The first time I visit Magic Touch I wasn't sure if this was the right place. I am very particular about the way I want my hair to be cut and I have visited many barbers and hair salons most of them did an ok job. The first time I met Mon a young man well dress, soft spoken and very polite. I was going to a weeding, I wanted to look sharp! I asked Mon to do a regular cut. From the moment he started, I noticed that we was very detail oriented, but, I was still hesitant of his abilities. He noticed my hesitancy and said "Trust me you will look good" I have never heard a hairstylist said that to me. long story short, Mon did an amazing job, his professionalism and attention to detail were amazing. They don't know about appointment meaning. Today I called them 10:05am, she said come to haircut after 4:00pm. And before I left my home I called again she said you can come anytime. I spent my 40 minutes on freeway. Finally I was there, she had 2 customers, she want to transfer me other barber. I don't want to other barber cut my hair!!! Because it's my second time to visit there. She cut first time good that's why I called that barber twice and waiting whole day. Also she don't know about Services. She didn't look at me, she saw the wrong way and she said I am busy now! These place waste the someone's time and they think it's normal thing!!! Before beginning, I want to say that my post is related to one person and not directed at all the stylists at this location. I've come here before and generally have been happy with the other ladies. So I took my son here today and there's a male stylist that didn't do a good job of cutting my son's hair. To summarize, I asked the stylist to taper my son's hair and to do a small trim to the front. Also, I noted before starting to make sure to spray his hair wet since he had bed hair (i.e some areas where the hair didn't lay down). The only thing he did was spray it once and then proceeded to do a major cut to the area where I asked him to trim lightly (taper & blend). Ultimately, the hair ended up being choppy and inconsistent. When asked why he didn't blend it, his response was that my son's hair is weird and standing up, hence, that's how it's supposed to look. At that point, I got frustrated because this was the entire reason I asked him to wet it since most 8-10 year olds don't spend time to do their hair when they wake up. Also, I've brought my son to get his haircut since he's been 2-3 years old and never had an issue with the result. Ultimately, he said "I won't charge you for this" but I was more upset that I'm now having to spend more time finding somewhere else to have it fixed before the holidays. read more

So, there were 2 stylists inside; one with a customer. I called ahead of time to ask for prices. The lady said $18-$25 depending on what kind of cut you want. When I got there, I told her I wanted layers & she said it'd be $25. I went to use the restroom first. Didn't like the fact that there were no seat covers. There are laundry machines in there too. I came back out and the lady washed my hair. It was a nice massage/hair wash. I showed her this picture and said I wanted long layers. I came here out of pure luck with no appointment. They were able to accommodate a walk-in and their service was excellent. I got a root touch up and some toner. I had a quick discussion of what I wanted, and I'll admit that I was a bit concerned about my request because I don't always get what I asked for. However they delivered! I was beyond satisfied with the service the time it's spent to get the service done and the courtesy of the hairstylist. I was recommended here by a friend a few years ago, I came here a few times for color and once for a haircut. They are located near the front entrance of the Greenhouse Marketplace, it may be easy to miss if you are not looking for it. There is plenty of parking, the easiest place to park is near McDonald's and walk across. I think they are decent, they are cheaper than most of the places that I have been to recently, but you get what you pay for. They are pretty flexible with their appointments, there is always availability when I called. Luckily, she had an opening and I was able to come in on the same day. She's just the sweetest! I decided to make a drastic change and cut my hair short. After speaking with her, I got an A-line bob. i usually don't post bad reviews but i had the WORST experience at this salon.. tina and the manager told me they only had to bleach and tone my hair to get me to the color i wanted in the reference picture, which i agreed to. yet when i told them, this is not the color i asked for/wanted and they argued with me saying that my hair is copper. as u can see, the color is not copper or auburn. i was crying and visibly upset and she continued to be rough with my hair when finishing blow drying my hair.. please do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere!!! read more

