She was so friendly and gave great recommendations. There were so many things to choose from that I couldn't make a decision. I ended up ordering the "I can't decide" platter. How funny this was really a thing! It was perfect and let me try a little of everything! The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. They are made from a fresh buttermilk batter made daily, not from the box! The biscuits and gravy were so yummy. The home fries were cooked perfect with a little crisp. Easily a 5 out of 5 stars. This may have been the best place I have ever been to for breakfast. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Literally thought that I might have been in heaven. We got the outdoor seating (why wouldn't you) and we had a great view of the water. The service was really good and they were hospitipal. The view of the water was really nice and there were birds flying above the water. I also liked the humor that they had. Hung all around the restaurant were funny signs that said things like "No one cares about your diet, just eat your salad and be sad" or "If I agreed with you then we would both be wrong" Even the menu was funny. It said "Maggies Rules: #1.) Be patient! This is Florida. we don't get in too much of a hurry over anything! #2.) If you are mean and grouchy, Maggie collects a $10 cover charge!!! Delicious breakfast at Maggie Mae's! We sat on the patio by the water; service was fast and the selection is nuts! I had the Blackstone Eggs Benedict, which had GF hollandaise; and GF potatoes -- score! It was delicious, and so nice to have GF breakfast options. My girlfriend ordered the hashbrown casserole, which was creamy and satisfying, with a side of their wonderful bacon. They also had a GF toast option! Had me at gluten free biscuits! Maggie Mae's is the quintessential cafe that makes you feel like you're surrounded by friends and friendly neighbors. It has all the classic breakfast and lunch options you can think of, and the service was excellent. Came here for breakfast and It was a 5 minute walk over from the Sheraton. We sat outside which we requested but something I wouldnt do again as the sun still hits you even though the top is covered. The service was very good, the Huevos Rancheros were better than I expected and I cant wait to order it again next time I come here. When the weather is reasonable, it would be great to sit outside, other than that I suggest to sit inside during the am hours. read more

Stopped here while visiting Clearwater from Dunedin. This came up as one of the top places for brunch/lunch w/ a view. There was about a 30 min wait which we fully expected on a Saturday morning. The hostess was efficient and great at taking names, etc. We had a beautiful view once seated. Our waiter was extremely attentive with food and drinks. Oh Maggie Mae sunrise cafe, ocean front, little birdie flying around by the most beautiful sunrise, when eating your 3 massive delicious gorgeous pancakes and the best orange juice in your Élan life as your 3 little boy eating like princes in a castle like a little royal family in the United Kingdom as your wife eating a big breakfast like a wonderful queen. We visited Maggie Mae's Sunrise Cafe after a day at the beach, hoping for a nice meal to end the day. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but welcoming. The entire strip was without water, which I'm sure had affected business, but that's no excuse for how we were treated. One of the five of us didn't have a shirt due to being caught in the rain, so we asked the staff if it would be okay to sit on the outside deck. Two employees kindly said yes. As we were being walked through to the deck, a man who seemed to be the manager or owner rudely interrupted, saying, "No shirt, get out." We politely explained we were going to sit outside, but he repeated, "No shirt, get out," and then proceeded to get on the phone, completely dismissing us. The waitress seemed mortified, and we assured her it was no problem. Instead of handling the situation with any bit of grace--like suggesting we visit the nearby gift shop for a quick solution--the manager chose to be unnecessarily rude. We ended up buying a shirt at a gift shop and went to Shorty's Deli instead, where we were welcomed warmly and had a fantastic meal. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, Maggie Mae's failed in that regard. We will not be returning. read more

I actually picked up food from here on the way to the airport so I could have something better (and cheaper) to eat than airport food and Maggie Mae's definitely hit the mark. I ordered the Maggie's mess, which is similar to a build your own omelette except as a scramble, which I thought would fair better on a trip to the airport. I called it in for takeout and it was ready 10 to 15 minutes after I called. I got it with one of their homemade biscuits which was great. my scramble was made with egg whites, feta and 3 vegetables and was a good portion. Unlike the omelette, it only comes with toast or a biscuit and not the home fries, but that was OK for what I was looking for. Importantly, it was still tasty about an hour after I ordered it, which was important! Was happy to have gotten to try this place! read more

When we first pulled up to the restaurant, there was a small wait. The entrance is very small but they were very accommodating and kind! We waited for about 10-15 minutes before being seated. After breakfast we went to check out some of the shops in this strip mall when I got a big stomachache and rushed back to use the washroom. Thankfully there was no one in there but boy was it nasty. Part storage area, part bathroom with a very wobble toilet. The complete opposite of the very decent breakfast. We sat outside which overlooks the bay, its a million dollar view. They have put up wires and deflectors to keep the birds away but occasionally a bird will get in and cause some disruptions. The service was great, and so was the corned beef hash and eggs with a homemade biscuit. I just had a bad reaction to it for some reason. read more
