Oh my! We came here with friends after a night at the casino. This had the best breakfast reviews in Durant and we had high hopes. Inside is a quaint diner type restaurant. They were busy for a Sunday morning but the service was spot on!!! I had the chicken fried steak and eggs that was scrumptious! Every cooked just as I would want and oh boy that CFS was so good! My wife had the cinnamon swirl French toast and loved it. Our friends had the Mexican skillet , which she said was excellent. Even the basic sausage and eggs plate was perfect! Excellent choice for breakfast!

My beauty decided to go to Choctaw for a get-away (we don't gamble) and we slept in at the hotel across the highway and missed the free breakfast. She found the Magnolia on Yelp and wanted to go. They didn't disappoint. Old town feel driving in, reminded me of my home town growing up. Great people, great food. Sometimes, we just need to settle down and relax. You can here. We loved it and will go back the next time we stay over.

Mother's Day, we knew what to expect. Every restaurant in America would be packed. The strategy for eating at Magnolia Café, get there early, before church lets out in the small town of Durant. This strategy was flawed. Every family took mom out for breakfast. The parking lot was overflowing. Little hopes of getting in quickly, but willing to deal with the wait. Surprise, Magnolia Café had a couple of booths open. The restaurant was prepared, staffed, organized for the event. The varsity team waitstaff. "They were on their A-game!" There were several specials. The waitress suggested the Chicken Fried Chicken. Sold! Make it two, with green beans and mashed. A side salad for me with Thousand Island. There was almost as much dressing as there was salad. No slackers in the kitchen either. The restaurant was packed, yet our food arrived in minutes. The food is magnificent, small-town diner excellent. The service attentive and friendly. These folks know how to run a restaurant.

We were looking for a restaurant that wasn't a chain; home cooking in this part of the country is great, and this place has it. I grew up in Oklahoma, didn't know that Durant was the Magnolia capital. Had actually never been to Durant before. This place has liver and onions! How often do you find that these days. The decor was fun - magnolia theme of course. Service was good, and so was the food.

Every time I come to visit family I love coming here to eat! I love the decorations and atmosphere and I love how amazing the staff are. I feel like family going in and really enjoy the overall experience. I ate the 2 eggs with hash browns and bacon, my parents ate the 2 eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and French toast. Everything was delicious and they even had flavored creamer to enjoy my coffee with. Only thing I will say is their hashbrowns do need a little salt but that's just my preference. I ended up eating everything without taking a photo but next time I go in I will! One of my favorite places to go in Durant! read more

My mom and I were craving a good salad and they have a Crispy Chicken Cobb that was awesome! The servers were super nice, the cafe and the restrooms were very clean. The only thing I would change is the chicken on the salad. While tasty it was pounded pretty thin and overcooked. Either leave it a little thicker or take care not to overcook it. Other than that small detail we enjoyed ourselves and will be back! read more

This cafe is good for good ole American food. They have all the staples like biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, and they offer breakfast and lunch/dinner. The food isn't the most tasty unfortunately, my last experience with the steak was not enjoyable. It seemed that they pulled the steak from the back of the freezer after a few months and then cooked it past any red or pink. Overall, a simple country food joint with an all American ambience. read more

Good food and good service! We were in town for one night and stoped here for breakfast. Party of 9 and we were seated right away. Our server was nice and came back to check on us often. Am not sure if it was the owner but he was greeting people at their table and asking how everything was. They show they care about their customers! I would go back! This is a new cafe, they just opened Monday 8/6/18. We had Ashley as our server, she was so pleasant, smile on her face and had the attitude to match. I have Celiac and cannot have even a trace of gluten. She went out of her way to say she would have the cook clean the grill. She did say they have one side that gluten products do not come in contact with but she would have them clean it anyway. I spoke with one of the owners wished them well as they are off to a great start. If you are in Durant, Oklahoma I highly recommend you stop by and try them for yourself. read more

Fish was wet and undercooked, mashed potatoes were cold and dry. Beans had a perfumy taste. My husband's tomato soup was as flavorless as the sole of my shoe. The buttered toast was almost the best part of our visit. Wait staff wasn't rude but definitely wasn't super helpful when asking about the menu. read more

Have been going here for the past few months. Only had one off day and it wasn't worth dropping a star. Food is good, may not be the best ever but the waitresses and host make it worth it everytime I go. I always request for Nikki, she is on it. Owner may want pay her whatever she wants. I usally get the Pancake Breakfast with Eggs and Bacon. No complaints and is yummy. In Durant, I've been to many breakfast and this is the best. read more

We stopped at Magnolia Cafe on our way back to Texas from Arkansas and were very pleasantly surprised. The service was incredibly friendly, and the food was great! We had the pancakes, cinnamon swirl French toast, and the biscuits and gravy. Everything was fabulous! This will now be our go to place when driving through Durant! read more

Honestly one of the best breakfast places I've ever been. Any time we are in the area (i.e. Choctaw), we make it a point to come. Great cafe. Western motif serves the location well. We were greeted immediately and seated where Nikki brought us coffee first thing. Nikki was polite, personable, and attentive during our breakfast. The food was hot, delicious and reasonably priced. What more would anyone want? My wife and will return to this little gem on our next trip to Durant. read more

We had never eaten here before, but saw it on Yelp and decided to try it. I am glad we did, because the food was great and the service was even better. Our waitress had great customer service skills...she was eager to please, friendly, and fast. I had the chicken fried chicken, real mashed potatoes, fresh salad with ranch, beans, and tasty garlic toast. This was a great choice. I also got a slice of the berry cheesecake to go...wow was that awesome. I would highly suggest this place. I know I will be back!!! Oh and they passed my Yelp Integrity test...I left my cell phone on the table and the waitress found it and kept it secure for me until I could go get it. I'm so glad we found this place on yelp. While visiting the casino, we wanted to escape and find real food. Their high rating is well deserved. Friendly, attentive service and incredible food. Best chicken fried chicken we've ever had. Salads are huge and incredible, and they either use the highest quality dressings or they're made from scratch. I'm thinking the latter for sure. We loved it so much, we ate here two days in a row. Their breakfast is the best in town, too. Oh, and delicious pie! read more

Established in 2018.

We are a local, family owned and operated restaurant with over 40 years and three generations of leadership in the business. We opened our first restaurant in Texoma right down the road at the Mead Cafe, and decided to open up a second location here in downtown Durant, the City of Magnolias! We specialize in serving classic home cooking with friendly service in a welcoming atmosphere! Come by and see us... and tell us yelp sent you! :)

Meet the Business Owner: Sal M.

Two brothers Sal and Afrim, with a passion for food and hospitality bring a premier family dining destination to the City of Durant! You'll always find one of these two, if not both, at the restaurant at any given time, say hi! After growing up in the restaurant business, and studying hospitality in college the two brothers decided to turn their dream of restaurant ownership into reality. In 2018 they purchased the 'old braum's' on 1st ST. and the rest is history!

Mom and Pop type place, very friendly staff, prices were in line with local prices.I enjoyed the food so much it was hard to get up from the table. They sell pies and cakes.
