Life Changing. If you're hesitant about LASIK, read this first. I've worn glasses and contacts for over 36 years and now in my 40's I have 20/15 vision! I'd considered getting LASIK for years but instead of making an appointment to get more info, I'd do the usual and make an annual appointment at my eye doctor usually spending around $1000 for new glasses and contacts that would last until my next appointment. Not this year...I received my annual eye exam reminder and knew that if I didn't do it now I never would. I set up a zoom appointment to learn more about Lasik vision correction and I'm so glad I did. It's been an awesome experience every step of the way! The staff member answered all of my questions and set me up with an in person appointment to determine if I was a candidate. At my in person appointment Judy was great at explaining everything. She took pictures, measurements, and checked my vision. Then the doctor examined my eyes and reviewed the results of the tests and determined that I was a candidate for lasik. Yay!!! The front office staff explained everything and got me set up for my surgery and follow up appointments for the next week. I actually had the option to have my surgery that day but my husband wasn't able to drive me home afterwards. The day of surgery, they rechecked my vision, had me sign off on paperwork, and then it was time! The surgery itself isn't long. I was taken back to what I'll call the "zen" room. It was dark with a comfy chair. I had to put on a hair cover and wipe my eyelids off with a wipe they provided to me. I closed my eyes and relaxed for a few minutes then they called me into the surgery room. They checked my eyes again, asked again what I was having done, and had me lay down on the chair. They placed a pillow under my knees and made sure I was comfortable. The staff explained everything they were doing as it was happening and made me incredibly relaxed during the process. The doctor also let me know everything that was happening during the actual LASIK procedure. It was a very quick process and I focused on my breathing and staying relaxed. There was no pain. I think the hardest part was knowing that my eyes were being held open. I wanted to blink, lol. As I saw the red and green lights I could tell my vision was immediately improved. Each eye took less than a minute start to finish and as the staff helped me sit up, I was in shock that I could see without contacts or glasses. It was a bit blurry but I could see without using either. The doctor checked my eyes and explained the next steps. As my husband helped me into the car I started crying. Yes, they were ugly tears. Not because I was in pain but because I realized how life changing this is. It was the first time I saw the world without glasses or contacts and it wasn't just a blurry mess. We got home and I followed all the directions for the next few days. There was some pain for a couple hours after the surgery but it wasn't unbearable. It was totally worth it! I waited to review until I was atleast 2 months post op to give a true an honest perspective. I scheduled an initial appointment in September and signed up for Lasik the following Friday. During the initial appointment a series of test are done on the eyes, slightly more comprehensive than your annual eye exam for contacts /glasses. Unfortunately, due to a number of factors a doctor called me a couple days prior to surgery and let me know that the Surgeon wanted to do PRK instead of Lasik as that was the safest option for my unique circumstances and the thinness of my corneas. I researched PRK up until a couple hours prior to the surgery and I was extremely nervous. The day of surgery I arrived and was shown back to a waiting area where they performed routine test, wrapped my hair, and prepped me for the operation. The operation itself is very hard to describe you have something holding your eyes open, numbing drops to ease irritation and you are looking as still as possible into a Lazer beam and you hear the nurse spitting out numbers, and the doctor is saying stay still over and over. It's all quite nerve wrecking because your eyes naturally would like to blink. The surgery took about 20 minutes. Immediately after you are given sun glasses, your prescriptions and a bag. The pain does not begin initially but with prk it soon comes shortly after returning home where you instructed to take the sleeping pills, and goggles and sleep. After waking my eyes were in terrible pain. Days 2-4 were the absolute worst pain. I had an extreme sensativity to light that was so bad I couldn't even be in my home with no lights on without dark sun glasses. I called immediately for a follow up appointment because the pain became unbearable. I was scheduled the next morning and Dr grand wrote me a prescription. Healing after the prescription went a lot smoother. 