I am impressed by Magic's customer focused operation. I work at a local hospital and enjoy the perks of using our concierge service for dry cleaning and tailoring (by Magic Cleaners). My dry cleaning has always come back pristine. Last week I needed a bridesmaid dress hemmed up a few inches (polyester, 2 layered, no embellishment or designs). I was shocked by the price I was charged -- it was $30-35 more than the going rate of other tailors in the Pasadena area. I called and spoke with them directly about the price and they were very kind and accommodating and we were able to work things out quickly. I've been a customer since 2007 and won't go anywhere else. Koko and his team take such care with the their processes. They do many finishing touches that other cleaners don't do, like stuffing jacket sleeves and shoulders with tissue paper so they don't crush and wrinkle, and pressing/steaming some items by hand for the best possible result. They leave me messages if they think an item might take a day or two longer -- because they want to spend extra time on a stain - seriously, can you name any other merchant who's that thoughtful and customer-centric? I didn't want to write this review until after I got my clothes back. I live in a facility here in Pasadena. I just received some clothing that I deemed too delicate for the industrial machines that they use here. Plus, they only wash in hot water. They don't even rinse in cold, which would be nice to get rid of some of the odors. Anyway, I'll start with the not-so-bad stuff. A day later than promised, the driver arrived with my clothes. Everything was folded and packed in clear wrap. Really packed. Once I got everything freed, I started hanging things up. Three shirts, two sweaters and two pants. Everything was fine except for one of the sweaters. It got totally wrinkled by the fold. I just hope the wrinkles come out on the hanger. Now the turn-off. In the beginning... After I handed the driver my clothes, I was expecting some kind of a receipt. Well, guess what? They DON'T supply receipts? WHAT? They expect ME to give them MY clothes with NO proof of the transaction? The driver, sympathetic to my point, offered me one of his business cards. I accepted his card and said I would call the office. I called the office and spoke to a young lady who's name I do not recall. I explained to her my trepidations about handing over my stuff without getting a receipt. She said that from now on she would have the driver issue me a receipt. I was satisfied with that. At least she was trying to be accommodating. Unfortunately, my satisfaction wasn't to last very long! Less than an hour later she calls back to tell me that her Boss would NOT allow the driver to issue me a receipt! I told her that her Boss is an ass... and not to expect anymore business from me. She said she understood. I cannot even begin to fathom that there are so many people out there that are willing to risk their laundry, or whatever, on just a promise! What would happen if the store burnt down or the delivery van caught fire? What proof would I have that I gave these people anything at all? It's ludicrous! So, now I'm looking for another pickup\delivery type laundry or cleaners. You know what the first thing I'm going to ask them is! "Do you provide receipts?" . read more

Better service than I've ever experienced at a Dry Cleaners. I will never go anywhere else.

I always say a business is only as good as it's problems. All can be dandy until there is a problem. I have used this cleaners for over a year and all had been okay Last week I had them clean a very expensive Dolce & Gabbana blouse. It has special cleaning instructions and since it was an expensive blouse I wrote them a note saying please follow the cleaning directions. They did not and so now the vibrant bright white is dingy and the black flowers faded. This is only the 2nd time it has been cleaned. When I spoke to the owner and mentioned that I could tell by the shape of the tags and condition on the blouse they didn't follow the manufactures directions. He said," We know how to clean clothes here." I said, "There is a problem with my blouse, and he said you are the problem. I said I would write about this on Yelp and he said go ahead." So here you have it. One last comment is that he made all these statements without seeing or asking to see the blouse. read more

I'm absolutely amazed at how well they dry cleaned my chipao that was made out of crepe satin. I had salad dressing oil stains on my dress, and they removed it perfectly. My dress looked as good as new! I also gave them a tough drop by wanting them to remove dirt stains on my yellow satin skirt. They did the best job they could without trying to damage the fabric. I also had my wedding gown dry cleaned there too. You have two options. You can have your gown stored in a box or have it hang from a hanger. I decided to hang my wedding gown since I don't have an attic or space to store a large box. It took them almost a month to dry clean my gown. However my wedding gown turned out to be as good as new! It's been two years since I last wore my gone. I had sweat stains on the inside and now they're gone. Because my wedding gown is very special and complicated in its construction, Magic Cleaners took extra care of it. My gown is not the type that I would have shipped to David's Bridal to have it preserved. If you live anywhere in Southern California, I would strongly recommend to hire Magic Cleaners for your wedding gown preservation and dry cleaning service. They are the best! Fast, good quality, friendly, and FAST! I have a toddler at home, so my suits stay clean for about 30 minutes if he is around them. I always take my suits and ties to Magic Cleaners for quick and dependable service. They are great at getting out everything that my toddler can literally throw at me. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about dry cleaning or why I pay someone to wash my shirts when I can do it myself. But anyway, I thought this place deserved a positive rating based on my first experience. I dropped off a pair of pants and a white shirt. They told me to come back in a few days, but told me my shirt was not ready because they had seen a stain that did not come out after the first wash. I know this is a small thing, but the stain itself was tiny and hardly noticeable. Needless to say I thought this reflected well on this establishment so big ups to them. read more

I went here last year and NOW writing about it! It is very quick yet the friendliest service ever. Some dry cleaners just take the clothes, give you the tab, and you are out the door. Evne though it's for a few minutes, Magic Cleaners make it a very friendly experience. I really give them extra points for their system of letting people know when their clothes are ready. Everything is done right and on time, and they even did an extra special order overnight for me when lots of places would have just said I was past the cut-off time for overnight service. Terrible customer service and communication! I need buttons added to a pair of overalls I had and I called ahead of time and spoke with a woman who confirmed they had a special machine that could add button holes and then they could put buttons on my item. I specifically asked her if they had this machine because it's super hard to find and I've been calling all around town to find one that installs button holes. After she confirmed they had this machine she told me to wait until Monday to come in so instead of letting me come in on the weekend I trekked down there after work only to be turned away by the lady working the front who said they didn't have that machine. After explaining to the lady that I spoke with someone who said they could do it all she said was "well there must have been miscommunication or something" and left it at that. I truly don't understand why this place gets such good reviews. The quality has plummeted over the last year at least My husband's shirts were returned to us with the exact same obvious dirt that we took the shirts in with. This happened numerous times. My husband is not even a picky person and for him to notice it, it was pretty bad. The last straw is when I took a new designer dress in to be dry cleaned. I had only worn it one time. The dress came back with an arc of material around the neck area now a lighter color than the rest of the dress. It was a perfectly shaped arc that looked like it was created from a machine used for the cleaning or pressing of garments. After numerous calls to the owner that were not returned, I finally reached him. He insisted that I must have bought the dress that way. Seriously???? If I noticed it within 5 seconds of picking up my dry cleaning, I think I would have noticed it when I tried on the dress, or when I bought it, or even when I wore it the first time. He took no responsibility whatsoever. I will never go back there. read more
