was charged $70 for a basic mani-pedi with regular nail polish. place was not super clean, and lots of random white pieces of paper on the wall with disclaimer about certain fees. regular nail polish looks super old like it's hasnt been replaced. praying I don't get a fungus. Also when I asked the women if they prefer cash or card she failed to tell me about the extra fee for using my card. i can't believe that i just got charged 45.00 for a pedicure also none of the prices are listed in there. They do a half ass basic job and have the audacity to charge 45.00 for it. They took the priceboard down that they used to have and jacked up the prices with out your knowledge. Then they sock you with an outrageous price. for that service given it is an outrageous price. this was so not worth the money. such a rip off. this was a basic pedicure. nothing fancy. no wonder why theres never anyone in there. Wish I would have read reviews before coming here. Wish I could give them NO stars. The lady who was doing my nails did not understand English, and totally butchered my nails. She attempted to do a dip manicure on me, and told me it would look better with a tip added on 1 of my fingers. I tried to explain to her that the nail tip was lifting off. But she did not understand (or care). My nails looked so thick and bumby, I almost cried and asked her to take them off after she completed one hand. Worse nails I ever got! If I could put no stars I would.I got acrylics and changed the color to a red gel polish, not even a week later it came off. It obviously WAS NOT gel, and they charged me for gel and DIDN'T even give me my money back cuz they wrongly charged me. I will never be going back there. Save your money and go to Saigon nails, a couple extra dollars but really better service and better quality nails and they never come off like that! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I went in specifically asking for my hard gel nails to be taken off with an electric file because I'm trying to keep them long and healthy. He continued to just rip my hard gel nails off and charge me for it, which I could have done for free at home. As soon as he did that to the first one I asked him to stop and do it with the file but he ignored me. He then literally cut all of my nails SUPER short after I had originally asked for the exact opposite. I'm so upset and will never come back here. I've been coming here for years. These past few months, my experiences have gotten progressively worse. Once it was a foul odor that couldn't be explained. Credit card machine is always down. Today was the final straw and I decided that it is time to find a new place. I find myself to be a patient person, but after sitting in the pedicure chair for almost an hour, and noticing people who came in after me being serviced, I started to get a little bothered. Not only is it not the first time this has happened, from reading some reviews online, it has happened to others. Eventually, I just got up and left. I understand if a place is backed up and/or understaffed. This clearly wasn't the issue. They are unorganized and need to work on this. They need to acknowledge their customers, not just the ones they are on a first name basis with. read more

If you need acrylic or gel fake nails you must ask for Tom. Tom the owner has been doing my nails for 2 years and he is by far the best I have ever had. They don't fall off in 2 weeks , they aren't too thick and the shape is just right. I won't go anywhere else! read more

Horrible!! I asked for dip manicure, typical places charge $35. This place wanted $35 only for dip polish but additional $10 for the manicure part, which is cutting the cuticles which is what is usually included in manicures!? Like being charged an extra $10 to cut my cuticles that's unheard of. I decided to do the gel manicure, it was $27 which was a better option. Not my normal place to do my nails but needed my nails done that weekend. Not even a week goes by and my gel manicure has lifted and started peeling!! Never will I go here again nor recommend!! Randomly stopped into magic nails due to a good friend of mine living in the area. I normally hate trying new nail salons because im extremely picky. I had a little bit of a wait but it was well worth it. Tom the owner did an amazing job on my nails. He was not only personable and friendly but he catered exactly what I wanted. He made sure I was 100 percent satisfied with the quality of his work. I think I found my new nail salon. read more

Went in for a pedicure. These people do not know how to paint nails. The massage and callus removal was great. The pedicure was almost done - the girl who was doing the pedi applied the base coat then disappeared and took her lunch without informing me. Another person took over a few Mounties later and proceeded to paint nails. What a hack job polish all over my skin. When I complained he angrily took the polish off and then I waited another ten minutes for the original person to come off her lunch only to do a fair job of painting. Then they spoke in another language probably about me being picky. Learn how to paint nails. Ridiculous. So bad I was also going to do manicure and told them to forget it. Waste of time. Near by came here as part of a Mother's Day present from my daughter. Notice change in owners, request 4 manicure 2 pedicures and a change of color. Everything was fine until client start coming thru the door staff started to get nervous and start to rush. My manicure was sloppy color every where not clean, felt bad because at the end my daughter was going to pay for it, took my 2 stepdaughter with me for manicure the gentlemen doing the service was unprofessional he made my step daughter wait for a change of color for her toes something he could had done and finish her service without keeping her waiting. Well no, took another client for the same service change of color, it don't matter how old the client is still a client completely rude. The kid doing the pedicure on my daughter he put a lot of effort to do a good job he didn't know how to do a manicure ??? WHAT? Not only he didn't know how to do a manicure neither to do or apply gel color. Question, how are you doing pedicures then? My daughter continue waiting for someone to decide to do the manicure and gel color, keeping in mind we were there for a good hour and half and still waiting she got up decide to go to her car to get her glasses. I believe the owner or manager or don't know, she got up and start asking if I was going to pay how we going to pay when she's not done yet, she pay " no " she's coming back you haven't done her manicure and she still waiting. We were the first one coming thru the door everyone else is getting service done and we still here and on top of that you think we are leaving without paying you, now we are. Well at this point we are upset embarrass and humiliated. We try to pay, the credit card machine was not working " no signs any where that it wasn't working at all" 2 credit card use no luck the problem continue. Offer to do a check they wanted my credit card num in the check, my lic. And my info. Is already there at this point the lady owner I think came back and said to please understand. UNDERSTAND I'm a master stylist for 30 plus year and never been so humiliated like this, your customer service is the worse, your not running a zoo is a salon. Who's the manager, who works the front, who does what in this place? Unorganized, unprofessional, if you want to pay for a bad service and humiliation come here to Johnston.