2 months post op I can see better than I can ever remember! It was worth all of the pain and I highly recommend lasik +. My surgery cost $4900 but it will vary from customer to customer and they run regular promotions. I would absolutely do it again and I'm so happy to be relieved of glasses and contacts. BUYER BEWARE if for some reason your surgery is not perfectly successful you will be left with no support. While the staff was friendly and informative BEFORE and during the surgery my experience is becoming a nightmare as time goes on. 1. My vision was better with contacts before LASIK. I now have halo effects on lights and tvs which has made my night vision horrible. 2. I was only given Advil PM for pain relief and sleep aid which didn't work so the few hours post op were miserable. 3. The marketing of lifetime support/revision is misleading. I informed them at my initial follow up appointment that I was seeing blur and halos but of course they tell you it takes 3+ months for the eyes to heal. Conveniently that's when they end their "medical care", too. But I wasn't overly concerned because I have "lifetime revision care"....right? Well, luck getting an appointment with them after three months. They are now telling me I'm released from "medical care" and to get an appointment with my eye doctor if my vision isn't clear. IF the doctor says my issues are because of LASIK then they will submit a request for a revision which could take EIGHT months. So basically they try to make it such a pain that they don't have to deal with you. I just sat on the phone for 20 min with a rep for her to tell me she can't get ahold of the office so I can talk to someone. They sure were quick to answer phones before I paid. This is horrible follow through and customer service. I recommend taking your money elsewhere because that's clearly what they care about. First, it's been a week and 2 days since my surgery and I am happy to report that I can see without glass/contacts and according to the Dr. my eyesight is 20/15! The only problem that I noticed is that I'm having a hard time seeing my armpits (to shave) and sometimes it's difficult to focus on things close up when I'm in low light. However, they say our eyes heal independently from one another and that it could take up to 3 months to fully heal. So, with that in mind, I'm hoping those little bumps in the road smooth out. Even if they don't, I am definitely happy with my results! Now that my update is out of the way, I'll tell you about my visit. The consultation was on a Thursday and lasted about an hour and a half. I got there early, so there was some waiting but I still got in by my appointment time. I was brought to a room where a technician dilated my eyes and ran some tests. Then, they brought me to another room where I saw one of the Dr's, and he performed more testing. Everyone at this point was extremely helpful, patient with me and answered all of my questions, no matter how ridiculous they were. After being told I would be a great candidate, I was moved to another room to talk finances. I chose to pay for the treatment outright with the money I'd been saving. Everyone's cost is going to be a little bit different because of various discounts, insurances, etc. For me, I paid $3530 total (due on procedure day if paying outright). For anyone else interested, they offer a variety of finance options and can guarantee in-house financing, too. I scheduled the procedure for the following Saturday (2 days after the consult). On the day of the surgery, I met the surgeon, Dr. Alban, and she made me feel super comfortable and confident. I was a nervous wreck but she was very reassuring. It also helps that her credentials are amazing. The first laser makes the cut and honestly this was the absolute worst part in my opinion. Not the cutting, but the part where they put eyelid holders in your eye and a ring that holds your eye in place. It didn't hurt but it felt like someone was pulling my eyes out of my head. There was SO MUCH pressure! But the Dr. has you focus on your breathing, talks to you the whole time, and within seconds it is over. The second laser was a piece of cake. All you did was stare at a green light for a minute or so and it was done! The reason I'm stealing a star from this otherwise 5 star experience, is because of my after-care. Immediately, I was put into a recovery room where I told my sister that I felt like there was an eyelash stuck in my eye. I asked her to grab the nurse because the numbing drops were wearing off and the eyelash was getting painful. The nurse came in and instead of looking in my eye, she just told me the feeling was normal. Even after I stated that my other eye didn't feel that way. She ushered us out the door and told me to go straight to sleep and I'll feel better later. When I got home, I pulled my eyelid open and found several eyelashes stuck in my eye, folded inward from the eyelid holder. As if that wasn't enough, the 2 Tylenol PMs they gave me to sleep wouldn't work for me. My eyes felt like they were on fire and there was no way I could get myself to pass out. After about 3 hours of laying in bed in pain, I had my sister call the Dr to see if I could take something stronger to go to sleep like a couple of benedryls. Of course, my sister called every phone number she could find, even the after-hours emergency number and no one answered. If you've ever gotten soap in your eye and your body doesn't let you open your eyelids and it burns, that's what this was like. I just had to lay there and wait for the pain to subside, about 8 hours later. Side note: I have a low tolerance for pain. About 11pm that night (surgery was at 3pm), I was able to hold my eyes open long enough to grab something to eat. This was when I noticed that I could see long-distance. They give you sunglasses to wear for 24 hours inside and outside. I was so thankful for those! Lights had glare but I could see-and that made the entire experience worth it. read more

