The electrician we have used for years is no longer in the area. I asked my friend Julie if she had any recommendations and she recommended Dustin with Mahaffey Electric. We had a very old and very heavy chandelier we wanted hung not only on the ceiling but the ceiling in a stairway. The ceiling was quite high. Brandon came out on Friday and installed the chandelier. I thought it would be a challenge but no challenge. He was done before I knew it. Not only did he do a beautiful job hanging the chandelier but he also attached I don't even know how many heavy crystals from it. It was very sentimental to us because it hung at the home of my in-laws since the 70's so we wanted to make sure whoever we hired was a professional. I am in awe at how beautiful it looks hanging. From first contact (weeks before the (smallish) job started) until we said good bye, Dustin was professional and his work top notch. On time, conscientious, and cleaned up after himself (hear that other guys, we like that!). I had 3 kitchen lights removed and 3 new one put in (requiring new holes in the ceiling) as well as he switched the placement of my pendent light switch (from one side of the room to the other) and moved phone cabling (convenience for me) all in a relatively short period of time. I had several estimates to have 3 ceiling fans installed in my place and decided to go with Mahaffey Electrical. One of the main reasons I chose Mahaffey is because they patch up any holes that needed to be patched up and made the least amount of the metal casing shown. In two rooms my ceilings are vaulted wooden beams and did not want metal casing going from floor to ceiling (which is what the other electricians said needed to be done). Dustin did a wonderful job and the metal casings are minimal and only run across the beams. They are barely noticeable. I am so glad I chose to have Dustin install the ceiling fans. He did an amazing job. I would definitely recommend him to all my family and friends and will definitely use him in the future. read more

Dustin is a no-nonsense kind of guy, and he runs his end of the electrical business he operates with his father in a totally professional way. My husband totally loves that he calls if he will be late (rarely ever happens) or if he gets stuck on another job. And he arrives when he says he will. Amazing! He's never left us hanging or wondering about a job. We've had a total panel upgrade, numerous outlets moved, disconnected, or installed, GFIs put in, garden electrical run, track lights installed, and numerous other little jobs. Dustin never makes you feel like a job is too small or not worth his time. And, if something's not right (we had a faulty GFI he installed that wasn't running our garden watering system) he comes RIGHT out to fix it ... um, free of charge because it should still be under warranty. Honesty? When does that ever happen anymore? He itemizes every single thing he uses, with the correct price (not a huge markup) and it very clear about all aspects of each transaction. He even puts up with my kid asking him a million questions and my dogs sticking their noses in his ears when he leans over! So, it's two weeks before Christmas and my husband and I had just closed on our first home in So Cal. Finally having a place of our own - Awesome! Lighting and electrical in the new place - NOT Awesome!! Picture built-in ugly brown boxes with '80's tube fluorescent lighting in the kitchen, no lighting at all in the living room, and a horribly off center ceiling fan in the dining room, yep, that's what Dustin had to work with! I called Dustin after finding him on Yelp, and he was very easy going and nice on the phone. He worked with our schedules to find a convenient time to stop by and give us a quote (after 5 PM -extra points!!!). Dustin was very professional, up front, and honest, and we felt completely comfortable with his electrical expertise and ability to do the job exactly as we wanted it. He had vision! And he also had lots of great advice to help guide us to get the lighting look and feel we wanted for our home. Even though it was right before the holiday's and he was super busy, Dustin scheduled our job quickly and worked within our renovation schedule. We weren't able to be home during the work, but we trusted Dustin and his crew and left them a key and they did their thing! We had around 17 recessed lights put in throughout the house, several ceiling fans removed and replaced with new fixtures, bathroom vent/light installed, and several outlets either moved or added, and drywall touch up work completed around the old fixtures.
