Absolutely no part of this experience was something to write home about. A beautiful location, but the longest wait times for literally everything, very limited food selections for gluten free/celiac, and besides our waitress, a staff that seems to prefer to forget you. I wish this had been better, but I wish I'd read up on it before visiting.

This was a delicious dinner and really nice location for a romantic dinner. The food was delicious and there was a nice pace between one dish to the next. The server also allowed me to sample the wine first before pouring which I really liked. However we are left feeling conflicted. While we were happy with the meal and service the price we were charged at the end was a surprise. We chose this location and not the nearby Portuguese place that we had originally planned because we had learned about the $59 "Happening Gourmand" meal. I know wine is not included along with gratuity. But nowhere on the menu did it mention that for the main course if you choose the steak it will cost an additional $20. If I had known that I would have had the fish. So just be certain on what you are paying for and being charged because this was very sneaky and wasn't told about the price difference until the bill arrived. Oh..... and they made two mistakes with my fiancée desert. First it was the wrong item and second she had asked for it to go because it was getting late.

Came here to celebrate a bachelorette. unfortunately we booked first with the Terrasse William Gray and they "lost" our reservations. They did set us up in the back corner so we had lots of room. We had a prefix menu at $80 - that was set on the table as we got there so that was great. We were pleasantly to greeted and sat. I did find that our beverage orders did take quite a while to be taken and then another 20 minutes before actually arriving. As much as they were meticulous with the cleanliness of the table, I feel the follow up for drinks while we waited for our food should've been more frequent. Had it been more frequent? We probably would've ordered more beverages while we waited for our food. Once our food finally did arrive it wouldn't say it was anything outstanding nothing memorable that makes me feel like I'd like to come back. My highlight of this whole experience was the one espresso martini I was able to have.

We stopped at Maggie Oakes for drinks and the ambiance, selection and service were excellent. The bartender was very friendly and engaging. The selection of drinks was very good and the mixology used to prepare them was outstanding. Very delicious drinks at reasonable prices. This is the bar/restaurant of a hotel so the ambiance is chic and it does cater to both locals and tourists. It's located right on Place Jacques Cartier, so it's easy to find.

Great service, food and ambiance ! They are known for their aged steaks which are prominently displayed. It's in a great location in the downtown and within a nice hotel. The steaks were delicious and done right. The atmosphere was delightful and vibrant. All the staff were great and accommodating. Solid 4-4.5 stars

Located in the Hotel William Gray, this place served up a delicious brunch! We almost didn't go here based on the low Yelp ratings but it was raining and we wanted a cozy meal without wandering too far. They have St Viatuer sesame bagels! Great alternative if you don't want to trek across town for the famous Montreal bagels. We also had the lobster and shrimp sandwiched on a brioche toasted bun. We enjoyed it so much that we returned later for drinks and a charcuterie board before our evening show.

We almost didn't go to Maggie Oakes due to the low Yelp rating but we had been traveling all day and it was close to our hotel, so we rolled the dice. We were very pleasantly surprised! I ordered the avocado toast and it was delicious. We went at 3pm, so there was only one other table of people the whole time we were there. Our server did an ok job up until we asked for our bill and he stopped by the other table and went back and forth through the restaurant several times before bringing it. Other than that, our lunch was good and we'd give it another try.

Amid the stroll along Place Jacques Cartier lies this charming, spacious, well-appointed and luxe restaurant, with a grand interior and delectable options. Maggie Oakes is a ground floor space. (Its sister spaces are the Terrasse William Gray, and Perché, both situated upstairs for Old Port viewing.) Oakes has huge cuts of beef on display in its refrigerated units, and also has seafood and vegetarian options. The drinks list is excellent. We enjoyed our meals, bar drinks, and comfortable surroundings. Highly recommended.

