Absolutely amazing experience with Dr. Hee. The staff is wonderful, and the experience is even better. Over a year ago, I was struggling with uterine fibroids and was unable to conceive. I do not recommend coming here. I spent lots of money and none of the sessions ever fixed anything. I actually made symptoms worse. This is not traditional Chinese acupuncture btw, it is Korean 4 needle. The doctor js not a good listener and empathic to the condition you have. Also if you are given herbs they do not tell you what you are taking and get defensive about you asking. You have a right to know what you are putting in your body, especially to know if other things you are taking may interact with them. I've been coming to Kyung Hee Acupuncture and Herbs for about a month now and have seen an improvement towards my overall quality of life. The doctor is very sweet and has great energy. They do there best to make you feel comfortable and at home. My treatment involves both acupuncture and herbs. I think both, in conjunction with another, have helped my body. I don't have a particular area of my body which is of concern, rather my whole body has been not feeling well for a long time (overheating, constipation, etc.). Time does really fly, and I can't believe I've been coming and receiving treatment from Dr. Kim since 2019. That's 4 years of knowing him and his staff especially Catherine. As I recall and had posted, I've originally came here through a recommendation by a friend due to my sciatica. Now, it's a personal choice to continue receiving my monthly acupuncture in order to avoid furthering any possible pain that may occur. There are some other appointment times where I do both acupuncture and cupping. Oh boy, that cupping feels amazing after a session. I prefer it more than a massage. Where do I even start?! Too many good things to say about Dr. Kim and Katherine. Dr. Kim is very knowledgeable and works wonders. I sprained my ankle from walking down a step and I had a high platform on which didn't help. I definitely noticed a huge change from my first treatment. I went in with crutches and came out without crutches after my first treatment. 2nd, 3rd treatments after, I was able to walk more on my feet. This was within a week and a half. I went consistently for 2 weeks and maybe once more on my 3rd week. Going into the 6th week, pain is gone and the discomfort is slightly still there, however I know it takes time to heal. I may need to go back for one more treatment. I'm just glad I can walk and do my daily activities. If you expect your ankle sprain to heal within a week or two and complain about why it's not healing, just go find yourself a genie. Sprains take time to heal; weeks to months. I fell and shattered my right arm radius; after surgery, my arm felt stiff and swollen. To help with my recovery, I thought it would be a good idea not only to do PT but also to do acupuncture. My mother in law Carmen had a stoke about 5 weeks ago. I found this place on yelp and definitely has helped my mother in law so much. I love love love Dr. Kim. I first started going for sciatica that was not relieved by the physicians were prescribing. After the first session the pain was gone for about 3 hours then started coming back. He says it would take several sessions to great it completely. Miracle worker. Healing Connoisseur. Pain Expert. What other synonyms can be used to describe the acupuncture work of Dr Kim? All I know is that one HIIT session (lifting weights far too heavy for me) left me in a world of lower back pain for 1.5 months that was only exacerbated by long commute, desk-ridden job, and carrying an overweight baby. I sought relief from this debilitating pain via professional massage, epsom salt bath, gentle yoga, which were all temporary solutions to my ongoing pain. I never knew what chronic pain was until this experience, and I was intent on going to go to the best. The practitioner here (Dr. Kim) was very arrogant. Didn't listen to a single thing I tried to explain to him about my condition (i was having severe leaky gut in the small intestines which was causing both pain and severe neurological symptoms every time I ate or drank any food). After his first batch of herbs made me feel worse, I tried to go back and see if we can figure out what to do next, instead he said he'll give me a refund for the herbs and point blank told me he couldn't treat me because I was questioning his abilities. Instead of actually listening, he became extremely defensive and told me he "was doing this for 40 years." He even tried to tell me that my symptoms were "in my head" that i was over-thinking. Sorry but this is not how a proper healer works. No critical thinking, no compassion, no listening to the patient, just over-inflated ego and arrogance when he feels challenged. No matter how much experience a healer has, they should always remain humble enough to listen, to learn new things, and be flexible. After this horrible experience I connected with a Naturopath who helped me find the proper herbs to boil down and drink as teas which have completely healed my gut in a couple of weeks. This is a long overdue review. Dr. Kim is truly a miracle worker. I originally came for acupuncture at the recommendation of my coworker after dealing with tendonitis in my thumb for over a year. I tried physical therapy and a brace to alleviate the discomfort, but nothing seemed to work. I couldn't believe my tendonitis was completely gone after 3 treatments with Dr. Kim. I have returned to Dr. Kim over the years for lower back pain that I've dealt with off and on. On occasion I will experience pain and discomfort that prevents me from working out. Dr. Kim is a magician. Awhile back I have been going in for shoulder pain (mostly rotator cuff issues) and he has helped alleviate pain as well as increase the movement of my shoulder. Also for the past year, I have been using topical steroids for my acne but could never get it under control. I did not know that Dr. Kim had a treatment for acne and it was not a short term masking, but a long term goal to get rid of my stubborn acne. He let me know to stop the steroids and put me on an herbal regimen that has made my skin feel much better(no irritation compared to steroids) and stopped my stubborn cystic acne from showing up. I still have to be on this regimen for a few more weeks but the time of this treatment is way shorter and cheaper than my dermatologist treatment and it attacks the root of the issue underneath the skin, not just masking the surface Thank you Dr. Kim! read more