I want to preface this and say that I know not everyone is a candidate for Lasik surgery and that is okay. However, the way that mine was handled was absolutely uncalled for and I am left very confused. I went about a week ago to the consultation and the staff was super friendly and kind. After about 2 hours I was cleared for surgery and had a date and paperwork filed and ready to go. Today I got to the office and they took me in for one final check. I was given the green light and the preparation began. I payed for my surgery, was put into the proper outfit, and was put in the chair to begin my operation. This is when the surgeons assistant came in and told me that the surgeon had decided that he had decided that I was too young for Lasik (I'm 27) and that I could come back when I'm 30. First off, there were plenty of others in the office that were younger than me. But they knew my age from the beginning. I left the office devastated and without reason as to the real reason why I couldn't get the surgery and a lot of time off and money put into the preparation gone to waste. This office needs to find a way to tell others that they are not candidates before making them go through the entire process and backing out. It's not fair to anyone that's involved! read more

I definitely do NOT recommend this place... I had scheduled a consultation for in office, as I do not understand the purpose of a virtual consultation for EYE procedures. Two days before my appointment I got an email and text changing my appointment to virtual, the text and email had 2 different reasons why it was being changed. so I cancelled. a few months later I decided to try again. made another consultation appointment for IN office. for 11:45am - the day before my appt. I get an email confirmation stating my appt for 11:30am was confirmed. I replied letting them know I made my appt for 11:45 and could they please reconfirm. they replied with NO greeting, NO apology, the email just said - we had to change your appointment time. THAT'S IT?!? They also state if you're late you will wait longer. so they change my appt. TWICE without asking if I minded, and had zero cares about it, so why on earth would I trust them with my vision? Not if they were the last place on earth to have lasik done! The front office is your first impression of your business, and if that's how the office staff is, how uncaring or unprofessional are the ones holding your sight in their hands? There's a few negative reviews on google, trust those reviews more than the positive ones! I had my Lasik procedure done on Thursday, Aug. 16th. The week after the procedure I noticed a very large floater in my left eye. I called the office, and they were extremely unhelpful. I finally drove to see Dr. Boodram without an appointment. He suggested I leave and go see the Florida retina Institute. They inspected my eyes and told me that I was at a greater risk for damage because of the Lasik A week later, I had a torn retina. I had to have emergency surgery at the Florida retina institute at the cost of $9000. I went through extensive rehab, and much pain because of the procedure. I attempted to contact Lasik plus but they refused any help. They forced me to pay for the surgery that caused a torn retina. They refused to take any accountability for tearing my retina. The staff is extremely unprofessional in my opinion. Four months later, and I have permanent damage in my left eye, I have a cataract in my left eye, and I have a very large floater in my right eye. I have a much higher risk of tearing my right eye retina because of the Lasik procedure. It is been a miserable few months, I recently read of a news reporter who committed suicide over her Lasik procedure, and I can understand her anguish. Dr. McCurry and his group are amazing! He called me the night before the surgery and the night of as well. This showed me that he cared. He talked with me throughout the whole procedure so that I knew what I was feeling/seeing was completely normal. The procedure itself was fast, but I was nervous so those 18 seconds of holding for the laser felt like years!! But after my nap I woke up with CLEAR VISION!!!!! And Dr. McCurry called me just to make sure everything was okay (Which allowed me to give an update and some additional questions to address). The procedure and staff deserve 5/5. The only reason I am giving a 4 (which I wish I could give a 4.5/5 lol) is because I