    A toothpick
    George F.

My first time there, I ordered a Gyro. First off, the manager on duty was training a new employee. He seemed more interested to continue the training than serving me, the customer. He also was short in service. I asked him if they have a standard Greek Gyro, chicken Souvlaki based. He said "our Gyros are the best, what can I order for you". I chose the lamb. A Greek Gyro will have garlic, oregano, lemon, olive oil base marinated in beef, chicken, and lamb. Comes w tzatziqui , tahini, and maybe tabouli. Anyway, I get home, start eating and find a toothpick in my wrap. I called to complain, told "sorry I was training a new employee" . No offer of a replacement, refund. I will never ent the store again.

When this place popped up in my list I knew I had to go there. I am a sucker for gourmet food supply shops and Mediterranean food! The shop is small but has a surprisingly large selection that includes house made take home meals like soups and lasagna to spices, pastas, dried beans, etc. We ordered the sample platter with hummus and a chicken gyro. The hummus was smooth, like it should be, meaning not like the stuff you get from a supermarket. This is always a great sign. It was well executed but nothing I would drive out of my way to get. I tend to like hummus with a bit of garlic and a hint of lemon. This was the more neutral flavored hummus, which has its place, it just isn't my favorite. The falafel was excellent and for me, the star of the show. It is what I'll get next trip. The chicken gyro was mediocre. It had nice chunks of chicken. I don't think it was souvlaki or if it was it was a mildly flavored version. I just didn't fill my two expectations for gyros. They must not have any of that sliced gyro meat like you'd get from a fair stand gyro vendor which it passed. Second is I expect a lot of big and even slightly bold flavor. It did not pass the second requirement. All in all, great little gourmet food supply shop that had me leaving with bags of items and a decent lunch!

Ordered a beef gyro, very delicious but nothing mind blowing. Would definitely come back to try more items, the cafe is situated in a cute little market and I wish I had more time to look around as it seems like the place to go for authentic Mediterranean oils, deli items, recipe books, etc. The staff was friendly and there were tables and utensils out for people to dine in.

Such a great little find on South Campus. This little grocery/restaurant is a great stop for all things Mediterranean. They have a small grocery with ingredients and spices, they also sell wine so it's a one stop shop for all your needs! I was especially happy to see that they sell homemade frozen meals and refrigerated soups for grab and go. We got the sample platter and loved all the flavorful dishes it showcased! I highly recommend and I will be back to try more!

    Greek salad with beef gyro

Had high hopes but was disappointed. The market was great, and gal on the phone friendly. However my salad was quite sad and soggy and both my requests for no onions and dressing on the side didn't happen. I also ordered a large salad and it was pretty small. The beef was cold and there wasn't a lot of it.

Great spot for authentic fresh Lebanese food . Everything I have tried here has been authentic and tasted home made. 2 types of authenticity when talking abt ethnic food : home made tasting food and restaurant tasting food . This place most certainly serve home made/healthy food . I ordered lamb shawarma , which was well spiced and lean . Hummus was a s good as it gets . Portions were generous. Baklava was fresh out of the oven made with walnut; u can can taste a slight kick of rose water in the filling which is a trademark of home made baklava( u may wanna ask what day they make them and call in for pick up from their fresh badge !) . Portions are very generous. Turkish Coffee is a must . Owners and cooks were extremely friend and helpful . Prices are very reasonable , they have a nice seating area. The place is very quiet . Overall I would definitely try multiple items on their menu and see whatever tickles ur fancy . They have a lot of authentic items make sure you venture a little outside of the classics .

They've renovated recently, but kept the heart of what makes the place special. It's now more modern, but still feels the same in all the right ways. Every time we're driving to or from Vancouver, this is a must stop for us. Folks that work there always give me the feeling they they like what they do and they know what they are doing. Their wine selection is quirky and fun. And near the register, there are often bottles you just won't see in typical US liquor stores. I usually pick one or two to try. On the food side, we always, always get the beet salad, german potato salad and mac salad- they are all made european style. Those are non-negotiable sides for us. Last visit they had a watermelon gazpacho on the specials menu that perfectly balanced sweet and bright, super refreshing. What they do best is keep things simple but execute flawlessly. A good chunk of the sandwiches you can get half ( then they become slightly expensive halves due to pricing :) )Great bread, great ingredients, no fuss. The Italian sub is proof. It's classic and spot on. My personal go-to, however, is the horseradish roast beef, fantastic combination. And the rotating panini specials are always worth a look. It's a fun, large market, with a lot to choose from in the heart of Bellingham. The Bellingham Farmers Market occurs on Saturdays, so when I visited, I made my way over there an hour after it opened, and it was already packed! People get here early for the market even in the rain! I was impressed to see the large crowds with the wet weather, but it didn't stop us, Washingtonians. It really reminded me of a community event that many of the locals spend time at on their Saturday mornings - love that. The market takes place in downtown Bellingham, and has an outdoor area, along with a large indoor space where the market staff have a booth, selling their merchandise. It's also a dog-friendly market, so expect to see a lot of furry friends. There was live music, plenty of vendors of all specialties, and was next to a seating area where people could enjoy their market eats. So you can imagine how excited I was to find Bry's Filipino Cuisine while we were in Bellingham. It wasn't on our radar, but we looked at a map of where we were staying and not far from our hotel was a place called Bry's Filipino Cuisine just down a few blocks. We called over there, asking if they were dog-friendly and fortunately, they are. They offer outdoor seating right outside the entrance, which worked out perfectly. We visited for lunch and left with leftovers. The portions are huge and it's affordable! I can't remember the last time I had a meal in Bellevue with huge portions from a small business for $20. My partner and I both ordered the combination, which came with a little bit of everything for only $20. There was pork adobo, coconut chicken, grilled pork, lumpia, brussels sprouts, pancit and a large helping of white rice. I even asked the owner if he had bicol express, which he gave me a side of as part of the combo plate! After some chatting, it turns out the owner is from the Bicol region, which is where my mom's side of the family is from. Love it! It's been a long time since I've had some authentic Filipino food - and this hit the spot! The food was incredible, the owner was super friendly and the space outside allowed for our dog to join us. They even have a full bar where they serve cocktails with ube and pandan for a Filipino twist! I will definitely be back whenever I'm in Bellingham.

The second I normally don't like dark meat nor like Smoky stuff so the coconut chicken kind of put me off, but when I tried it, it was a perfect balance. All the food is perfectly seasoned, too. I normally add hot sauce to my food to give it a bit more flavor, but that wasn't needed here. The one thing to keep in mind is that their online menu isn't as updated as their actual menu. For example, the combo meal wasn't listed online, but they had it on the menu in the restaurant so if you want the full selection, you gotta be in person instead of using their online menu.
