Excellent auto repair shop I have been going here for the last 32 years. I started going to them when they were on Olympic Boulevard and La Brea they were called J&T auto repair. Ruben and Johnny have done a great job throughout the years they are straight shooters, give you a price and get the job done that's what I like about them,also Ruben's Dad Johnnie is next-door with Eco pure oil and lube so if you need an oil change he's right there. Simon one of the mechanics he's been there for many years also does an excellent job, so if you are in the West LA area by pico and La Brea stop by and let them know what's wrong with your car and they will fix it give you a good price and make sure that you leave happy. My check engine light came on and they diagnosed the problem and were able to perform the repairs on the same day. Great service! My only complaint is that they are not an authorized Ford repair shop and did not check if there were any recalls/FSA for my particular car. There ended up being an extended warranty to the throttle body part that they repaired and the work would have been covered if I had brought it to the dealer. Damn out $320! Ouch! read more

I came to Magic Touch Auto after I bought a used car in November 2016, which had a LOT of problems. Ruben and his crew were awesome! They worked really hard to fix the problem and actually saved me from having to replace the whole transmission. They picked me up and drove me home many times (the car was in the shop for over a week) and also let me use a loaner car when they had one available. For as much work as they had to do, they were very reasonable on the cost, I would have paid MUCH more at another shop. They also worked with me on making payments. I had to bring the car back last month when it needed the coolant system replaced and they were again just the BEST! Plus, they are sooooo nice! "The place looks a bit sketchy (yellow and purple paint?) " Perception is everything because I thought the exact opposite. Of all the auto repair places on La Brea, Magic's yellow and purple building is the only one that is freshly painted and well maintained. All the other places, including the Firestone, look like relicts from the '70s and haven't seen a fresh coat of paint probably since the 70s. Since moving here three years ago I've always been fascinated by what Southern Californians consider to be "sketchy and ghetto". read more

A+++++ service, heres what happened: Towed my Beemer here which was scary cause I have a guy in the valley that usually does everything for me. The guy was extremely friendly and polite and stuff seemed reasonably clean. They looked at my car and told me what the problem was before making me sign anything which made me feel comfortable being there. The price they gave me was fair... I asked my regular mechanic what I should be charged and his quote was spot on. And they got the freshest cars in there too, looks like they work on the classics a lot! These guys are great! I had a strange incident where my new kitten was frantic coming from the Veterinarian and he jumped at me, scratched me then ran under my car through the driver side under the brake and gas pedal. Long story short, I couldn't get the kitten out, he began to crawl all through the front of my car and the staff here were patient and kind enough to help me get this kitten out. They laughed and was shocked to know my situation, but they worked with me as a team and we pulled parts off the car and was able to get him out safely. This place also fixed my spark plugs for a great price versus what Toyota was trying to charge me. Moving forward, I will always go to this place for my car needs! They are great!!!! read more

One time around 6pm we had an issue with our truck and Jhon was on the phone for over an hour with me directing step and by the step all the procedure on how to restart the engine... Brought my car into Magic Touch for the first time and I'm glad I did. The serpentine belt and belt retentioner broke on my 2010 Ford Focus. My car arrived in the morning and was back on the road that evening. Rueben is a nice guy and runs a really good shop. I thought the pricing was fair. Ruben was recommended to me by my coworkers and I am forever grateful because he and his team are amazing! The door to my gas tank wouldn't open and the other mechanic I called stood me up, so I was at a loss and in a total panic. I called Ruben and he said to bring it on by so he could take a look. He fixed it in minutes and didn't charge me for it. His mechanic Simon installed the new headlamp bulbs I'd bought, but couldn't install myself, even though that hadn't been part of our initial conversation. All said, I was in and out in 15 minutes and Ruben only charged me a paltry amount for Simon's time. I trusted Ruben and his team based on my coworkers' experiences, but now I can say from experience that I trust him. The guys here go above and beyond of what is expected.. After a minor accident my new beetle needed a new radiator and front grille. I went around got a few estimates and Magic Touch was the cheapest- by $1,000. They suggested ordering a different grille which eliminated my need of fog lights which saved about $500. They try their hardest to get you the most affordable price. They're also super fast and reliable. My car was finished 2 days after being dropped off. In addition to the engine work they also fixed my radio, and filled up my oil. They won't try and up-sell and don't try to rip you off.
