We would go to Maggiore's two to three times a month over the past year and a half. Mainly because of the chicken wings. Last two times (w/ about two weeks between visits) the wings were raw. When I asked the waitress on our last (and I do mean LAST) visit, she told me I should try to order them crispy. Why should I have to ask to have my chicken wings cooked and not red inside? On the website it states that this is a sports bar with a family environment without the smoke, blaring noise and low quality food. The food is okay, the TV placement is decent but they allow people to smoke on the patio even though the sign says no smoking and whenever someone opens the door it comes flowing into the dining room. In addition, I was sitting next to the wait staff station and suddenly found myself immersed in what looked like smoke. Come to find out it was a waiter, Michael, who was constantly puffing on a vapor cigarette and blowing it into our booth area. We won't be back. read more

I agree with other reviews. People were nice but the young girl that waited on us presented as if it was her first day and did not understand the offering very well. When I asked her opinion on an item she stated, "I heard these were good", which reminded me of a person who explained to me that she just served the food but did not eat here. Anyway, the physical offering was good in terms of features and functional aspects of the place but the food, price and service was lacking. I would probably stick with Dig or Contenders. Just when I was starting to change my tune about north Austin. The man and I ventured to Maggiore's again for a few drinks and some food. Jill was no where to be found and in her place was a mean troll. This guy was a total jerk from the second we sat at the bar until we left. He ovi hated his job, he was rude, and was just in general an ass hole. We ordered 2 drinks and he was clearly bothered by this. He banged around, hit a few things, slapped the screen to ring it up, and sloshed it down in front of us. We had to ask for a menu, clearly bothered him AGAIN. Then bothered him when we asked to order...frankly I think we bothered him just by being in his space. He wasn't nice to the other patrons either. I mean, come on dude. It's Sat night, we would like to have a good night. Just CHILL. I heard him twice bitch about a tip to another guy at the bar. I assume this was a friend of his. So unprofessional! This jerk off was lucky my boyfriend was paying because my tip would of really given him something to bitch about. WILL NOT be back if this guy is there again. this place is in our neighborhood, and we've been a couple of times. the food is ok. your best bet is probably just to stick to pizza. the calamari was terrible!! chewy as can be and no other flavor really. just chewy. the service is ok- last time we sat in the bar- both the bartenders were taking care of us, which is great- except they weren't on the same page at all. both asking (within 1 min. of each-other) the same ?'s. we will continue to go, as it's in the area, but don't expect to get your socks knocked off. read more

Took my wife and kids out Friday night to Maggiores for the first time. We were hoping it was going to be a kid friendly place since it's just down the street from us and and there are not many of those around. Well we found that it was just that. We were immediately greeted at the door and were seated close to the games so the kids could play and my wife and I could watch highlights of the masters. I believe we had our drinks in front of us in about 3 minutes the service was excellent. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, kids pizzas and a stromboli which our waitress recommended. WOW everything was excellent it came out quick it was hot and you could tell it was homemade.....The meatballs were the best I have ever had! and I don't know what they do different with the stromboli but that was also the best we have ever had. We were told that the owners did most of the work in the restaurant and I have to say Hats off guys the place is comfortable and looks very classy. We really had a great experience and look forward to coming back very soon. Hopefully the weather will be nicer so we can sit on your patio. More impressed with the review in the Cedar Park paper than the actual experience. The service was terrible, our waitress 1 forgot my water, 2 forgot the extra plate and dressing to share a salad, 3 never asked if she could get anything else for us. By the way I had to ask 1 for an extra plate and dressing twice (2 different people brought the an extra cup), 2 breadsticks appetizer was served at desert time, 3 had to ask for plates to eat our pizza off of, 3 had to ask for drink refills, 4 had to ask for parmesean and crushed red pepper(What kinda Pizza joint doesn't have this on every table), 4 waitress kept her back to me any time she served other table, no eye contact after ordering AT ALL! My salad was a heaping pile of iceberg lettuce cores(3 of them) yikes, pretty awful! The pizza was fresh. And this family friendly atmosphere has 1 pool table, 2 crane machines and 2 video games crammed in a small corner. Left much to be desired. Best part about this was listening to my favorite Texas Reddirt Musicians. But, I doubt I will choose Maggiore's over Contender's again. read more

Started coming here because this is where the local fan club of my favorite football team meets. The menu is basic American fare. When I say basic, I refer to the choices themselves, and not the flavor and tastiness of the food, which is much better than your average sports themed type restaurant. Everything my wife and i have had was fresh, hot, and delicious. The wings are some of the best outside of Buffalo, and i should know, having grown up there (and having worked at the home of the Buffalo Wing, the Anchor bar). This is one of the few places you can get juicy, flavorful chicken strips. Most places they tend to be on the dry and/or bland side. Not here. My wife loves them! Service has always been fantastic, even during the busy Sunday afternoons we have gone there. The beer is cold and people are friendly. i highly recommend! read more

