Love this place!!! The best calamari I've ever had is here. I love that they serve so many tentacles in their fried calamari. The breading is perfectly salted and no dripping of any sort of oil. It is not greasy whatsoever. I like it with their honey mustard sauce. I love that we're able to sit out on the sand and put her feet in the sand and it was super humid out and warm, but we were in the shade under umbrella umbrellas and it was just the perfect day to have a snack on the beach
No wait at 2 PM on a Saturday for two people when I visited in late May. I got the frozen rum runner, but I didn't like the cherry flavor. Should have gotten the pina colada! Food was great though. I tried the tropical lime shrimp with rice, grilled grouper sandwich and Garlic crab fries (half order). Key lime pie was ok - they do a better one at Salt Cracker Fish Camp. The crab fries were my favorite!!
After a beautiful day on the beach this was the perfect place to come when parched and famished. My wife had seared tuna which was light and fresh. My sister had the grouper fish sandwich which had a firm fry to it and the fish was light and flakey. I had the California fish tacos. There was so much flavor in the fish the fixing blended well. A must visit when in Clearwater
This is my favorite of all the Frenchy's restaurants. On a sunny day, I love to come here, sit at a table in the sand, under the canopy, and watch the water. We've tried nearly everything on the menu, but we always order the garlic crab fries. They are amazing. The cajun grouper sandwich is probably the next best thing. Service is always good here. Parking can be kind of a beast. If we can't find parking in the surface lot, there's a garage right down the street that always has spots open, and it's not a bad walk.
What an excellent experience we had. The wait wasn't too long for a spot on the patio. The service was prompt and very friendly and warm. The appetizers showed up in what felt like seconds, and the drinks weren't far behind. It's a bustling and bubbly environment that everybody shared and enjoyed. The food was very good and extremely well priced. I spent less than a hundred on 2 entrees, 2 appetizers and 3 adult beverages.
What a fun place, it's open and airy with a super friendly staff that's quick to serve you. We sat at the bar and a young lady named "Tater" took care of us. The Grouper Rubin was outstanding, the Beet salad was delicious, but the card fries were amazing. The prices are great but we'll be back for the atmosphere and drinks, food.
If you're heading to Frenchy's Rockaway Grill, just know you're about to find your new favorite beach spot. The Caribbean grouper sandwich (or the Caribbean grilled chicken) is an absolute must-order! I am obsessed with the sauce. The ahi tuna is super fresh and honestly one of the best things on the menu. The scallops are also a standout; cooked just right and definitely worth adding to your order. Drinks are surprisingly affordable for being right on the beach, which makes it even better to hang out for a while. Pro tip: grab a table in the sand so you can fully enjoy the view wit your feet in the sand. If you're more in the mood for a casual vibe, sit at the bar, ask for JT; he's the best and makes the experience even more fun. This is hands down one of my favorite vacation spots and I make it a point to come back every time I'm in Clearwater Beach.
To be fair.. I think I was sick of fried food and the same menus by the time we made it to Frenchy's. We were visiting Clearwater with the kids. We sat on the back deck. Unfortunately there were a bunch of large water bugs/roaches crawling around near us so that was kind of upsetting. The crab soup was enjoyed by most of our group. The grouper nuggets were good too. Didn't enjoy the egg rolls at all. It's a good spot for a quick bite. I didn't really enjoy my frozen cocktail. It was too sweet without much alcohol.
I will literally drive out of my way on a random week day not even in beachwear to go here and order my three favorite menu items. 1) tuna nachos 2) seafood salad 3) grouper sandwhich If I'm having a bad day, you can find me here stuffing my face and enjoying the sunset
I have always heard about Frenchy's so I was like just give a try . Our food selection was crab fries which was delicious real crab and enough for the large side . Bacon wrap scallops was good as well . We also ordered the Shrimp dinner the shrimp was large just needed a little bit more season . Garlic mashed potatoes was good . Coleslaw was horrible just say I tasted and put to the side . The frozen ritas was delicious. Key lime pie was ok. Our waiter was really nice enough though he had long day and very attentive. The ambiance was really nice you are able to have a phone conversation and sunset was beautiful. Please come early to find parking at $3.90 an hour .
The pros! This is right on Clearwater beach- we walked up from our beach post (left everything there sans wallet/phones) and grabbed lunch at a table in the sand . The views are lovely and the sea breeze awesome. The service was good- she made sure our waters were full etc. the food was fine just nothing g outstanding and as expected- pricey. My salad with blackened shrimp was good- my husband didn't enjoy his fish tacos because the fish seemed chopped up rather than in a filet piece inside. The kids loved the hot dog (huge) and tenders. This is a place that you come for the ambiance not necessarily phenomenal food which the beach view makes up for
The parking situation was intimidating as it is the paid beach parking lot next door. We were lucky enough after a short wait to grab a free spot in front of the ice cream place. When you get up to the host stand, there is a QR code to get your name on the list. The process was impressive as you can check first available or choose beach seating with great pictures of each view. Unfortunately we were so hungry we needed first available and got stuck in between 2 very tight tables with hardly any room to sit. We placed our food order immediately and noticed a table who was sat 10-15 minutes after us got both their appetizers AND their food order before ours - disappointing......... especially while starving! SKIP THE FISH shaped PRETZEL! It was awful - came out cold and rock hard - like a cracker and nothing like a pretzel. Grilled mahi sandwich no bun was good as was the kids shrimp and cheeseburger meals. Wish we had time to wait for a beach seating as the views were amazing. If I had more time, I'd come back and wait for a seat in the sand to truly enjoy the experience as the inside was chaotic and crowded - not a very fun lunch experience. Hate that all of the entree $15-20 come with CHIPS as the default and you have to pay to upgrade to fries or another side. I will say, the service was great!
Spend all day at the beach came up to this bar and grill. We ended up getting some daiquiris with some friends. And a few appetizers. We met Kelsey our bartender she definitely is the best. Friendly , professional, great personality, she loves what she does. We had some questions and she made recommendations. She is an amazing person. I recommend Frenchy's to everyone they have something for everyone. Families are welcomed, live music! Staff is wonderful, restaurant is clean. They even have a gift shop!

