Fish and chips

Dined here on a Monday night so no live music or much activity. The servers were friendly and the dining experience was good overall. Had the Boxty Cheese Dip appetizer. The potato pancakes were warm and fluffy and the cheese dip had a thick rich and just slightly spicy flavor. A very enjoyable appetizer. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection. The fish had a nice coating of batter that wasn't too greasy. Large portion of fries.

We found Maggie Miley's in Normal, IL the old-fashioned way--searching my phone for a nearby hotel and restaurant--and what a win! This Irish pub is full of charm, with warm woodwork, cozy atmosphere, and an authentic feel. From the moment we walked in, the host greeted us with a smile and even gave us a choice of where to sit. Our server was fantastic--attentive without hovering--and we were pleasantly surprised when both the host and even the chef stopped by to check on us. That's service you don't see every day! The food? Absolutely delicious. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. We left full, happy, and feeling like valued guests. If you're ever traveling through Illinois, I highly recommend making a stop in Normal to check out Maggie Miley's. You'll get great food, friendly faces, and an experience that feels like home.

Classic Irish Pub Vibes. My husband, friend and I went here on a Sunday evening when it was real slow. The waitress did seat us in a spot that wasn't too close to the loudness at the bar which was nice. We ordered cork fries and the beer pretzel. The fries were tasty and the pretzel was, but I don't think they cooked it long enough because you could feel the frozen hardness at one point. Enjoyed a cherry wheat beer and my husband and his friend had many old fashions so I think they enjoyed them!

Very good Irish pub. Lively and energetic. Music playing good service. And the fish and chips were excellent. Crispy outside soft moist middle and fries were cooked perfectly. Tartar sauce was a great complement to the fish. Great spot for some Irish grub and a drink.

Four of us stopped here for lunch and everyone was delighted with their selection. Kloe was our server and she was a delightful. She was attentive, always checking on us. This is a true Irish Pub with friendly people and a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Had a quick lunch of fish and chips here and a couple pints of Guinness. Our server was really good and kept the glasses full. The fish was good but the batter on the fish was a little mushy for my taste.we were there early for lunch, before noon and I am guessing maybe the fryers were not quite hot enough. The bar was very cool and certainly had the Irish pub vibe.

Food was okay, I ordered the fish and chips - their menu says the malt vinegar is imported from Ireland.... But the bottle they give you clearly says it's made in Philly PA in the US. Felt like a lie to get you to order the item. The soda tasted mostly like water and the wait was long for lunch time on a week day with less than 10 people in the restaurant. Can't say I'd recommend.

I'm not entirely versed on Irish pubs (sorry!), so I don't know if this place is a genuine experience... or a college-town compromise. It was pretty good! I chose the Shepherds pie and was a great entree. There was a curry fries which was pretty remarkable. Good overall!

I was in town visiting a friend and he wanted to try this place. We came on a Wednesday at 5pm and it wasn't too busy but it seemed like a good crowd. Our server was great and I loved the feel of the place. It felt like an Irish pub. Except for the country music. Lol. Lots of space and not too loud. Ordered the Traditional Irish Coffee and it was smooth and delicious. Loved the foam on top. Very nicely done. For dinner I got the corned beef sandwich. For someone who has a potato allergy, I wasn't sure how it would go at an Irish pub, but they had some good options. My friend had the shepherds pie and thought it was really good. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit here.

Nice pub in town. Food is pretty good and the drinks are not bad especially for the prices! We got the battered sausages for app- interesting choice. I got the Irish beef stew entree and it was very good. Waiter was nice.

This has been one of my favorite places to eat in Blono since my college days years ago, and I still make the trip over here from the Peoria area once in a while because it is the only place around to get truly authentic Irish meals like the traditional breakfast. I have tried many things over the years and they are all great. Good servers and drinks too!

We were in a hurry and our awesome waitress Kaytlin gave us lightening fast service. 5 stars for service. Food was good, typical Irish bland. Just a solid good meal.

Maggie's is solid for an afternoon, post class pint. Simple and to the point, it's the upper echelon of the Normal pubs.

The potatoes were also pretty solid. The flavored tea was nice, it just needed a bit of sugar. Our waitress was super friendly and made the experience even better. She was enthusiastic and enjoyed sharing her favorite menu items, which I appreciated. The ambiance was very welcoming, and I liked how open the space felt. The only downside was that the host who seated us seemed a little short when asking if we had reservations, especially when I asked if they were required.

Got a flight- moon jumper (smoky), black angel (a little on the burnt side), blackberry gose, pumpkin porter (spicy but not fake pumpkin flavor spicy). Beer battered asparagus for the appetizer- delicious! Crunchy which was great! Husband and I split a bacon pickle pizza (omg!!) and spicy chicken sandwich with wedges (huge, thick potato slices). Definitely recommend the pizza, so flavorful! Spicy chicken was both hot and spicy from the jalapeños and sweet from the sauce. Madysen was our server and was amazing and attentive! If it wasn't 2.5 hours away we'd be regulars! Lots of parking available.

Our late night visit to Epiphany Farms/Anju was exceptional! A huge drink menu welcome us and we…read morehad the Beyond jalapeño cornbread for a starter, which proved to be quite yummy and not hot at all. We decided to go with the rustic pizzas that were delicious and unusual: harmony, Korean, chicken and loaded supreme. The crust tasted like it was from a woodfired oven and the Korean chicken pizza was so unusual and tasty with kimchi and pickled shiitake. The fresh from the forest mushroom side dish they gave us a special treat to us was quite a delicacy. Even the farm to table items they have for sale when you walk in to take home are a treat, Especially the homemade marshmallows! Ended with dessert of a fresh orange olive oil cake with just tremendous flavor and blood orange on the side and orange marmalade on the cake. It served exquisitely with a side of homemade ice cream that was to die for. We can't wait to come back! Our waitress, Lupe, treated us like family and was incredibly personal and warm. Put this on your must visit List.

The fish was fresh- including tuna, salmon, shrimp- placed over small celery bites. A variety of sauces were dotted around the plate's edge. The dish would have benefited from some ginger and more sauce. Our entrees included Pork Coppa Ramen- which was a solid dish- strong beef broth flavor and the sambal (chili sauce) -a few cents extra- added a good depth of flavor. The fish bowl- tuna, salmon- with rice, pickled veggies, and gim (Korean seaweed) was tasty. It was even tasty the next day cold out of the fridge. Our server Jack did a nice job- we sampled their roasted carrots- and they were actually our favorite bite. We also had the potato graten and they were tasty- but could have been easily skipped with our Asian dinner vibe. The restaurant has a great eclectic historical vibe and was busy on a Friday night, but still felt spacious. The drink menu is a good selection- we enjoyed wine with dinner (a solid Pinot noir). I would definitely go back to have the pizza- which looked delicious at a couple of the neighboring tables. This is a great date night venue or girls night out.
