We've been coming to Maggiore"s since it opened and have always enjoyed it. It had been about 6 months since our last visit and was disappointed in our experience. It was a slow night, food took 40 minutes, never offered a refresh of my cocktail, salad had a hair in it that was not mine. Server didn't check on us while we waited for food and never apologized for the 40 min wait. We got out as quick as possible. Hope the service turns around, and expectations are raised for staff. We want this place to succeed as a staple sports pub and hang out for the neighborhood. read more

Reviews weren't great so we gave it Mag's an honesty try. It might be an ok local bar but as a restaurant, I would not recommend. Service: our server was nice and seemed to be trying but execution was terrible. We ordered a quesadilla for our toddler when we ordered drinks. That was forgotten and never made it. When we ordered a pizza they asked if we wanted ranch, we said yes. When the pizza came out, they forgot the ranch...and the plates, until they came back out to refill our drinks and saw us not eating. Food & drinks: The pizza wasn't bad. Not amazing but no complaints. The queso was decent but the chips were terrible. I would've rather brought some chips from home so I could enjoyed the queso. Quesadilla? No idea because we never got it. Drinks had good prices. The beer was a good size and cold. The margarita was terrible. Instead of using lime juice, they use sweet and sour. As there are already a plethora of reviews about this spot, I'll save the introduction to this place. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I have been meaning to thank this establishment for the service I received on 8/5/2022 from Cindi. The time of day that I came in, there weren't many patrons, and as such, Thing One and I were seated right away. We ordered two 10' pizzas, which were fresh and filling. Veggie Pizza- I love Americanized pizza, but who doesn't ? How many other dishes can you eat for any meal of the day?! You can top pizza with just about any ingredient you're craving and enjoy it year-round. Easily customizable, pizza can be made vegan, vegetarian, or piled with meaty options. This pizza was loaded with fresh veggies to include red onion, bell peppers, tomatoes, green and black olives, and mushrooms. The veggies on this pizza seemed to be thrown on haphazardly, and I've never had a veggie pizza like this (with both black and green olives), but it somehow worked. The kick from the red onion on the pizza balanced out the saltiness of the black olives. Mexican Martini- Ironically, the origin story of the Mexican Martini begins at an Irish bar called The Cedar Door, located in downtown ATX. So, this one should be just as good as the one served at The Cedar Door, right? Not really. Generally, a Mexican Martini should be frothy, icy, and well-balanced, which this was not. The plastic shaker served with my drink should have been an indicator that this would be a less than stellar drink. The drink itself tasted as if the mix was pre-made. The drink disappointment aside, the service provided by Cindi was prompt and friendly. This may be your place to go if you are in the mood for some bar food with popular music and TVs galore. #supportlocal read more

We go here very frequently. I usually get wings or the cheesesteak but I got a burger this time and I have to say, it is the best burger I've had in Austin. If you've been to Kellers drive-in in Dallas, some of the best old fashioned burgers, mags is comparable. Almost exactly the same. So dang tasty, I made noises. And as always, the service was perfect and we enjoyed sports highlights and some fun fail videos. I am so pleased about my burger! Will, of course, be back. No pics because I eat my food. read more

Located next to a Randall's grocery store, It seems like an Italian restaurant but when you get in it's mainly a sports bar. There was spaghetti and a chicken fettuccini Alfredo plus fish tacos, Philly cheese steak and several varieties of burgers and a lot of appetizers on the menu. It has a full bar and wine and beer selections. My wife had the chicken park and said the chicken was good but the Alfredo sauce had no flavor at all Vic and the jar sauce from the grocery store is better. No salad and one breadstick. $10.99 The cheesesteak was good, made with prime rib for $12.99 but the little $3.00 glass of fries was not worth the price. Bill with tax and before tip = $29.20 Service was good and waitress was friendly and engaging. There was a pool table toward the back and the atmosphere was dark with a wall of TV's over the Bar and several more scattered around. Medium loud was on the overhead speakers. read more