I'm writing this review because I am inexpressibly grateful to Dr. Kim for being the only one who actually solved my health issues. If I could give 6 stars, I would still look for a way to give 7. About a year ago, I began having sudden and drastic issues with my digestive system. It was unprecedented and quite shocking, and it came to a point where I was often nervous about eating because I did not know how (or if) the food would go down. I'll kindly spare you the details. In any case, over that span of time, I went to my PCP multiple times and even sought out a renowned GI specialist, both of whom said, "It seems okay. Just keep eating fiber and exercising regularly." After all, on the surface, I'm very healthy with great blood test results, overall diet, fitness level, etc. But of course, I felt anything but "okay." So I tried to take matters into my own hands. After doing some research, it seemed like what I was suffering from was "leaky gut" or "intestinal permeability," and apparently, a necessary measure is to cut out gluten from your diet. So I went gluten-free, which I had never ever imagined myself doing. The gluten-free diet at first seemed to alleviate some things, but eventually, things were just as bad as ever. Frustrated, I sought out a functional MD who specialized in holistic medicine, and this doctor ran extensive tests and diagnosed me for a mild case of SIBO. Being a mild case, just a month of a strict SIBO diet (also called a low FODMAP diet) would allow my body to heal itself. If you thought gluten-free was bad, the SIBO diet is on a whole different level. Let's just say that out of every possible basic foods in existence, there were more things that I could NOT eat than what I could eat. Nevertheless, I was determined so I embarked on the diet very seriously. But you know what's funny? My problems got worse. Not only was the diet ineffective, it actually made my body double down on its issues. After two weeks of that diet, I was feeling worse than before I began it. Not gonna lie, I was pretty miserable. Out of frustration and desperation, I turned to my last resort, of which I had been skeptical my entire life: acupuncture/herbs. I went on yelp and found Kyung Hee Acupuncture, read through all the reviews, and thought it was worth giving a shot. I mean, I was already feeling horrible, so what more could I lose? During my initial consultation with Dr. Kim, I explained everything above, and he asked me a few follow-up questions. And then, he just said, "Ok, this is what's wrong with you." Do you know how comforting it was to actually hear that? Someone actually could tell me why in the world my body was suffering like this. And then he said, "Oh, don't worry. I'm going to treat you. It's very simple." Again, I finally heard some hope. But did it actually work? Let me fast forward and put it like this: less than two weeks into his weekly treatment, my digestive system went back to normal. I ate gluten every single day, and I still do. I am not doing any sort of particular diet whatsoever. And now, as of this writing, I just went to my sixth week with Dr. Kim because he's treating me on a variety of different functional issues my body has had over the past several years--little annoying issues that always bugged me that I thought I would just have to live with. In short, I came in for digestive issues, and now he's treating me for everything head to toe! I genuinely feel healthier every single time I see him. This was a long review, but I really wanted to give a personal anecdote to add to the plethora of testimonies that you can find in the other reviews. Dr. Kim really wants to help, and he truly succeeds in doing so. In fact, I started having my wife see him as well, and her health has been drastically improving just within the last few weeks of seeing him. I injured my lower left back while working out about 3 weeks ago and was literally miserable since. Every single time I took a step on my left foot, I felt pain in my lower left backside. I tried everything to make it go away - stretching, massages, bed rest, complete exercise ban - none of it helped. I was literally poppin Advils like tic tacs and hobbling around everywhere because I was in so much pain. At the insistence of my mom, I booked an appointment here and came in to see Dr. Kim. He listened to what had happened and told me it was likely a muscle sprain with inflammation that I had made worse by using Icy Hot patches and hot packs (whoops lol). For the acupuncture, I was taken into a room, laid on my side, and he did his thing and poked me to pieces. I also got the electric stimulation for 20 minutes (this was the only painful part). I got up, and lo and behold, I was still in the same amount of pain that I was before. Disappointed but not surprised, I paid and hobbled my ass back home. I woke up the next day and ...... ??? it felt.......better???? I still had some residual pain but it was nowhere near as intense as before. I went in for a second session 3 days later, and walked out of the building with almost no pain at all. I still feel a little pinch here and there if I step or bend a certain way, but it's honestly nothing short of a damn miracle in my mind. Dr. Kim is really funny and made each session easy and relatively painless. He is super blunt and is a no-frills, no sugar-coating it kinda man so if you're offended easily or have a vanilla ass sense of humor, you may want to prepare yourself for that lol. I've had mild back and shoulder pain since 2005 (12 years) due to a bad car accident. When my environment is cold, stressful, or strenuous, my muscles will stiffen up and hurt a lot. I've been to chiropractors, physical therapy, and normal doctors and for YEARS (since I was 17) they would usually hand me pain pills and muscle relaxers. I recently had an episode where my neck, shoulder and upper back was stiff and I experienced a lot of pain so to avoid the pain-pushing physicians, I decided to try traditional eastern medicine and found Dr. Kyung. I had two acupuncture sessions which entailed herbal pills for increased blood circulation, acupuncture (it doesn't hurt), electrotherapy or whatever it's called, and some herbal cream for muscle pain. Two sessions was enough to get me feeling back to normal and honestly it's the best Doctors visit I've had in a LOOOONG time. Personally I don't agree with doctors pushing pills so after reading about this crazy opioid crisis, I decided I'm going to seek natural remedies.