didn't feel like I had the best discharge instructions. As a nurse, I'm used to giving thorough, step-by-step instructions on how to do something. I also go over side effects, what-to-expect, and red flags. Thank goodness my follow-up appointment was the next day so I could verify how many minutes to wait in between drops (I have 2 bottles of eye drops for each eye 4x a day). I've been waking up each morning with eye crust which I've read is normal (Read online). I also am TERRIFIED to touch or clean my eyes because of how much they stress not to rub them!! It's ok to wear makeup after 1 week but I wish they could have demonstrated or told me the best way to remove makeup or eye crust from my eyes/lashes in a safe manner. I know I could always call and ask but a comprehensive/thorough discharge instruction/demonstration would have been helpful to me. I have no pain and my eyes are 20/20!!! The team of amazing physicians were very upfront with everything and potential outcomes/risks/future aging effects as not to over promise. It honestly took away from the experience and trust in this persons clinical judgement from a scientific standpoint. My lasik+ experience has been a success. When you walk in the staff is friendly, the doctors can be described as professional but not very friendly. I was super nervous having my first major surgery day and the doctor evaluating my eyes before the surgeon wasn't very comforting and simply said "Everyone you see out there is getting the same procedure." .. that was pretty shocking and not as comforting to hear but rather something to say to end any conversation. While you are in the office you are not allowed to have family in the office, so you are alone waiting in the waiting area that is the office. Once the long wait was over- which you can expect about 3 hours wait but I didn't mind being nervous myself -it was my turn to go into the operating room which can be described as very sterile atmosphere. The surgeon was very direct in the operating room and it seemed to take all but about 10 minutes per eye and done. The most uncomfortable part after the receiving numbing eye drops was the ice cold water as part of process in rinsing the eyes. But actually felt nice after the ice bath for your eyeball. Then came a quick check in with the same older doctor from before, then he said I was free to leave to go to rest. I left leaving the office actually seeing and in no pain (I didn't realize how great those numbing drops were) The REAL recovery didn't start until after my post-op nap, which is recommended and my recovery from the eye pain lasted to about 5 days utilizing the eye drops about 3x a day, and instructions that I took home with me. All in all the surgery was a success and I'm reviewing the experience 3 months later. When you call the office you are actually speaking to a call center which has pro and cons. But mainly disadvantage because they have no idea what you are talking about if you're have real questions versus asking in the office or anything specific to do with you as the patient in the office. The actual office staff is friendly and happy to take your new business. The doctors are there to do the job. So the experience was a success. Hope this helps! read more

I had my Lasik surgery done at this facility about 8 years ago. I am now in need of the enhancement surgery that is needed that was paid for when I did the original Lasik done. They boast about the enhancement but the reality is that I started to notice my eyes were getting worse, went to the doctor in September of 2021 and sent over all of the necessary paperwork and requirements. They didn't "read the results" until January because they are backlogged according to the rep I was working with Ms. Bentley. She is great and has been helpful however, it is now March 2022 and I am still not closer to getting my enhancement. I went in for my second eye exam in February and they said that I needed to try some eye drops for 30 days to see if that helped my vision. It did not so I had my third eye exam last week. Got the call this morning and now I have to have a fourth eye exam in May. The lady was rude as can be and this is a bit ridiculous. Every week I have been getting intense headaches because my eyes are getting so bad that I am worried that they are just wasting my time in hopes I will just say forget it. My original was a good experience but this enhancement process has been nothing but excuses and me being ignored. I am beyond frustrated. read more