Loved this place. So much we went twice. The smoked tuna dip is the best in all the area! That's their golden ticket. The pretzel that's so famous is ok. It's a pretzel. I had a grouper sandwich blackened and on second trip the 3 kings meal of scallops, shrimp, and grouper but Caribbean jerk. When it comes to grouper, you really don't taste the fish, which can be a good thing. You are tasting the spice. The jerk is slightly over salty but somewhat expected. The crab fries are also amazing. For the uniqueness 100% order it. I also loved their jalapeno hush puppies, sweet and not spicy. You can tell by our multiple trips we ordered half the menu. It's a solid first stop destination for sure Loved the staff, atmosphere, music, and the view. It's a must go to spot for sure! read more

Amazing Beachside restaurant!! The atmosphere is colorful and relaxing and a few steps from the sand. Great view of the gulf. THe staff is very friendly and helpful. A wide variety on the menu. My group Loved the Crab fries and the jalapeño hush puppies as appetizers. They are known for their Grouper and you can understand why... it is absolutely fabulous! People in our group had a grouper sandwich, and the walnut encrusted grouper salad... the Hawaiian chicken got some high praise as well along with the burger and seafood pot pie. Everyone in our group had high praise! The waitstaff never let our drinks empty and any substitutions were correctly taken care of. We will be back. I just need to remember to save room for dessert! read more
I really enjoy Frenchy's Rockaway because it's directly on Clearwater Beach so you can eat and watch a gorgeous sunset at the same time. This is one of four Frenchy's restaurants in the area but the only one with views of the beach. We started with the crab fries which are fries loaded with fresh crab meat and aioli sauce. These are so delicious and not to be missed. We also had the fish dip which is my favorite fish dip anywhere. It has so much flavor without being overwhelmingly fishy. My go to at any of the Ftenchy's restaurant is their fresh caught grouper sandwich which you can get grilled, fried or blackened. Trust me, you cannot go wrong with their grouper sandwich. This time however, I decided to get the fried shrimp platter and I might have found a new favorite! Lightly battered large shrimp served with fries and a delicious cole slaw this was a winner for sure! Finished up the meal with a slice of Key line pie that was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Servers were nice and the restaurant was clean. Metered parking is nearby. read more

I can't decide between a 3 or 4. The service was excellent and the portions generous Staff is extremely friendly. But the oysters were small and gritty, the drinks had barely any alcohol, the key lime pie had zero zing (I'm an expert on key lime pie). The portion sizes were generous and ambiance pleasant. Another great visit to a favorite beach bar. This old standby has been rehabilitated after the hurricane with all new furniture and decking. Inside it's the same vibe as always - tourists and wet, sandy bathing suits and a few locals that know where the good food is. Stone crabs are in season, and this is the spot for them. Succulent, sweet and juicy, pre-cracked in the kitchen. Order them cold, and don't forget the mustard sauce. And don't forget the she-crab soup. It's worth the trip for that alone! It's always crowded, there's always a wait. But what better opportunity to grab an ice-cold margarita and people-watch while you wait. GO!! read more
Frenchy's Rockaway Grill is one of those places where the location alone makes the visit worthwhile--but thankfully the experience lives up to the setting. Sitting right on the beach, the view of the Gulf is fantastic and adds a relaxed beach vibe to the entire meal. Watching the water while enjoying dinner is hard to beat. Our table ordered a nice mix of items including the fish spread, shrimp tacos, the classic grouper sandwich, fries, and slaw. The food was good across the board--fresh, flavorful, and exactly the kind of casual beachside seafood you hope for in this setting. The fish spread was a great starter, and the shrimp tacos were especially enjoyable. Service was top notch. Our server was friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving smoothly without ever feeling rushed. It's the kind of service that makes you feel welcome and adds to the overall experience. Frenchy's was one of the highlights of my trip to Clearwater. I'm back in Chicago and still thinking about the food days later. The baked oysters were absolutely incredible--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I could have easily ordered another round. The real surprise for me, though, was the octopus salad. It was cooked perfectly, tender with just the right amount of char, and packed with flavor. It was one of the best seafood dishes I had during my entire trip. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and you can tell they know how to handle seafood. If you're visiting Clearwater, do yourself a favor and order the baked oysters and octopus salad. They're the kind of dishes you'll still be craving long after your vacation ends. Didn't get many pics of our party's food--but it was SO good. Frenchy's is a whole vibe with an ocean view. Outdoor seating right in the sand... literally on the beach--you can't get closer. We had a great time here. A total post beach day place with a casual vibe. The service was polite, and offered us several recommendations as first timers, but the kitchen did get backed up a bit so our food was slightly delayed. We got an order of the hushpuppies, she crab soup, fish dip and shrimp tacos. You must get the she crab soup- absolutely incredible!!!! And loved the hushpuppies, but probably would not order the tacos again. The drinks were great! Would definitely recommend the banana frozen drinks! read more

