The food is super fresh. I personally think it's the best O oriental restaurant in the area. I eat there quite a lot because I like their general Sos chicken . I have never had a bad experience with their food. You can only do take out . I recommend it highly. read more

So the reason I preferred Maggie's over other Chinnese resultants...... their sweet and sour wasn't thinned out like all the other Chinnese places - their food was pipping hot and they timmed their meals to be done perfectly! Little things have changed with the reins being turned over to a new family this past summer 2021 - the fried rice isn't as good because "where is the soy sauce?" Low on veggies and the wontons were cold and one short - not bad flavor but the sweet and sour sauce needs to be thicker. I feel like they lost some flavor. I will periodically try but not as frequent as I have always been the past 20 years with the previous owners. This place is going downhill fast in the flavor & quality aspects. It's been a 50/50 ratio of getting decent food and only 10% chance of really good food since Beginning of this year. New cook??? Today's order...2 General Tso that I asked for extra spicy....totally bland. 1 Singapore noodle....zero color...seriously white salty noodles with a few goodies in the mix..no yellow curry. MooSho was nothing but SALT...OH MY GOSH....WE HAD TO TOSS IT. $40 worth of food plus a tip and we had only 2 mediocre things to eat . I'm done. I'm I was a Maggie's big fans!! BUT I don't know why!!General Tso's chicken and chicken Lo Mein were too bad in past few months !!Once the chicken was too sweet and once too sour, it was not stable. Very Disappointed!!!! And once I saw an old man at their back door picking up food like chicken something on the ground and then he putting it on the plate. I don't know what is going on but my to go order has been wrong the last two times I have done a phone order. This time I called to complain and the guy tries to covertly manipulate me by asking me if there is someone else in my house who would eat it. Then proceeds to tell me they can give me a credit for the next time I order! Are you kidding me? Thanks for ruining dinner! After I picked up the right order it was lukewarm and horrible! First time and last time visiting ... sweet and sour chicken made with brown mystery meat... the Lo main sauce was just soy sauce... and the general tsao was frozen chicken tenders with a jar of la choy sauce poured over it... pleasant staff, less than pleasant food read more

The restaurant is not much to look at. When we visited, there was only one other couple in the place...although a few folks came in for take-out. My wife commented on how much the restaurant walls needed to be cleaned and repainted. That being said, our supper was very good. It was served quickly, hot, and fresh. My wife had chicken chow mein, I had a 3-in-1 special, which was General Tso's, sweet & sour shimp, and vegetable lo mein. The serving sizes were ample, and the price was reasonable (we got out of the place for $21 + tip). This is the most delicious Chinese food I have ever had! Especially the garlic shrimp, and fried rice, but that is my favorite;) The staff is very friendly and service is quick! We usually order take out and we have never had a problem. Although this restaurant is about 20 minutes away from our home, it is well worth the trip. The food has always been hot, fresh and again delicious! The price is extremely reasonable, especially the lunch menu! They also have a small dining room. Drove well out of my way to get here, but it was worth it! Curry Chicken with fried rice as good as I've had anywhere. Large slices of white meat. No guessing as to ingredients. Excellent egg roll and homemade mustard very hot and tasty. Wonton soup very good. About 10 miles south of Erie PA. Try it if you can. I think you'll be pleased. This was my third time ordering take out from Maggie's in Waterford PA. The evening I stopped in to order at the counter there was a line going out the door. I came to find out that it was the local schools winter ball and both the dining area and take out counter were busy. Once I ordered I was told it would be about 40 minutes which was understandable due to how busy they were. I went next door to the Waterford Hotel and had a drink and returned 45 minutes later. My order still was not ready and I waited another 15 minutes for it. When I got home the first thing I noticed was that they had not given me the white rice I had ordered. Again no big deal and I chalked it up to a simple oversight. When I opened my beef Lo Mein (larger portion) though I discovered there was pretty much NO beef inside. There was one piece the size of a quarter and other than that only some very small shredded pieces. The last visit when I ordered the same thing it was FULL of beef. The order that my friend had tasted good but was not warm and needed reheating. If this is the best they can do when they are busy with a hour wait for two orders you may want to consider other options if you see a long line or full dining room.
