In no way shape or form has it been FINE. Since the ongoing procedures At Filutowski nothing worked. I left my initial review after I got referred to Dr.Frank Barnes and that was a nightmare after the surgery he put me through and now I see a retina eye specialist in Ormond Beach who I have seen at least 6 times and we are still watching my left eye. I would not go back to Barnes and he has since left the practice. It all began with Filutowski and not only did Sebastian Filutowski threaten me over my review as to charging me with defamation of character but when I told him to check with the nurse his response was "she's not going to remember that" so hateful and I responded well I'm not lying and I'm sure it's in the notes!!!! I also keep getting messages that I need to come back in after seeing all the specialists?! Unbelievable! NO! They damaged my eyesight or Mr.Barnes wouldn't have done surgery which traumatized me. This has been going on for years at this point.

This was the greatest possible experience I could ever have. Both eyes came out 20-20, across all distances from 16" to infinity, with zero astigmatism. They started out about -3.5D nearsighted and up to 1.5D astigmatism. Absolutely awesome experience. I am a PITA about surgery. I research and question everything. Its sometimes hard for doctors to put up with me and my questions. Dr. Shumski not only did great work, but was gracious about my questions and called me 3 times to answer questions. I also got several email answers. I received full documentation about the surgery and all questions/concerns were answered. His staff and associates were also wonderful. From the receptionist to techs to ophthalmologist who reviewed my post-surgery progress. I cannot be more happy about the entire experience.

My insurance should have been better verified so that I did not spend nearly a $1000 for a procedure that should have cost less than $250. When I returned for the second eye, they were going to charge me again until I explained that I had already overpaid with the first eye. They then applied the overcharge to the second eye. I am still waiting for the remainder to get refunded. My first surgery was April 2, 2026. My second was April 30, 2026. It's now June 17th and it may still be another month before I get the overpayment back.
