I went here for the first time after several friends recommended me this place. When I walked in, they were definitely busy for sure! The interior was so clean and organized and modern. They even had decorations for Christmas! They were so accommodating to what I wanted for my nails. My nail tech was so friendly and personable. Decent hours if you're in a pinch but expect to get rushed service even if you pay for upgraded services. After waiting 30 minutes with cold water for my pedicure and asking for an update, the front desk worker (who told me his name is Owner haha) angrily told me that if I didn't want to get my service done I could get out. So I did! If I was a walk in, it would be no big deal. But, I booked the appointment to start at 12:15 and I just left now at 12:45 when I'm posting this... two women who also had an appointment (starting after mine) sat down and received immediate service. Would genuinely not have been a big deal until the Owner got visibly angry and told me to leave when I asked when I could expect the nail tech. Hardly get my nails done or write reviews like this but felt compelled to after this experience. To preface, Im posting this as a hope that Magic takes more care with their walk ins or stop the service when you continually hurt the customer. Walked in today for a no chip manicure and could tell very that the tech that was assigned to me was new or having an off day. Ive been nicked before when getting my cuticles pushed back and trimmed but never like this. She used the nail file to ram my cuticles back before soaking them which hurt. Then after some soaking she started trimming my cuticles which I got cut initially which happens sometimes and am completely understanding. However, to make all of my fingers on my left bleed is unacceptable. She was very apologetic and quickly used a skin protector to stop the bleeding and thought she would move on from there but instead continued to trim my cuticles and continually re-open to wound which got to be incredibly painful especially on my middle finger. Im very understanding and left the service just fine but noticed how badly my cuticles bad been pushed back and even my middle finger to still be bleeding as I paid (first pictures) and even worse by the time I got back home (last picture) . Again, I dont write this to push ill will to the tech who did this. If anything, I hope they stop services after continually hurting the client. read more

I was recommended this place by a friend. Specifically to see Kate. She did my design exactly how I wanted it however 2 days later my Right thumb nail broke while I was putting on my gym shoe. I went to get fixed right after work in crazy rush hour traffic just for the women at the front desk to turn me around because Kate was with a client (I was willing to wait). I gave them some push back because they ACCEPT WALK INS yet told Me "you don't have an appointment or anything". Why do need an appt for a single nail repair when you take walk ins?? Fast forward, I get it fixed that Fri. I noticed that from the initial appt my nails were lifting literally days later. I went out yesterday and grabbed a drink out of the fridge at the store and now my Left thumb nail broke! I'm not going to bother going back tbh. But if you look at my pictures you'll see the lifting. Including the nail I just repaired 3 days ago! This set has not even made it 2 weeks yet. I DID love my pedicure tho. Some of the women at the front desk are a little rude as well. Had Kate as a tech - I was rushed to pick a color. I took more than 10 seconds and she was annoyed and told me to sit so she could wrap my nails to remove what I had on, while I still tried to look for a color, which was hard to do while getting wrapped. I had 2 options but she hastily made me move again and I lost the 2 options I'd set aside. Ended up just choosing something I didn't want so she could get started that was supposed to match my toes (it doesn't, at all). We always make an appointment and about five months ago we're told we would have to wait 45 mins to get taken care of so we left. The last time, they made us wait 20 mins to be seated. Today, we waited 15 mins to be seated then sat in the chairs another 15 mins until only one mail specialist came over and said they would do both of us separately. The manicure was fine but a little basic, not much detail given. Pedicure was great except I'm not sure why we have to spend five dollars extra to have calluses removed. Most places include this in the cost of a pedicure. There was not an empty seat in the house yet they charge to use a credit card. This should be part of doing business. first time visiting Magic Nails. I typically go to the one in Lemont but decided to stop here on my way home from work. I am a physician so don't go often. I requesting Justin based on reviews. Very disappointed by my experience. noticed I wasn't treated like other customers from the minute I walked into the door. Wasn't offered water. My jacket was tossed into another chair. During the pedicure when I would ask for my nails to be trimmed shorter was told that he already did, asked if he could smooth out my callus and he said he already did. I atleast expected him to paint my nails properly. He did 2 coats without a top coat. I paid for the essential spa pedicure which is what I usually get in Lemont. The nail polish didn't even last 3 hours (see picture below). For some reason they don't add a top coat here despite charging $50. Wouldn't come here again. read more

