "olde world" style Creperie. It is well worth any wait time, which usually is not very long at all. Good service is part of the great experience I have when I eat here. Breakfast and lunch is served with cleanliness, care, concern, helpfulness, and promptness....always! The food....oh my goodness....the food is the "best" part of this restaurant. Well I have been here twice now and had just an okay experience. First time was with a friend and we had savory crepes which we split so we could try each others'. I had one with sun dried tomatoes in it & they were the ones that you rehydrate as opposed to being packed in oil. They tasted sour like they had been sitting around awhile. I complained and they said well that is what we use...sorry. My friend had a smoked salmon crepe, but the salmon did not taste fresh. We agreed that it wasn't all that good. Second time was for coffee and dessert. I just had coffee and just a bite of a chocolate/hazelnut crepe that my client ordered. It was simple but good. I agree with Cami G about the coffee. It is good & the sweet crepes seem to be good. However for the price the savory dishes should be better. Service was mediocre and the server acted annoyed that we came in! Like oh no, I have to work! Magdalena's is an awesome spot for brunch. My friend and I came on a drizzly Thursday morning in search of delicious crepes. Upon entering, it was clear the mood was very relaxed-- the rain, the jazz music, the quaintness of the café. It was a refreshing break from the chaos that is Fairhaven in the summer. The menu is jam packed with sweet and savory crepes in addition to meals that don't involve crepes at all! Magdalena's also offers a great assortment of soups, sandwiches and breakfast options. After at least 15 minutes of indecisiveness, I ordered #40 which includes mascarpone cream cheese, lemon curd, fresh fruit and powdered sugar. It was definitely one of the best crepes I've ever had! The mascarpone cream cheese was light and airy, the lemon curd had the perfect balance of sweet and sour and the strawberries were juicy and fresh! The combination of flavors and textures was heavenly. Unfortunately, the crepe itself was lacking. Maybe I've had too many Americanized crepes, but I thought the edges were too crispy and the presentation made the whole thing difficult to eat. I also elected to try the fruit tart with Nutella. Between the shortbread crust, huge mound of Nutella and fresh berries, the tart was also a winner! While my friend and I were catching up, apparently the server forgot all about us and our bill. After about 20 minutes, she rushed over, apologized and offered to pay for our tarts. It was a very nice gesture but I didn't even notice because I was so immersed in conversation! A few weeks ago my husband and I were strolling about Fairhaven feeling a little peckish. We decided to give Magdalena's another try. We are suckers for crepes! This time around it was a pleasant experience and we actually got to EAT! We were seated immediately and the waitress was super attentive and friendly. My husband and I both really enjoyed our pork crepes. Very generous filling. Had a nice home-cooked flavor. The crepes are of the very thin, crispy, well-cooked kind, which I like. Though with so much filling, I would have liked to have had it divided among two crepes, even if it cost a buck more, so I could actually taste more crepe. Mine was one that usually had chicken (with sun-dried tomato and mushrooms and cream sauce) that turned out to be better with the flavorful and moist pork so I was glad they were out of chicken. My hubby and I tried Magdalena's for the first time. We are not big crepe fans in the first place. They had a special "baked crepe" that was bolognese, bechamel, lots of melted cheese. WOW it was like a lasagna but without all the heavy pasta. I wish it was a regular menu item. The meat perogis were also lovely - you have to get them pan fried so they have a nice crispy shell. We were the only ones there on a Sunday so I can't say anything to the service. My husband was so happy they served authentic macchiatos. We will go again. read more

The ingredients are fresh and paired well in each of the items offered on the menu. The stumptown coffee is amazing too! I don't think any other place in Bellingham offers the same coffee. The best food we found in Bellingham was at Magdalena's. We ordered the pierogi with mushrooms and cabbage, which was delicious and filling. The dough of the pierogi was thin and less doughy tasting than many of the other pierogis we've had in the past. For dessert, some of us had sweet crepes with fruit and ice cream. They were artfully presented and tasted excellent. Others of our group had the tart with fruit and lemon curd. It was superb. All in all, it was an outstanding meal in a nice atmosphere. From the Bellingham airport straight here for a great breakfast. A Polish style restaurant, featuring crepes. My husband enjoyed his raspberry crepe, one of the simpler ones offered.