Literally this is the FIRST time I would want to go back to the same stylist!!!! I've always wanted to try new salon one after one, but Trang made me want to stick to her for the next time. I paid $165 (without tips) for balayage but the amount of satisfaction and happiness is tremendous!! She was very patient with my hair and she made sure my hair turn out the right Ashy color I was asking for. As you can see in the pictures, before and after is crazy! Additionally, color transition is like "wow", I can see her skill is superb! There's not many hair transformation pictures from Trang on Yelp so I intentionally post my review with pictures to prove why you should ask for Trang for balayage. I will update my review after a few weeks and see how my hair turns out. Most negative reviews were saying their hair was very damaged after styling so I wonder how mine will turn out. I called to make an appointment for peek-a-boo highlights with Trang. The salon is taking all COVID-19 precautions like wearing a face covering mask, hand sanitizer, etc I showed up just before my appointment time and Trang still took me right away. I asked her if she had time for a haircut and she said yes. Trang is very sweet lady and I love how my peek-a-boo highlights turned out. She let's you know what she's doing before she does it. She takes the time to listen to how you want your hair. The prices are very good here. I paid $75 for a haircut and highlights. Usually this would cost me much more. I went in for a haircut around 6pm on LNY eve. I wanted a trim, short and blunt. What I ended up with is a choppy haircut with a section where I still have an inch of hair left uncut and another single strand of hair that was 4 inches long in the back (which I only noticed after I tied my hair back into a ponytail). Tina had cut my hair. I didn't want to get a haircut on LNY and they were closed on Sunday, so I waited till Monday. I called and told someone about the issue and they said to come on in and will fix it. Which was great! When I got there, a male stylist (Mon), fixed my hair. He did take his time but his excuse was that my hair curls a bit so that's why it was uneven. I'm like that doesn't even make sense. First of all, I have straight hair. Second, they straightened my hair with a flat iron before cutting. Third, my hair will not randomly grow an inch because I slept in it/it's dry. So, I didn't comment and just walked out. I will never return to this salon again. No ownership or accountability for their mistakes. Their quality used to be better, not my first visit there. But it's definitely my last. read more

Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience as much as I would've loved to give a good review. I had made an appointment for 3 people as my mom, aunt, & I were getting our hair done for a cut and coloring. You would think that we would all be getting it done at the same time together, but one of us had been left to wait 2+ hours to get serviced because it would "take too long". I hella don't mean to be a Karen, but making an appointment means we'd be getting serviced within 30 mins of our appointment time. I asked twice when I'd be getting my service while I was patiently waiting, and 2 hours later I was still waiting. One of them had told me I'd be going after this one person but other people who had appointment times and walk ins were constantly going before me, which I think is not fair. Also, I was going for a color that would require me to bleach my hair and the hair stylist sounded as if she was discouraging me from getting my hair done after I had said Ive box dyed my hair before when she asked if I had done anything to my hair. I understand there were 3 of us in our party which books a lot of time of the hair stylists', but at least let us know if we need to book separate times during the day to respect our appointment times instead of giving us the green light to come in all together. read more

Not only did the service charge go up $5, but the experience was horrible. Definitely on the top 5 Worst Experiences list for underarm waxing. First off, the room they typically use for waxing, was already occupied. But the lady insisted I go in there anyway and sit down on a chair. This made for an uncomfortable experience for two reasons: someone else was trying to get a facial, 2 feet from me, and also, I'm getting underarm waxing sitting upright in a chair. Needless to say, things got a little hairy (ha) when the person getting a facial had her service stopped and she didn't understand why the room was suddenly crowded and her beautician went MIA. But then beef of the issue is this:: The lady who serviced me clearly doesn't know how to use wax. While the first application was fine, the deeper in the wax she got, the hotter it became. By the time she did the right side, the wax had become damn hot, and while I can't gauge exactly how messed it was getting at the time, the visual aftermath is pretty clear, also, you can't continually reapply hot wax to the same spot because it gets increasingly sensitive. End result? My man said my armpit looks like an infected v*g. WONDERFUL. -- photo posted Oh, and she got wax everywhere on top of everything else. She dripped a huge glob on my white shirt so now there's a yellowy-brownish spot on the armpit of my white shirt. THANK YOU. Then she tried to charge me $25. WHAT??? This place is a hidden gem. I ditched my fancy hair salon that gave me champagne, wine and coffe because I could care less about that. My hair dresser just kept getting more and more expensive and one day she left me with bleach on my hair to pick up food. My hair was partially damaged and it has taken months and months of treatments to bring it back to life. My girl Amy at Magic Touch desserves all the credit. I don' want to post picture of myself but I love my hair right now. She gently gave me some beautiful red highlights without bleach, cuts and regularly touches up my hair with love, care and SKILLS. They use good quality products yet don't charge an arm and a leg. I am so happy with this place. It is a no frills shop, nothing fancy at all, you are not going to get coffee or tea, but what you get is expertise. Please do yourself a favor and check this place out. Update - this is a late review. So previously they made my hair black instead of dark brown. I went back after months had passed so that way they could fix my hair. They said that they couldn't do anything since my hair was black. Oh joy. They finally admitted that it was BLACK and not dark brown like I had previously requested. They suggested getting babylights to help fix it. I said sure. Well.. It was awful! My whole head was ORANGE!!! I shouldn't have given them another chance. Every time I give them the benefit of the doubt, they always screw up. I ended up leaving again - out almost $200 just for them to screw up my hair. I had to go to another salon to have it fixed. I only came here bc I wanted to even out my layers but I emphasized MULTIPLE TIMES that I want to keep the length of my hair. Leaving the salon I knew it was short but coming home looking in the mirror and comparing to previous pictures of my hair. ITS HALF GONE. I reminded her so many times to keep it long.
