    Mexican Plate

We had yummy food but the service was pretty slow. The waiter brought out my food and we had to wait another 15-20 minutes for my husband's meal. They do not have a bar, or a fountain soda. They don't have queso, and I was disappointed in the lack of salsa to dip chips. The restaurant is small, disorganized and needs a remodel. Friendly staff, but I would recommend going to other excellent restaurants in the area!

The most authentic Mexican breakfast you will find in Boerne, hands down. (I am Mexican therefore consider myself an expert.) The service is also excellent.

Every time we come the food is so yummy and we get such great, friendly service. Their chilaquiles are a must try!!!

To start, when visiting on a very busy Saturday morning the service was terrific despite other reviews trashing it. The young man serving us made suggestions and the restaurant was happy to do 2 different types of enchiladas on the same entree plate although enchilada combos weren't on the menu. They even stopped us while we were preparing to leave to top off our tea to-go cups. It's clean and cheerful inside, a little loud but in a social local way. Lots of families. The prices are very very reasonable. A couple of beef items were $10-$12 but everything else was below $10. There's a big tray of Mexican pastries in the middle of the dining room. Looked delish but I wanted to save my appetite for my gordita picadillo and enchiladas. Glad I did because the picadillo was incredibly flavorful (unusual for this often bland beef and potato comfort food). I'd come back just for the picadillo. The green enchilada was bright and zingy and the chicken tender and moist. The mole enchilada had very deep complex flavors. Very rich. Good breakfast plates, solid beans and rice. Try the Mague's Special Taco for a yummy switch up on breakfast tacos. Very good house made tortillas. I wasn't a fan of the green salsa on the table nor the relleno, but that's a matter of taste. Recommended.

I gave them four stars as the best overall Mexican food in Boerne. Good restaurants are scarce in Boerne. The food here was super hot, fresh and tasty. This is my new go to restaurant in Boerne. I had the Mexican plate and my wife had the Fiesta plate. It was a lot of food and the crispy taco was extra perfect. Wrapping up the meal I went for a tortilla. The tortilla was very magical as it was one of the best I have had in awhile. To be clear compared to other Mexican restaurants in San Antonio I would rate this more of a 3 than a 4. We enjoyed a side of pico de gallo and felt it was worth the extra $1-2. It was not as full of tomatoes just the way we like it.

Unfortunately, it was on the opposite side of the road so we had to turn around. The place was not crowded when we went in but had a few tables occupied. We ordered our food and sat down. We got presented with chips and salsa - very surprisingly delicious salsa! The food followed a few minutes later and we must have been hungry because the food disappeared pretty quickly. I had the beef street tacos and my wife ordered the puffy tacos. Mine were delicious by itself or with the sauce that were in squeeze containers. No matter, my beef tacos were good. They were full of meat with onions and cilantro. The cilantro was optional but I wanted it. My wife almost licked the plate. We probably need to come back and try the others on their menu. As for the ambiance, it's bright with a tall ceiling. It's located on a very busy corner - 46 and Main St by Cypress creek. Parking is in the back and you need to know Boerne well to find it. Overall, this place has good delicious food. We promised our relatives who are visiting us soon that we will take them here.

We ordered street tacos...my husband got the beef and I got chicken. They are completely customizable, so they'll be exactly what you want. I've been to this restaurant a handful of times and I've always gotten the same thing, but I have no doubt everything is delicious. They also have a cocktails and beer. Parking is behind the restaurant and there isn't a lot of it. They also have patio seating in the back. We got there right when they opened and it was getting busy right away. You can enter from the front and back. Only small negative is that they have tile floors and metal chairs, so it gets very loud and hard to hear the busier it gets.

They also make a chicken fried ribeye which I've yet to try. The fries, toast and the chili con queso were kind of average and the chips were a bit hard for my liking. Very nice staff. The food is…read morealways hot and delicious, as it was this past Valentine's Day when we wentthere for lunch. The food here is Tex Mex, which is standard in these parts. Having been raised with a healthy dose of it throughout my life, it is my favorite comfort food. They also have an excellent selection of seafood dishes, which makes it a great choice for Fridays, especially during Lent. We were seated promptly and our waitress brought us our drinks and chips almost immediately. She was really friendly. The chips and salsa were tasty - the salsa was fresh and not too hot. The salsa is made in-house, so sometimes it's hotter than others. Today it was on the mild side. They had a special Valentine's Day menu. Since this was lunch, we chose from the regular menu. I had the crispy beef taco plate and my husband had enchiladas. No complaints there! The taco shells were crispy and the ground beef was steamy hot and properly seasoned. The rice and beans were quite good, the rice being above average. Their guacamole has no surprises, like funky ingredients or a bunch of onions in it. I like my guacamole simply seasoned, if at all. Just basic mashed avocado, please, thank you very much. That's exactly what I got. I decided to splurge and have a cocktail, so I ordered a black Russian. It took a little while. The waitress apologized and said the bartender didn't know what that was and had to look it up. Because it was the afternoon and we weren't in a rush, I didn't mind. I was a little surprised he didn't know what a black Russian is, but peeps have to learn sometime. The more experienced bartenders usually get the evening shift, I would imagine. In any event, it was made to perfection. My husband liked his meal. He works in inner city SA, and prefers the hole in the wall places. He does like El Rio, though; he's the one who introduced me to it years ago. In short, if you are looking for standard Tex Mex food in a comfortable environment then this is certainly good choice. It's never been noisy or overcrowded when we've been here for lunch.
