Cool brew spot to hang out. Great selection of beers. And there's a pizza place right around the corner that you can order from. Dogs are allowed even inside *if* they are well behaved (not dragging you around on the leash, not barking, obviously not aggressive). So be honest with yourself about your dog's behavior in public. The staff is friendly and there's a large projector screen to watch games and other big events. There's also a covered outdoor patio but I didn't go out there since it was too cold (yes, in FL lol). Each and every weekend we venture out to find some of the best breweries in Central Florida. Our 1st stop was Wulfaven. Great 1st stop. FYI they do not have a kitchen, but normally there is a food truck parked outside. We went to Hector's NY Pizza in the Nextdoor plaza. Great choice, by the slice or full speciality. This is a fun place to relax and have a drink. They're have a lot of boardgames, and a ton of TVs for watching sports. We took some out of town friends here before dropping them off at the airport. The Basics: Wulfaven is a family owned and operated brewery in Carrollwood on Gunn Hwy between Anderson and Dale Mabry. Designed by a veteran brewhouse engineer, Wulfaven has a full menu of all different styles of beer. While the head brewer specializes in crisp and clean lagers, they also brew IPAs, as well as some unusual styles you don't see very often (such as Baltic porters, German dunkels, and Italian pilsners). Things I like: The beer! I cannot emphasize enough the quality of the beer. It's common for breweries to have several styles of beer, but it is remarkable to have this much variety and for every beer to be this good. Wulfaven has a great family-friendly space (both indoors and patio), cornhole available outside, food trucks most days, and large TVs to watch all kinds of sports. The head brewer is very approachable and friendly, and he hosts "Mash to Glass" events monthly to take visitors on a technical deep dive tour of his latest beer. They also host a trivia night a couple times a month. The staff is very friendly, the bathrooms are clean, and they have wifi if you need to get some work done. Things I didn't like: The parking lot is small and fills up quickly, but there is a grass lot next door with plenty of space. I've never had trouble finding parking, even on the busiest days. If you want to know how skilled a brewery is at crafting beer: ask them about their lagers. These types of beer require more thoughtful care than ales (the other type of beer, all beer is either an ale or a lager). Odds are, if a brewery can do right by them, they are going to make everything well. Wulfaven is a prime example of this! Nearly half the taps are lagers of various types: Pilsners, Cold IPA, Fest Bier, Czech Dark lager, etc! Their Cold IPA is easily my favorite, but I'm very biased because those are the types of beers I like to make myself. One tweak I would make if I were a brewer here, I I'd put much bigger dry hop charges in the hoppy lagers and tone done the bitterness a little bit. That's just my personal taste though, many people will disagree with me, and that's OK! read more

first time here! good beer selection. place was clean and spacious. you can bring your dog on the outside patio. you can bring your own food in or have it delivered there. They also have a food truck out front. when we were there it was A Boy Named Sous Trivia nights you can have a team up to 7 people. each beer you purchase after 7pm when trivia starts is counted towards your points. up to 7 beer limit. clearly there is a theme.. lol fun night! especially since we won Show Me Your Kitties Good Vibes. nice staff! read more

This is my third visit. This is the closest brewery to my house. I want so badly to love this place. The family that owns this place is amazing and we love them. I just wish they had taken this beautiful building and made it a little more warm and inviting. It is big and industrial feeling. This translates to me not wanting to be here very long and maybe not spend much money. I hope they see this review and up the experience of this beautiful building. read more

Here's the deal. I've been a couple times, because it was super close to me, and I wanted to really like it. Carrollwood/Citrus Park area really needs a good, local craft brewery that's got a similar space like this. However, it's just not very good. The service was good. The space is huge, and there's a ton of seating and tables. It's a great space for large get-togethers. They have a good rotation of food trucks. But let's get to the real reason for the 2. The beer just isn't good. I've tried a couple things, and my friends have tried several. I've found that it's weak or not flavorful. The one time that something had a lot of flavor, it was a guest seltzer and was sickeningly sweet. If this is all you have and you don't feel like driving further, you can try it out. But it's not for people who enjoy quality craft beer. Maybe I'll try them again once they've really got their footing and are more practiced, but until then, I'll keep going to my staple breweries. read more