We had great experiences here the first 3 times. We always go to the "Speakeasy" section. The bartender, I think his name is Adam, was always attentive and great to talk to. But, the next few times we went he wasn't there. The food is pretty good, but something about the whole vibe has been off. It seems like they cater more to their "regulars". I used to work down the street from Mag's at NOV. It was a regular lunch spot with co-workers. This was prior to 2020. I work elsewhere now and I needed a new place to work remotely for lunch. Started going to Mag's on the first week of February '25 and continued on Mondays. The first time pizza was alright. The second time pizza was too salty. could not even eat half the pizza. So for a change this last Monday, I ordered wings with the carrot habanero hot sauce. I got 10 wings with a roach crawling out from under the the wings. I have since asked other people in my circle. Haven't ever waited so long here for food or drinks but nothing was remotely close to hot so it obviously sat under the warmer for a while. We were offered it to be put under the lamps again but we didn't want to wait another hour. I will come back but the people next to us clearly had a good idea of bringing their own McDonald's. A neighborhood favorite facing tough times. The sign outside says to expect lengthy waits, so we did. Time from order to table was around 45 minutes, that's fine. We got our own utensils and napkins, we can handle that. We got our own menus, whatever But missing the basics is not OK - our pizza and wings were cold. Not lukewarm, cold to the touch. They offered to reheat/microwave them after we pointed it out but honestly everyone was so hungry we just plowed ahead, and no one wants microwaved food at a restaurant. The wings are expensive now - again, we get that, national shortage, etc etc - but then quality was so disappointing. Seven of the ten were just tiny. Tiny cold wings, $17 for 10. Our drink order was off. That we *did* send back for correction. Is that wrong? The table next to us walked to McDonald's for food. I thought that was over the top at first. At first. We didn't ask for anything to be taken off the tab, but wondered if anything would be. Absolutely not. The even upcharged us for ranch dressing. Look, I know service staffing is terrible right now, but some places are handling it better than others. Mag's is not handling it well. I went for an after work hang out with 10 people. We had to share 3 menus which didn't make sense with how many of us were there. Despite our waitress mixing things up or forgetting things we had a good time and the food was great. I got 10 wings; 5 garlic parmesan, and 5 Parmesan Ranch. My wife and I came here the other day and sat outside on a beautiful day. We randomly picked this place so I thought we were going to an Italian place but it's more American than anything. While we didn't sit inside, it seemed a bit loud and dark with a bunch of TVs probably great for watching basketball or football when/if that ever returns. We ordered fried mushrooms, pepperoni rolls and a Phily sub. All were awesome and well proportioned - actually the mushrooms surprised us with how many there were. Food itself was really good and what you'd expect. The one thing that really shocked me was the lack of cleaning thus less stars. You'd figure with everything going on that the tables would be cleaned with a clean towel and disinfectant right? Nope... they were just wiped down the table with a dirty towel. Same towel on multiple tables. Gotta say, food was good. Service was alright, but the cleaning was sub par considering Covid. We will be back, but will probably bring our own wipes for the table. read more

Top Spin is fund for Karaoke and Moutons has a great Cajun atmosphere and food but if you want to come meet some nice regulars and incredible wait staff this is your home away from home! If you are lucky enough to find Bobbie (pic attached) behind the bar you will not be disappointed! Tim, Jordyn, Michelle, Matt and so many other awesome bartenders are spot on with the best mixed drinks and awesome happy hour beers! These were the best wings I've ever had!!! The skin is actually crispy (not slimy). We did all drums I think it was a $4 up charge with the 15 wings. Side of fries-yumm! Would love to have tried this place with my family, but unfortunately did not get a chance to. On this particularly Friday night it was not busy. The dining area was less than half full. Despite this it took several minutes to be acknowledged and finally seated. Once seated, we had all our orders picked out but a server hadn't even swung by to get drink orders. Finally a man came by but only to tell us there was some confusion on who would be our waiter and that he would get them right away. Apparently "right away" means go clear some other tables and not go get someone to get our orders. Our kids ended up growing restless and we ended up leaving. It's a shame because this place is right down the street from us and potentially could have been a regular spot if we would have left with a good impression. read more

I can taste me food. None of it is good. The buns were soggy white bread straight out of the bag of cheap buns smooched on the low shelf of Randals next door. Blue cheese smeared on the bun... 2 weird strips of day old reheated bacon in the shape of an X. Awkward food presentation at best. One medium rare burger was cooked well done. The music and patio were nice. Our waitress was nice and attentive when she stopped by the table, but we needed her 4x more than she was available to us!!! She was nice... but our drinks were dry for a while more than once. And the whole process.. two drink and 1 entre... took far too long, and we just wanted out. I passed this place several times and always told myself I would try the food. Yesterday was the day! I placed a to go order on the phone of a small pepperoni pizza and was able to pick it up in ten minutes. The lady that took my order was nice and patient because I changed my order twice. I paid inside at the bar which was different, but the bartender was nice. The pizza was a bit too cheesy for my personal taste, but overall it was good. I plan to return! read more

If you have food allergies, AVOID at all costs. Weny to late lunch with wife and her friend. I ordered the grilled chicken salad, saw the menu listed onions. I asked for no onions, wife ordered her food plus drink and water. My salad came out with onions. I sent it back, explaining my allergies. They took the salad back, removed the onions, and brought IT back. That's right, same salad with onions picked off. I did not have my epi-pen with me,, so i called waiter back over and explained i could not eat the salad. He promptly grabbed it and took it away. Not once did he ask why, if he replace it, if I wanted something else, Just walked away leaving me without a lunch. No manager came by to ask why I sent it back, no one checked to see if I was hungry. First bad experience here. Would like to give them an opportunity yto repair the relationship. I went to Maggiore's to watch the Super Bowl, and it was a good decision. They have happy hour prices all day on Sunday, which include $3 pints for domestic beer. I had the chicken quesadillas, which were $9, so my tab was less than $30 plus tip. The front area has a TV in most of the booths, allowing those customers to have their own TV. The back room, which is over 21 only, has large-screen TVs lining the wall behind the bar, plus other TVs spread around, so that just about every seat has a good view. We came when the place was dead, there were only three other groups besides ours in the whole restaurant. It took them 40 minutes to bring our food out. 40. Minutes. For a turkey and cheese sandwich.