Absolutely phenomenal food and service. Our waiter was very tentative to us when we were dining. He asked for example oh did he give you the lemon water for when you're done with the lobster? And to top things off the food, the lobster and sirloin steak was absolutely amazing. The sirloin literally cut like butter and the lobster was delicious with the sweet potato fries

Montreal is just amazing. It was a busy time and they got us seated immediately. Our server made great recommendations. My drink was refreshing and the views made it better. We sat outside but inside was lovely because it's of course associated with the a beautiful hotel. I ordered the tuna tartare, I enjoyed it but not the best I've had, didn't take away from my experience. Montreal is simply a great experience and this was definitely a part of it.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. We learned from the Two Gay Expats on YouTube that this was the place to try based on the charismatic chef Michael Tozzi and his renowned ricotta pancakes. Jamie W and I got here late on a weekday morning. Sure enough there was a queue. Dame fortune must've smiled upon us because we moved to the head of the line as a party of two. Even though the threat of rain hung over us, we were seated in the front parklet and quite happily since the dining room inside looked packed. We started with a couple of C$6.25 Iced Maple Lattes because it felt like the Canadian thing to do. They provided a welcome caramel-like sweetness to our refreshment (Photo 9). Jamie was more conscientious about his entree and ordered the C$26.99 Crunchy Sesame Chicken Salad, quite a mound of delights: romaine, cabbage, carrot, celery, shredded chicken breast, cashews, cilantro, fried wontons, and sesame chicken (Photo 8). Both the textures and flavors meshed really well together. Of course you can guess what I ordered, the C$27 Ricotta Pancakes with brown butter maple sauce, lemon cream, and Quebec strawberries (Photo 10). Light and nicely aerated, the fluffy ricotta pancakes absorbed all the complimentary flavors really well. Dandy was indeed dandy. I went a long time ago, back in 2021, and I was so happy to have gone again since they relocated to Old Montreal. The exterior is this new building, but inside, it feels like you're in an old building with rustic textures and colours. The ambiance is so lovely and it truly is the best place for delicious brunch items and taking cute pictures too! My friends and I visited on a Saturday morning without reservations, but we went relatively earlier. We were seated right away for a table of 4 and were served teas and coffee. I ordered the Bone Marrow & Duck Confit which consisted of a country-style bread, duck poached egg, bone marrow, confict duck leg, manchego shavings, herb salted crumble and green peas. It's a massive dish and honestly everything tasted amazing all together. The bone marrow was perfectly cooked and the duck poached egg meld everything together. They also give you another bowl so you can put the marrow once you're done eating it. The bread was needed to soak up every part of this delicious dish. Other items ordered was the Foie Gras (Chef's specialty) which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, caramelized onion compote and crispy proscuitto chips. The chips were a wonderful item to pair with the seared foie gras. The foie gras was perfectly cooked. The Rustic is another fan favourite which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, sautéed mushrooms. pulled pork, potatoes and argula sprouts. it is such a beautiful dish - nice colours, many ingredients and placed well on the plate; not to mention it was so good too! The last item was the Croque Monsieur which has country-style bread, maple-glaed Gaspor acon, confit tomatoes, cheddar, duck sunny side-up egg on an endive salad. You can't pick it up and munch on it, so you know how big this must have been! Even cut into pieces, it requires some maneuvering to munch on it. Great place for brunch. Awesome service too. I would highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a brunch spot!

They also have a full bar for anyone who wants something pretty to sip on while enjoying their meal. The servers were bilingual in French and English, and they were kind, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. My goal was to eat as much foe grais as I can on this trip so I ordered the Foie Gras Poached Eggs. OMG starting off with the bread that was on the bottom, it was so soft and fluffy. Literally melted in my mouth. The foie gras had a beautiful sear and was rich and silky, with a texture that honestly reminded me of ice cream. There was also a touch of sweetness in the sauce that cut through the richness in the best way. Every bite was perfectly balanced. I was super impressed and will absolutely try to visit again the next time I'm in Montreal.
