I received a gift certificate from this nail salon a few months ago, back in October. During that time, I had been trying to schedule an appointment for a manicure but had not been able to reach anyone in the salon. I decided to leave a voicemail and got a text message shortly after. I asked for an appointment but was told that they were booked up. Completely understandable given the current state of things. I was told by Kay, that they were completely booked for the entire week. Again, understandable. I have a busy schedule and usually don't know when in advance when I'll have free time for myself and so I texted Kay again and asked for any openings for the week. Radio silence. She did not bother to text me back with any options or even an answer. I tired again the next day and realized that Kay had left my message on "read". I found this completely unprofessional. I understand she was understaffed but as a potential new customer, she should've have the courtesy of responding back. Kay, you are not the only nail salon in the area. Matter of fact, there's one right across the street. This unprofessional behavior is what leads to businesses closing down. read more

Best pedicure! She really took the time to shape my nail and get all the yucky stuff under my nail. I've never had someone be so meticulous for a standard pedicure! I have to start with saying that I am not a nail person. The whole process is not my thing. With that being said, I am a nail biter. I don't just bite, I gnaw and get the nails all the way down to the point that there is a sliver of finger nail...if you can even call it that. So as much as I don't love nails, I have to have them so I can not bite. So for the past 20 years I have been going to nail place after nail place but never revisit bc the nails never stay on my little stubs. Until I found Kay!!! I went in with little stubs and she accepted the challenge of putting on acrylics. She didn't even push for no chip like most places. So she did my nails and I left with these super cute pink nails and they stayed on for almost 2 months before I went back for a fill(I told you I hate getting them done). So I went in again and she filed them down to the shortness that I like and wouldn't you know it, they lasted 1.5 months before I went in for another fill!! It's been 2.5 years since I started going to Kay and I am still just as horrible about going in regularly but she accepts me and fills them and I always leave feeling beautiful and put together!! I should also say that if I was a regular person, my nails look good and normal for 2-3 weeks before a fill would be recommended...I just like to push the envelope lol. The building is gorgeous, super affordable and she sends out emails with flash sales, she allows texting for setting appointments and she is probably the sweetest person I've met. Ava Paige Nails is what all other nail salons should strive to be. Kay is so sweet and easy to talk to, plus she is SUPER TALENTED! I rarely get my nails done and I wish I had taken a picture of the mess I had going on when I walked in, but Kay worked her magic and now my hands look human again! And the truly amazing part is that I had only called about ten minutes before to see if they could squeeze me in. I've definitely never seen another salon be so accommodating. It's almost as if they really do value your time and don't want to make you sit around and wait. Kay in particular is pretty busy so I definitely recommend calling first. I just hope that I'll still luck into an opening with Kay next time I forget how to adult and don't just make an appointment ahead of time. I got a no chip ($40) with an added purple chrome finish (+$10) because I was going to a 4 days 3 nights music festival in Ohio (my nails STILL look AWESOME!) First of all, Kay is so sweet, so amazing at what she does and she was so responsive when I emailed her about making an appointment! (I heard back within an hour!) She also accommodated my mom and I so we'd be able to get our pedicures together as it's been a tradition of ours for years now. The salon felt so inviting, fresh, and clean. I absolutely love Kay and the quality of her work. I've been seeing Kay for at least 3 years, possibly longer, and had followed her from her former salon to her own salon Ava Paige. I always get a no chip mani with Kay and my nails last! My nails grow crazy long with the no chip mani's I get from Kay and my nails look perfect from visit to visit. I've been getting my manicures off and on for over 20 years, and been getting pedicures consistently for over 10 years. This place is by far provides the best results I've EVER experienced. Quality: My no-chip manicures last so long that only the length of my nails is what brings me back every 2 weeks, not any issues with the polish! My nails never break and the polish never chips. Additionally, they are trained to apply the no chip properly so that its not too thick and doesn't peel off when it's growing out. The manicure itself (cuticles, shaping, etc) is always meticulously done. The pedicures are perfect as well. They are never too rough on my feet, always take their time, and provide a great foot and leg massage with the basic pedicure. Location: The place is lovely - cutely decorated, kept extremely clean and sanitary and is conveniently located. The pedicure chairs are massage chairs and are very comfortable too! Staff: I have seen Kay, Ly and Balarie for manicure and pedicures. They are all great - I would recommend any of them. I primarily see Kay, who is soooo friendly, professional and talented. Nail Treatments: Kay has done various treatments or designs on my nails from chrome, hombre chrome, to holographic, to hand-painted designs. I've seen her do marble-look and camouflage-look nails too! And I've seen art-deco nails and many more very cool designs on their clients done by the technicians there as well. Yesterday, I brought my Mom there, who has been feeling down ever since moving into an assisted living facility. After reaching out to Kay to see if her staff could fit us in for a needed mother-daughter outing, she didn't hesitate, made it happen last minute, and my mother raved about the experience!! Once we get here the manager proceeds to tell us that they can't do my friends pedicure bc they are too busy. My friend was the first appointment of the day. Honestly really disappointing considering the nail technician was willing to do the pedicure as well because my friends mani didn't use up all of her time allotted but the manager was unwilling to accommodate. I really wanted to like this place but after my experience I won't be returning. I usually get the dip and was going consistently for a few months... Then I got a full set dip and one of my nails cracked within the first day, and then my other nail was lifting after just the second day. I tried to reschedule to come in and get it fixed it was very difficult to get it rescheduled with them. So I went in for a whole new set a few weeks later and after a week the entire nail fell off. Needless to say I won't be returning. If you want just regular nails then maybe they're okay for a quick touch-up but if you want something that's going to last and be worth the money that you're spending I would say to skip this place. The manager of this place is extremely rude. We made an appointment for a mani and pedi for our friend that is getting married. The employee that answered when we called to make the appointment only put us down for the pedi. When we got there, they said they could only do the mani. The person that painted her hands said that they could also paint her feet since it was just paint and it only took her 5 minutes to paint the hands. I've tried 11 locals salons (often with a Groupon) and always have chips or peeling from the cuticle within 8-10 days. My daughter found Ava Paige and raved about it, especially the cleanliness. (She knows that's a huge deal for me.) I decided to give it shot and happened to get the owner for my appointment. My experience was incredibly pleasant, and weeks later, I went back for another manicure because of outgrowth, not chips or peeling! The owner explained that the nail needs to be properly prepped for the polish to really last. Clearly, they are doing their job well! I have now had three manicures, each one lasting almost three weeks. Their prices are not cheap, but it is true that you get what you pay for... and since my time is valuable, they need to make a living too and I've had nothing but stellar service - I've found my new salon. read more