I can't speak higher of any other manicurist than I can about Nikki! Nikki is truly the best I have encountered in the Chicagoland area (and I assure you, I went to many). She takes so much time and precision in meeting my expectations for designs, many of which seem to be difficult to other less experienced nail techs. I can't recommend Nikki enough, I'll never go to anyone else as long as I live here in Illinois. I also get my gel pedicures here every 6 weeks or so, and I've never been steered in the wrong the direction as to who to go to by Nikki, ask for her recommendation for your pedicure tech! Lastly, super clean, great color selection, extra friendly staff who will do whatever they can to get you in! Extremely disappointed in the service I received here today. Upon arrival I notified a man that I was coming in for a pedicure and full set, I let him know I needed some of the nails from my previous set removed. Once they where finished with my pedicure they brought me over to begin my acrylic set. The woman who was going to do my nails took out what looked like a shaft cuticle trimmer/ cutter and began ripping off my nails forcefully. She took one off and made a comment about how the gel I had was very gluey. She proceeded to take off another nail until she broke one of my nails, I pulled back, IT HURT SOO MUCH ! My nail was throbbing and she applied pressure on it. She began asking me where I had gotten my nails done... I let her know where and ADDED that they never rip my nails of in the other salon instead they soak them off and they come right off. She then wrapped the nail she broke in acetone, Cotten and foil. Why couldn't she do that from the beginning? I saw other customers who's nails where being soaked off this way (in foils). I noticed my nail was bleeding and I decided to take a picture of it. When she saw this she asked me "Are you going to sue me?" I looked at her confused and uncomfortable. I told her I wanted my nails short and almond. She said that would not look nice. I said I wanted my nails marble she also said it would not look nice on short nails. She then asked me if I felt uncomfortable. I said yes, how am I not suppose to feel uncomfortable after what you just asked me and then everything I ask for is not going to look nice. It was so rude, so unprofessional, and there was no need for nail to end up broken when it could of been soaked off. I told her I would feel comfortable if someone else did my nails. She said no I do your nails but feel comfortable. No, how am I suppose to feel comfortable now. I told her instead I would leave instead. I paid for my pedicure and asked her to talk to Management. There was so many people there I felt uncomfortable already and more uncomfortable with possibly making a scene. I told management about my experience, she asked to see where I had been cut almost as if I had a reason to lie about it. I felt so uncomfortable. The first picture shows my finger bleeding in the nail area. In the second picture she glued a nail tip right where she cut my nail. My finger is still throbbing and I am worried this may cause further injury to my nail. read more

Honestly, one of the worst services I've ever received. My boyfriend works at the Oakbrook Center and I wanted to get my nails done before he got off work. I came in around 3:20 and didnt leave until almost 5. The first woman did a great job with shaping and laying the acrylic on my left hand, but then i was handed off to someone else. She made my nails too thick, changed the shape, and when i told her i didnt like them she made them shorter and rounder so they look stubby, burned me with the drill multiple times, It even burned while the acrylic was drying. And to top it all off i had to pay $70 ! For a terrible service. Would never come here again. Im surprised because its a nice salon and in a nice area. I wouldve gotten better customer service and an overall experience at my salon back home. read more

I went in for a manicure with dip powder and a spa pedicure, specifically booking my manicure with Helen based on a recommendation. Everything started out fine. After the lotion was put on my hands Helen told me I was all set. There was still dip powder all over my fingers. It was my first time getting dip powder so I was confused as to why she wouldn't clean up the excess powder. She said it would come off if I washed my hands multiple times. I asked if she could remove the very visible blotches around my nail beds. Helen then proceeded to use cuticle cutters to cut my skin instead of just taking a brush and remover to get the job done. She claimed she was done and rushed off...while I now had missing patches of skin and still a good amount of powder on my fingers. Next was my pedicure with Susan. She took her time for the most part but things took a turn when she cut me with the cuticle cutters. I didn't feel anything when it happened, but I happened to looked down and saw I was bleeding. Instead of acknowledging to me that she cut me, she picked up the piece of skin and tried to place it back on my toe where she cut it off. I spoke up at that point and she then went to get antiseptic to clean the wound. Once she finished painting my nails and told me I was done, I noticed I had polish all around the skin of my toes that she hadn't clean off. I brought it to her attention and she took care of it. Susan took me to the front to dry my nails and asked if I was ready to pay. I said yes and asked for the total. She said it was a $127 dollars. Reminder - I got a manicure with dip powder and a spa pedicure. I asked for a receipt before I paid because the total didn't make sense. Susan returned with a receipt, which said my total was $85. The fact that Susan lied outright or tried to give herself and Helen a tip without my knowledge is appalling. While my toes were drying, I had to ask the front desk attendant twice if she could send someone over to remove the dip powder from my fingers. She behaved as if I was an inconvenience for wanting my services done properly. A woman, who I believe was the manager, came over with a paper towel and remover to clean up the excess powder. She also acted as if it was an inconvenience and made a half-hearted attempt at cleaning up the mess. I will never go back to this establishment or recommend their services. read more
