I've been to several acupuncturist in the 626 area and Dr. Lin is by far the best one that I've encountered. He's very precise with the treatments and targets the appropriate meridians based on my conditions. Dr. Lin is an amazing, insightful and caring doctor. I have been seeing him for a little less then an year and he has helped me with stress (I have a stressful job) and injuries from working out. This place is amazing every time I come here. Getting an appointment is incredibly easy. Front desk staff (Lety!) is kind, competent, and always gets me my exact time and date preferences without issues. Upon entering the building, you get a parking ticket which can be validated by front desk staff. The office is located on the second floor, and the acupuncture rooms and waiting area are clean and modern. They offer delicious ginger chewy candies at the front desk, but I barely get through a few quick chews before I am called in by Dr. Lin (the main acupuncturist). Then I am awkwardly chewing my candy during his assessment and that candy is darn chewy (but so delicious). I have since learned to pocket the candies for later enjoyment. But let's get back to more relevant topics. Typically Dr. Lin will do a quick check, and either the masseuse will start the massage therapy first, or he will do the needle part first. Each part takes about 30-45 minutes. Needle part: I hate needles. I hate them very much. In fact, every year when I get my flu immunization shot, I always request the "butterfly needle", which is a special, thinner, and more expensive needle they hide in a back cabinet for the children and cowards. But these acupuncture needles are soooo thin. I feel like there are an average of 15-20 needles I get each time. You can't really feel them going in 'cuz they are literally hair thin, but I will say that Dr. Lin will insert the needle (painless) and then he does a slight twist of the needle which leads to a pinching, tingling, or sore feeling that dissipates in seconds. Then you lay there in the dark for roughly 30 minutes while the needles "take effect". During this time I engage in some light sleep and perhaps an REM cycle depending on the time of day and what I have consumed for lunch. I will also note that they play a sort of Baroquian type classical music through the speakerphones that range from light and happy to deep and slightly panicky. They always end on a good note though, as these sonatas tend to go. Massage part: During this time one of Dr. Lin's massage therapists will change your life in a swift half hour (though I think you may schedule for up to one hour!). Currently in rotation are three amazing therapists. - Lisa is a popular choice. She is sweet and lively and happy to converse if you are. She also has metacarpals made of titanium carbide. Lisa provides more of a comprehensive full body massage regardless of ailment, and is nimble and intense with her movements. Is that an elbow in your shoulder blade and a kneecap in the side of your glute? Perhaps. - Jolene is wonderful. She is kind and quiet and meticulous. Jolene will focus more on problem areas, and uses quick, short, and powerful thumb strokes to work out any stress or pain points. - I have the least experience with Sherrie, but she would be a great choice if it is your first time, as her therapy is relaxed and less intense than the others, making for a good introduction into acupressure massage. Appointments end with a cup of hot tea or water, and sometimes herbal supplements to-go. Tip when you can, there are envelopes for the ladies! I'll be back. read more

I am new to the Acupuncture world, but once I was told I getting Arthritis in many areas of my body and for being just minor the pain was very uncomfortable and too often. So I decided to give this a try to avoid unnecessary drugs. I notice a change from first appointment, I haven't taken as many pills and pain seems to stay away longer. I plan to continue my sessions to get full control. Dr Lin was great and explained everything upfront about the pins and pressure points and how things work. Very relaxing atmosphere and very nice receptionist. I recommend at least trying because you never know. You can't go wrong with Dr Lin. read more

I have been suffering from sciatica for 10 years. I've had every form of medication, physical therapy, and injections given to my lower back with no relief. Prior to acupuncture I had finally decided to give up, and go through with surgery even though I really did not want to. Still being hesitant about surgery, I started searching the internet looking for more natural approaches for pain management. I read that acupuncture helps with many things including pain management. I was referred to Dr. Lin by a satisfied customer who had been treated for menopausal symptoms. During my first visit Dr. Lin was attentive and noted the reasons for my visit - hot flashes being the number 1 issue followed by my painful knees. By the second visit, my hot flashes had lessened in the number ( I was averaging 12-15 a day and am down to 6-8 a day...it may not sound like a lot but trust me...this is a significant difference!) My knees felt better almost immediately after the first visit. I walk over 30 minutes a day so the improvement in my knees is much appreciated. Once I found out about adding a 30 minute massage of the meridians/areas that are being treated by Dr. Lin's acupuncture treatment only cost $15, I had massages for my subsequent visits. Lisa, massage therapist, is amazing. I'd highly recommend her. Dr. Lin continues to note any and all changes with my symptoms and health and make adjustments on subsequent visits. For a total of $85, this is an amazing price for over an hour of treatments. I have other areas on my body that need healing so I'll likely continue to see Dr. Lin as we work through these various issues.