I had surgery here about a decade ago. I needed an enhancement 6 months later to "correct" an eye. I was told by the doctor that I should have gotten the life term contract. How many carvings of finite cornea surface area can be done under the terms of this grand life time contract? Just keep chipping away until I'm blind? And considering LasikPlus filed for bankruptcy was there really any guarantee the contract would be honored "for a life time" - or just until my eyes went to hell and then I'd be shown the door. About 3 years later, I started noticing that my "corrected" eye was weakening and my visual acuity was fluctuating almost hourly. 5 years later, I had an enhancement at a different doctor to "correct" my other eye. Now, I've been told repeatedly the initial surgery and enhancement were inappropriate for my eyes and I might eventually need cornea transplants. Do your homework before submitting to these procedures. Check out lawsuits to see the damage that can happen. See what the rate of corneal ectasia is and ask them to explain what it is. Do a double take if you're told you can throw your glasses away. I'm now battling to get my eyesight to a reasonable level and it has been a miserable few years. The only reason I am giving this facility a 1 is that most of their personnel are nice, but disorganized at best. Other than that they would receive a zero. I had my original eye procedure 1 1/2 years ago. It took almost 8 months for them to do an enhancement of ONE eye. Never telling me on the initial consultation that I may need multiple procedures due to my prescription. I am still waiting to get the enhancement on my other eye. My appt for my enhancement was scheduled, but because it has been so long since the original surgery they cancelled me on the day of surgery telling me my eye is too unstable. I have been straining my eye because one eye was "fixed" and they other eye is not. This has created headaches and possibly injury to the good eye. They are not proactive in scheduling appts, do not return phone calls and disorganized. They do not call you and inform you of the need for multiple eye visits. You sit around in the office as long as 1 hr or longer before you are seen. When the offices opened back up post CoVid they told me they needed to see initial surgeries first (most likely because they are paying customers) and would call and schedule my visit. They never did. I finally scheduled this appt, only to have them cancel me the day of the surgery being told to come back in a month for another eye exam. Another delay. My fiancé got his eye done here (PRK) and he said it was the best thing that ever happened to him. His vision was -6/-7 & was sick of wearing eyeglasses since wearing contacts was not an option. Pre-op appointments very rushed. Did not get a long time with the doctors yet for some reason had to wait quite a bit past appointment time to see them. Overbooking? Bad planning? One doctor became visibly annoyed when I was taking too long for the chart exam. I felt rushed to answer quickly and may not have given the best exam performance I could. Came in for my 1pm treatment yesterday. I was told ahead of time to expect it to take up to two hours. I had to sign a bunch of papers that had pretty terrifying ramifications. Like how I will just have to accept that if the machine malfunctions and blinds me, that's life and I'll just have to live with that and I've signed off on it. Damn. Scary. I did ask for a copy of everything I signed. They said they'd put it all in a folder for me. Later I discovered they were not all in the folder after all, but I did get them from another employee myself. Anyways, since I wouldn't be able to drive my wife and baby had to come stay during it. Doing pretty good at first, but then 2pm rolls by and I still hadn't been seen. Then 2:30. Then 3:00 pm. Then 3:20. We start to run out of baby supplies and it's been a long time and baby is getting cranky. My wife leaves to get some while I continue to wait. She's back around 3:45. I still haven't been seen. I've been given no explanation why. I've received no status of a realistic expectation of when I will be seen. Around 4, they finally take me in for my 1 o'clock appointment. They spend about 15 minutes with me and say I'm done and can go. No debrief, no talk about how it went, go to the counter to see if I should check out or anything and I'm just told I can leave. Pretty surreal to have someone operate on your eye and then you just walk out without talking about it. Today is my follow up. I got a contact bandaid put on my eye that I need removed. Well. Guess what. It's an hour past my appointment time again. This is typical here. Will I have to wait three hours past my appointment again? Who knows. And that's when I decided to pull out Yelp. If I was actually getting service during my scheduled appointment times, I wouldn't have time or even probably think about leaving a negative review. My overall view of this service here is that it's probably a good product, and well advertised, but failed on the delivery - including overbooking of patients, lack of status/information to waiting patients, rushed appointments, and other human factors that are probably important to you if you are going to drop 3 to 5 grand and let someone operate on your eyes. There is another business offering a similar service across from my work, if I did it again I may have given a shot to the competitor and tried them out. Also - As for vision. It's mostly good. Mostly. I don't need glasses for day to day tasks but I can't really read road signs at night and have dry eyes a lot (that's an expected common side effect though) read more
