I love the heat and being poolsides but sometimes a change in good. Also it's a must do if it's your first time to Palm Springs. It's at the beginning of town before you get to downtown. If you're coming in from the 10 onto the 111, it'll be your first right when you start to enter the city. You won't miss it with the sign to your right and the Palm Springs signs coming in. It's a couple miles drive up to the security gate to check in. We got the season pass so that helps with the parking. Parking is 15.00 I believe per car but with the season pass, it covers it. Attended will normally tell you which lot to park your car. If it's busy, they do have a good amount of lots but you'll be a bit further from the tram. There's trolleys that come often to pick up people instead of walking up the hill. Tickets can be purchase via online or in person at the counter. Trams run every 15 min both up and down. If you purchase your tickets online, be sure to be a little earlier for the departure time or else you'll have to be on standby for the next one. It takes about 10 minutes or so to the top. Every spot on the tram is great as it rotates the whole way up so getting that perfect picture will be a cinch. Top of the tram has a restaurant, a cafeteria, a bar, museum, gift shops and observation deck. Lockers and restrooms are also available. But if hiking is what you're looking for, you've come to the right place. That what we love to do when we're here and the season pass is perfect. Unlimited visit and free parking. Plus 10 percent off at bar and restaurant. We've done a few hikes here but never had the chance to check out hidden lake. Oh, there's a short walk down the path to where the hikes and ranger stations are. Nature is beautiful so you should check it out. Anyone hiking or camping needs to fill out a permit at the ranger station. It ask for your information incase anything happens while you're out. Once you finished the hike, drop off your copy at the mailbox and you're done. As we're doing the loop hike, a permit is needed for that. But adding the hidden lake, a separate permit is also needed for that . It's limited and only available on certain days. We were told that the lake is dry as it's the summer season but the view is spectacular. Regardless of what hike you do, they're all amazing. With hidden lake, ranger do show you some pictures as a cut off as there's no sign to guide you. Once there, it would have been beautiful to actually see it with water. There's a fence that restricts people from crossing over to the lake or a fine will be given incase. Lake itself isn't that massive but if you continue on the trail and cross over the little bridge, the view is what makes the hike. Just standing there and taking it all in was amazing. Looking down to the valley but being so high up was just something you don't get to do often, for some people. The benefit of the tram, you get to beat the heat of the valley. It's a good 20/30 degrees cooler on top. A nice restaurant for dinner when sunset happens. Not sure you could catch it as it maybe covered with the mountains. It's a fun place to spend the day out hiking. You can camp or spend the afternoon lounging at the observation deck with a drink in hand and enjoy the scenery. A cute little picnic down the path to the mountain. It's a place that's worth checking out whenever you're in Palm Springs.

The drive up to the parking lot and visitors center is quite a journey. There's almost nothing around as you begin to drive up the incline to the parking lot. When you make it to the gate, I was so perplexed with how this tram is going to make it up such a steep incline. Welp, the tram ride is quicker than I anticipated but it was still very enjoyable to see the amazing views of the Coachella Valley. The platform slowly rotates so you'll have the chance to get a full 360 view. It was very crowded on the way up but sparse on the way down. We did the short trail loop once we arrived on the top of Mt San Jacinto. The hike is easy and fun to explore. There are longer, more technical routes but for us, the shorter 30 minute hike was all we needed. I would definitely recommend the tramway for anyone looking to get away from the heat. If you're a fan of Huell like I am, then this is a must.

The first 2 trips were put together by an employee who has since retired; she was incredible, very responsive, had everything squared away for us. This 3rd trip was put together by Guillaume Van Wyck at Great Safaris. The accommodations were excellent and we'll be returning to Kenya to several of them. The overall trip was really great, and was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as we anticipated. HOWEVER... communication from Great Safaris was not good. I had to email repeatedly to get answers to questions. Information about obtaining visas was non-existent, and when we had issues, we got a last-minute email that would have been helpful earlier. A hot-air balloon excursion in the Serengeti wasn't scheduled for us (even though we paid for it), so we didn't get to take it; Great Safaris did refund our money, but we wish we could have taken the excursion. Serious mistake on their part. Questions about scheduling went unanswered; we didn't get itinerary times until we were in Africa, and only by asking the people at the lodges. Great Safaris should have provided all of that to us. All in all, we would recommend a safari trip for anyone loving animals and a truly amazing experience. BUT WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GREAT SAFARIS.

We were a…read moremultigenerational group of 9 taking a safari trip to celebrate my parents' 50th anniversary, so we had ages ranging from 73 to 6. Dave managed to set up the trip of a lifetime for us, finding special activities that the kids would enjoy while simultaneously ensuring that the entire group had a wonderful time. He chose spectacular accommodations for us in Nairobi, Samburu, and the Masai Mara region of Kenya. We spent 3 nights at a luxury hotel in Nairobi at the beginning of our trip to acclimate, and one night there at the end of the trip before returning home to Washington. He organized a wonderful visit to the Giraffe Center as well as the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see elephants up close. These visits were absolutely fantastic for the kids, and the adults got just as much out of seeing these animals up close. Dave organized small flights (10 seat airplanes) within Kenya to get us from Nairobi to Samburu and then from Samburu to the Masai Mara. Both flights were incredible, and were an experience in and of themselves. It was such a pleasure having everything organized for us and being able to just show up. Particularly since we were traveling with 3 kids under the age of 12, we appreciated Dave's efforts in making everything as smooth and seamless as possible. The entire trip was an adventure, and it felt safe and luxurious due to the places we stayed and the guides we had. His knowledge of the area and his years of experience in setting up similar trips in Africa led to the most wonderful trip any of us have ever taken. We can't recommend him enough!

We are so used to jet travel and flying at 35,000 feet, we don't realize that we really don't feel the sensation of flying. Try flying in an open cockpit wearing goggles and feeling the wind as it comes off the propeller and over the wings. Watch as cars on the freeway are whizzing along at a higher rate of speed (illegally of course). Fly up into the mountains canyons and watch below for people and animals and actually be able to see them. It is a rush that you won't forget. The fun begins the minute you walk into the Atlantic Air executive jet terminal and you look out on the tarmac and see all of these executive jets lined up next to this blue and yellow biplane. Ask one of the executive pilots what they think, I did, and they will all tell you that they would love to take the biplane up for a spin. Put on you googles and go for a flight. You will love it. Or, just give a ride as a gift. I did and the two recipients couldn't stop talking about the experience.

The pool is nice however they don't tell you anywhere on the map that their showers are locked…read moreafter 10 PM. I've never been to an RV park where you don't have access a shower on site. Should anything happen to your RV like ours did and needed to be serviced and we did not have to have access to our RV shower. The groundskeeper said he even looked at the map and agreed that it was listed nowhere on the e map that the showers close at 10 PM all that it says is the fitness center closes at 10, but that's not the same as a shower. I was not going to work out. I was going to shower. The two showers are located attached to the pool and I get that they want to close the pool off past 10 PM, but maybe they should build a separate shower for patrons separate from the pools so that if they need access and take showers after 10 o'clock that we have the option too. Also, there's no air conditioning in the bathrooms by the tennis courts. That was the only bathroom that's open 24 hours without a shower. There are bugs all over in the sink and the bathroom was 112° inside (at 10:30 at night) They should probably walk around the property as the ceilings are falling apart hopefully there's no mold in here that we are breathing. This is in the state of the Art workout facility with the ceiling about two pieces fall down. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one was because the pool was nice that's it. However, the pool was closed due to pool cleaning on our first night here.