We love everything about Wulfaven except for the additional surcharge for using a credit card. The whole world has darn near gone to a cashless system of payment but not at Wulfaven where you need to pay with cash to avoid the surcharge penalty. It's not appreciated to say the least. New brewery and tasting room located in the Carrolwood area of Tampa. It's a very large tasting room with an outdoor area as well as space to do their brewing. Great service at the bar, very friendly staff. They did have a food truck on a Saturday night called A boy named Sous. I didn't have any food on this trip though. I did have the 1 Hundo haze with centennial and citra hops. It was very tasty, true to the style. They had 12 of their own beers on tap which is great for a new brewery. Wulfhaven is a true family business from the Lazzara family. Great local place for excellent beers. I will definitely return. They have trivia on Wednesdays and live music on Thursdays according to their website. A full calendar of events is available on their website as well. Really great spot and brewery in the Tampa area! My husband and I have been meaning to come here for some time. Plenty of parking, as well as both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is wide open with large ceilings--plenty of places to sit at tables or on chairs/couches with views of the brewing equipment and outside patio. Service was super friendly and prompt. They have a variety of beers ranging from lagers to pilsners to IPAs (hazy and double). We enjoyed the Leaning Tower of Pilsner and It's All in the Hips (hazy IPA). Both beers were excellent. The selection of beers and ciders were great. Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy but the service did not suffer. They had a food truck on premise and I saw several patrons getting food, I did not purchase any food so I cannot comment on quality. I did see a lot of people getting food and eating every last bite so that is a positive. Anyway, great place to have some local brews. Had a good time at Wulfaven on a Friday night. Got there around 9. Place was dead! Probably 4 other people there. It was also huge! Big, spacious and open indoor bar with outdoor patio as well. 2 TVs at main bar. I was surprised that they had SO MANY beers on tap (probably close to 20?). Being October, we started with the marzen. Great dark color and served properly in a dimpled mug. Very good, as it wasn't too sweet on the backend. We stuck with the theme and went for the festbier next. Also great. Crisp. Refreshing. The best part was the entertainment from the two bartenders. You could tell they were a bit bored with how few people were there, so they became the entertainment! We all had some funny conversations, talked about funny beer names, and listened/danced/sang to cringe 90's/00's music (as they cleaned and prepped for close). read more

I went here with some friends over the weekend. It's nice to have this nice, big brewery in the Carrollwood area. This is a great place to meet up with friends for a game or to just chill. Huge interior space and great exterior space as well. We had a 2 yr old with us, so we really appreciated that the patio being fenced in. My friends all loved their beers. I had a seltzer which was very good. There is a food truck here with burgers and tacos. We ordered a 28" pizza from the place next door (walkable). It looked completely ridiculous and we have been eating pizza for days now. Lol. Be back soon! read more

I love this brewery. I don't have no bad thing to say about it. I live quite a bit away, but when I am in this area I hit this spot up all the time. I see that there are people calling out the beer. I am sorry I think that it is amazing. The food should not even count on their reviews. The food truck itself should be graded. Also, I don't feel like this place is an industrial building. I love the space and the vibe you are getting is because you are in a brewery so yeah there's brewery tanks etc. I think its great guys keep up the good work. read more

We stopped in for a beer and to try this place out. We sampled several and settled on Tracker Pull, Carrollwood's Most Wanted and a Julius Pllsner. All were delicious! The place was new and clean, nice atmosphere with an outside patio. I did see patrons with pets outside. They do not serve food but bartender said they typically have pretzels and a food truck comes about 5pm. Nice little spot to grab a beer or two :) read more

We've been here every weekend since they opened. We, like much of Carrollwood, are super excited to have a new brewery in the area. The beer selection has been varied, and everything we've tried has been great. Only one suggestion...try to bus and wipe the tables more often or provide a station so we can wipe them ourselves. I went to Wulfaven on opening day in October 2022, because I love draft beer and it is near my home. It is now May and I still love the place. Wulfaven is owned and ran by the Lazarra family. The brewery is very much a state of the arts creation by Santos, the father. Using this brewery his son Joseph is able tocreate a variety of really delicious beers. Both father and son have been arount the block when it comes to beer. If you like beer you need to visit Wulfaven, and get to know their family and their beers. If they do not have your favorite beer, they have just not yet brewed it. Chances are you will be served by Josephs wife Veronica, or his sister Francheska (Frankie).
