I usually love it there, but today I went for a pedicure with regular polish trying to relax because I had a long day. The woman doing my nails was so pushy and adamant that I needed gel. She kept telling me that they didn't have the specific colors I was asking for in regular polish, only gel. I by accidentally scratched the polish before I left and while she fixed it she kept saying that if I got gel, it would not have happened. I also asked for white with pink sparkles and she kept asking "are you sure?" every 5 seconds while she did it. I was going there to relax and she honestly made me more stressed because she would not stop. She also repeatedly asked me while I had my feet under the fan when I was going to pay and wouldn't let me leave until my tip went through on venmo. She was so pushy!! read more

Absolutely horrendous. I clearly asked for just a fill and the woman started cutting off the tips & my real nails that I have worked so hard to grow!!! She also cut the skin of my pinky under my nail, and I got very startled because it caused pain and she told me "don't worry about it" !!??? I asked her what she was doing and she said I needed new ones. That's not what I asked for!!!! Then she tells me to pick it off myself and hands me a broken tip to scrape my own nails ???!!! "No, that's not a bad gel mani, that's your nail." This is what I got told when I complained about how terrible my nails came out. It may not seem like a big deal and it really isn't, but getting my nails done is the one thing I look forward to every couple of weeks and only thing I do for myself. After coming here for months since January to get mani pedis, gel manicures, acrylic full sets and having a few bad experiences I decided I would continue to give it a chance until today. I went in to have my acrylics removed and the girl started to rip them off with nail tips. After mentioning to her that she was hurting me she continued to pull them off until she ripped my natural nail off along with the acrylic. This is my new go-to place!! I used to rarely get my nails done but since I've found this place I can't resist! A friend of mine had recommended a bunch of nail salons and Kai's was one of them. I tried the other places first but they were all too busy for me so then I decided to try here. When I arrived I noticed how large and spacious the salon was. They have many nail stations and several pedicure stations. They were busy, but because of the amount of space they have they were able to fit me in. I have never received a better manicure in my life. My nail tech was so nice and did an amazing job on my nails. I got a gel manicure and everyone asked me if my nails were real, they looked that good!! Their prices are great too. A gel manicure is only $22 which I can afford every 2-3 weeks. I am very happy with their work and I have been back a few times since. I will continue to go there!!! Highly recommended!!!! read more

I had a few broken nails since I have been too busy to maintain regular appointments and came in and asked for the remainder of my nails to be soaked off. My nail tech used the nail file and clippers to get off two of them despite my request and partially soaked off the other two and filed it off injuring me. When gluing on the tips, on two nails she removed the tips to re-adjust then filed them and added another tip. She injured me again. I asked for square tip and skinny since I figured that couldn't possibly be messed up. But of course the shapes are all inconsistent. Then going over my nails post powder with the electric nail file, she manages to cut me FOUR times within the first two nails on my right hand. I asked for another nail tech and she refused. I've never had the area around my nails sting so badly even the day after. My thumb looks like it's going to be infected. For a set take off and new set it should have been $30 and I didn't even have a full set to take off and I didn't even put any polish on and she charged me $33. read more

I have been here a handful of times since a yelp friend recommended it. I have only had one sub-par experience. My nail polish was bumpy and eventually those bumps "popped' and wiped off half of the nail polish on that finger. Also two of my nails broke with in the first week. I believe this was from this particular technician filing the tips at an angle (seemed a bit odd of her to do that since it makes the tips of your nails thin) Either way I have learned my lesson to ask for Kenya. She is a perfectionist. She takes her time, so don't go in a hurry. Your outcome will be perfect nails that last until your next visit 2-3 weeks later. I have weak, thin nails so I choose gell manicures at a minuscule price of $22, you really can't go wrong. My nails since doing gell have been long and beautiful. I have never had to wait, I go on Thursdays and have both manis and pedis. They also offer gell pedis which most places dont. read more