My dinner salad was okay, but they forgot the onions on my burger. The burger was heavy on the char- taste, but still way too greasy. Hubby's chicken tenders were really BIG (more like split breasts than true tenders) but verrrrry greasy. He had asked our server if the tenders had a lot of breading, and she said "no, they are deep fried." !?!?! The 'hand cut' chips were not salted or seasoned at all, so not much flavor....just crunch. I ate here for the first time recently, and definitely don't plan to go back. My roast beef sandwich was nothing special. I had to ask my server several times for a to go container. She finally brought it the third time I asked. The final blow was when I received my check. I was charged for my sandwich AND tater tots. When taking our order she had asked which side item I wanted. She said the restaurant was known for it's tater tots, so that's what I chose. It turns out the tater tots were extra, not included with the sandwich. What? Then why did she make it sound like they were?!!! I politely asked her about this, and told her she made it sound like these were included with my lunch. Always a great place to eat! Very family oriented. Food is amazing, especially the wings and pizza. The staff are all very friendly and always smiling! The service is quick. Great pizza!! We really like the food and drink specials. There are a ton of flat screen televisions available to catch your favorite game, you would think!!! Do NOT come here to watch a game. We were there last Sunday for Sunday Night Football. They had the game displayed on all of their many TVs but refused to turn off the crappy country music and add the football audio. They had individual TVs volume turned up. Mixed with the music it was beginning to give me and others in our party a headache. When we kindly asked the staff to make the change, they told us that nothing could be done. We then stepped outside and made a call to the restaurant and they very rudely told us that they will NOT change to the football audio and that they never do that. I've been there in the past and they have indeed had the television audio going for games. SO basically they flat out lied. We ended up paying our bill and leaving. Earlier on the same Sunday during the day, we went there to watch some football and they only had the two local games available. They do not have DirecTV NFL Ticket. Again, the pizza was good, the service is okay but if you are going to go for a game, FORGET it. It is a bit deceiving as they have a great set up with a lot of TVs but they do not cater to anyone and fall short on customer service from this perspective. Our family makes Maggiore's a monthly ritual and we get the same thing. Today was a shock! They've raised their prices a lot! We got a smaller pizza than usual but ordered our usual calamarie, pizza rolls, and wings. We walked out paying $13 more than usual. A 1/2 dozen pizza rolls is now almost $12! Off the bat, I ordered a mixed drink, and it wasn't good. The juice tasted old and almost moldy. I ended up ordering a blue moon and shoving the mixed drink aside. Much better. Service was very slow and once our food was dropped, our server never came back to see how everything was. We waited a long time for the check, and once the checks were dropped, he never came back to pick them up. My friend had to physically walk them to the bar. So needless to say, the service sucked, but the food was very good. I had the hot roast beef sandwich with au ju and horseradish and a side of tots. My friends had the wings which were good and build your own Stromboli which was alright (I come from the Midwest so it's hard to please me when it comes to italian food). Our checks weren't too high in the end so I would say that money-wise, it was worth it. The atmosphere was your average sports bar which is a bit comforting. Felt like a nice neighborhood joint. Just such a bummer when the service lacks. As a server, I know how hard I bust my butt to make my guests have a good experience at all times. Had to go in the middle here. Went in the afternoon on a Saturday, short wait for hostess to seat us. We ordered a pizza and 2 Caesar salads and 2 sodas. The salads were a bit overwhelmed with dressing, tart to get through. The pizza was good, loved the sauce, I'm a fan of crispy pepperoni. Overall it was a decent experience, except the server processed the neighboring table's bill on my debit card, as well as my own bill. So I paid for my $24 tab and their $46 tab. The transaction was cancelled, but it still shows in pending and has been deducted from my available balance. Ordinarily not a big deal either, except this is the weekend and pending won't clear until Monday. Being just a teacher, I'm now very low on cash for the weekend. Above all else, you should be able to trust an establishment with your payment methods. A disappointing end. read more

My husband and I stopped for lunch, our first visit. I ordered a personal size pizza, thin crispy crust. I was very disappointed in both the flavor (lack of) and the soft, droopy crust. The fans were blowing so hard I was actually cold and couldn't wait to leave. My husband's hamburger was okay, again the fans quickly cooled down the food, so the fries went cold quickly. My husband and I eat here about once a week. Everything I've tried on the menu so far has been really good! Love the fresh ingredients and real chicken, beef, and vegetables (no pre-made fake burger patties or flash frozen chicken). The dressings are good and the salad fresh. My husband and I love the breaded mushrooms appetizer. The staff is really nice. I have scrolled down and read some of the really nitpicky reviews. I think people get a bit overly critical and impatient when they are hungry, but quite honestly the staff is always nice. Not sure what restaurant they were referring to about the staff, but it doesn't match this place at all. We only live about a mile from this little gem and will be coming back soon!