Heard good things so stopped on our way to Clearwater. Bartender was super friendly and service was great. Started w the Garlic Crab Fries (half order). We thought it was very good and a very nice portion of crab on top. My husband ordered the Jalapeño Stuffed Shrimp. First order came out pretty undercooked, so sent it back. They were great in giving us a new order at no charge (although hesitant to eat, they were food). I ordered the Ahi Tuna - it was good, but didn't seem real fresh. We saw lots of people ordering burgers, so maybe that's the way to go. :) Overall cute place with a nice island vibe! read more
When in Rome do as the Roman's do. When in clearwater do what you are suppose to go to Frenchy"s. Frenchy's is the go to spot when in Clearwater. The oysters were screaming my name as well as the drinks. I also had the shecrab soup. Wifey opted for a chili dog? It was a perfect vibe on a perfect sping day. Frenchy's hits all the bells and whistles. I ended the lunch with the she crab soup. I spiked it with the habernero sauce. It was the kiss of death. It was so Goooood! (October 2025) Where do you go when you are a tourist but don't want to be a tourist? Hmmm... okay let's try this again... where do they have decent food, decent drinks, on the water and above all, live music??? Here! That's where! Our valet drove us over from our hotel in a golf cart and then picked us up when we were done...Talk about door to door service! It was pretty crowded when we arrived but we were seated immediately. Our server was a nice young man named Bethea. (A family name he told us) We ordered drinks first then our food. Everything came rather quickly which was nice. The inside had 2 bars, several dining areas and an outdoor patio that was covered. We shared: A Burger with fries 5/5 A Cobb salad 5/5 An Asian salad served in a Taco shell - strange but good 4/5 When we were finished eating we headed to the bar for some live top 40 music! I danced a little and the lead singer managed to flirt with me...hee hee! Always good for the ego... What a visit to the gulf side! We found this place on the sand! I loved the grouper sandwich, Brendan's way! We mostly enjoyed the frozen drinks, oh so perfect! Our waiter was amazing!!! I'm so upset that I did not get his name! He was attentive, personable, and made the experience pleasant. We decided to walk here after doing a dolphin tour. It was worth the walk! We were seated right away and given the option of indoor, patio or beach. Our waiter approached us shortly and gave his recommendations. We chose the cheese curds, grouper nuggets, and tender basket. All were delicious! The cheese curds had a sweet chili flavor that added another layer of deliciousness. Prices aren't bad here. The food is actually good. Portion may seem a little small. The brownie was delicious but maybe a little dry but good overall. The service was okay. They do tend to get quite busy so that's why service can be a hit or missed. The ambiance, you can definitely dine on the beach with your toes in the sand if you wanted or if you didn't, you could as well. So whatever you want. The gumbo I was not expecting. It didn't have any rice. So not the type of gumbo I like. Everything else was good. I could pass on the side of vegetables though, they were basic broccoli and carrots. Nothing special. read more
Wow! We are working our way through the app menu and today we had the tuna nachos, which were superb. The homemade blue corn chips were a great base for the tuna, avocado and other goodies. Then we had the steak dippers, which were filling. We were full, so we took the seafood salad to go. Our food came out quickly and it's fun to be in a lively atmosphere on the beach. Had a great time at Frenchy's! We went there due to them being able to accommodate a large party of 12 people and I was pleasantly surprised our server Abby didn't miss a beat! The service was great! I tried the 3 kings with double shrimp instead of scallops, Cajun style and it was phenomenal! The mixed vegetables were cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were delicious. The restaurant sits on the beach and there is parking right outside. I highly recommend for families or date night. read more

Does the outside seating have wheelchair access?
You should be able to access it from inside restaurant. There are several large doors that lead out to the patio seating and there are no stairs.

No but the drinks are very reasonable
Where to Park?
There's plenty of metered street parking all around, quarters only no credit cards, maximum stay is two and a half hours before you have to feed it again. There's also a parking lot nearby that takes credit cards only, longer stay and it costs more.…
When is Happy Hour and what are the deals?
$1 off domestic drafts, well drinks and house wines. Monday through Friday from 4-7pm.