I decided to come here since I needed a mani pedi today and the salon got good reviews. I got stuck with the new girl. I just left the salon after not enjoying the experience at all. My nail was so sharp it scratched my steering wheel. Then I noticed nail polish build up on the tip of my nail. I paid extra for Vinylux nail polish since I want them to last. I don't even know if it will last till tomorrow. The soaking water was cold and the pedicure water was lukewarm and the young tech that did my nail spoke no English. 9/9/17 This place was recommended by a their former worker, that I met at the eyebrow place earlier that day. Atmosphere Upon entering this place, I thought it was clean. There were about 9-10 chairs for pedicures and 9 tables for manis. The walls are painted a pale blue. No real theme in their decor. The chairs are cool. Service The hostess was friendly at first but quick to dismiss me. She gave me answer and she was already asking someone behind me what they needed. Umm, what if I had a follow up question? They let me soak for 15 minutes before Kelly came by. Kelly did a great job on the cuticles and the massage, but not so great with the heel. I wanted her to get all in there with that grater tool. I didn't even see her take it out. The customer next to me had the grater done. Weird. Kelly then painted one toe and asked if I was happy with the color. I was and I was glad she asked. Then she dipped a brush into a cup of alcohol to clean off any mistakes. Mani Kelly said very little to me. I'm fact I wouldn't call her friendly. The job was done well. Fast forward four weeks. Have been going here for a few years, was almost always pleased. But lately it's been terrible. There are a couple of girls who always do a great job, but most of them are not very good at all. I went in about 10 days ago, with 5 acrylic nails completely missing and 5 still very much in good shape. The tech INSISTED repeatedly that I needed a whole new set, which of course is more expensive, instead of just doing 5 new ones and filling the rest. But I agreed. Spent the next 15 minutes getting 5 perfectly good nails ripped off, which they of course charged me extra for. Except they charge to take all 10 off, even though they're only doing half the work. Again, I said fine. The tech did a so-so job, burned me a couple of times with the electric file, and made the new nails extremely thin, as well as kind of ragged and sticking up on the edge along the cuticle on a couple of them. I tried to explain this to her, but she just shrugged and acted like she didn't quite understand me. Because of all the extra charges, it ended up costing me about double what I normally pay. I still tipped her well. In less than a week, one of the brand new nails ripped completely off for no reason. I went in to get it fixed, which normally would be free after such a short time, and the manager had the nerve to charge me to fix it, when it was their lousy job that made it break in the first place. Not to mention they put it back on very crookedly. I was fed up at that point, but then this morning I ripped off another 2 brand new tips in quick succession, while doing absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. Before this, I had very seldom broken a nail, maybe 2 or 3 total in the past few years. All in all, a new set of acrylic nails with gel polish + 20% tip, as well as the fix, ended up costing me $70. And now I have 2 more snapped off, which will undoubtedly cost me at least another $6, unless I want to walk around looking ridiculous after paying all that money in the first place. I'm not going back again, unless it's a dire emergency, and I have no other choice. And even then, only if I can make an appointment with someone who actually knows what she's doing. read more

I've been going here for years and my nail tech was more concerned at first with her phone. Once that was all set she did my nails. Rushed through. Paid 45 for a French manicure. I had her fix one of my nails that had broke. That.one fell off in a few days time. My French manicure started to peels days after. I have recently fallen in love with gel nails (I know, like 10 years after everyone else), and with the prices at Kai's Nails ($22 for a gel mani, cheaper than most other places in the area), I can actually afford to get them regularly! This place is the worst!! I got my nails done yesterday in this salon. The lady who did my nails was so rude. She made two of my cuticles bleed and ignored it like she couldn't see it. She used the drill on my nails way too much. It was so painful and she did not even apologize. Today, my cuticles are swollen because of her. Another thing, i showed her a picture of what design i would like to get, but she did a very different design!! Not even close at all!! Came here based on the great reviews. I called ahead and was able to book an appointment pretty quickly. Upon arrival, my tech sat me down and brought me sets of colors. I chose to do a gel manicure: tiramisu for two by OPI--a cult classic. Although I do like the color, my experience felt a bit rushed despite there not being anyone waiting. She did a good job, though left more space between the cuticle than I would have liked. Additionally, shaping the nails was rather uneven. Lastly, the thumb has an air bubble from applying the coats too quickly and not letting it dry. Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back. read more
