One of our favorite go to date spots! The review is long over due. Tonight we came in for a weekday dinner date. Has plenty of parking and is easy to get to, close to lower Sac road. Has a nice upper casual atmosphere, the people are always so welcoming. The owner greets us with a smile every time! The FOOD! I recommend this place to literally everyone I know. Thai food is one of my favorites and Thai Spices is a testament to that! I love that they have all sorts of protein options. Of course plenty of chicken, beef, pork and tofu but also seafood like fish, shrimp, scallop and also duck and lamb! Tonight we started off splitting a large Singha, which will fill up 2 very chilled beer mugs. We then got the Pad See Ew with Beef. The beef was cut so thin and was so tender. The dish was savory and we even used a bit of white rice to soak the rest of the sauce up! We also got an order of the Red Curry Duck, again the meat is sliced thin and is super tender. Cooked in the red curry with bell pepper and bamboo shoot. Then an order of large white rice. The spices on the side are so tasty too and so fun to experiment! The place I now go when I would like some delicious vegetarian thai food, whether dining in or doing takeout. My faves are the pad see ew, drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice, and of course, that reliable pad thai. I can order what I want with tofu, and most without fish sauce, and it's not a bother. Service here is really awesome. They're so friendly and we love coming in for family gatherings. Family style or individual, you will still have leftovers more than likely, and the price is right. The menu is extensive. I still haven't tried any of the curries, but I'll get there eventually y'all. I do like the egg rolls and spring rolls. There's a vegetarian version of both. On our last visit, sweet potato fries and lightly fried asparagus were ordered for the table as appetizers. Each was quite yummy. Nothing I've tried lacks flavor or quality. It's a bright, clean restaurant, with a couple tvs, but not turned up too loud. We were able to catch part of World Cup here over the weekend. Everything about this place is great. Our regular Thai place was closed, so we decided to give this place a try. So glad we did. First, this is for an order to go, so I cannot comment on table service. But, staff was really welcoming and friendly when we entered. This is a cute little restaurant, nicely decorated, with a lot of customers, so that's a great sign. Our order was ready before it was supposed to be, so that was also a huge plus. We ordered chicken pad Thai with shrimp added in, pad see-ew, sticky rice with mango, a Thai tea, and curry puffs. Extremely underwhelming, this spot used to be AMAZING. Maybe it was an off day? I can only recommend the fried banana and Coco ice cream. I got massamam curry, egg rolls, crab wontons, drunken noodles, fried banana/coconut ice cream & pineapple fried rice. NOTE/WARNING: this restaurant charges approximately 4% as an "administration fee" or some such. I am not sure if this is some local tax response or applies when you use a credit card as opposed to cash. It added a couple dollars more to our $50 bill before tax. I don't recall seeing it disclosed on the menu and I didn't feel like questioning it at the time, but I do want to point it out to my readers. A mix of Thai and other objects adorn the walls of local favorite in a strip mall that also boasts a Japanese restaurant (Yume) next door. It is a pleasant space to walk into. Being server was friendly and helpful and able to assure that the red curry sauce did not rely on shrimp paste or fish sauce. Commercial red curry paste preparations generally have shrimp paste. This is important to my wife as she is a vegetarian. So she ordered the red curry with tofu and I ordered the grilled lamb chops with the accompanying plum sauce For an appetizer, we had the veggie summer rolls. They come with a dipping sauce, but I asked and they were able to bring out a dipping sauce of fish sauce and Thai bird chilies. This is something I always ask for as my form of Brown M&M's test. My friend and I arrived at 8:15 for dinner on Wednesday evening. I was really tired from my drive from the central coast, and needed a good not too "heavy" meal as I had yet to drive to Reno that night. Both my dishes were delightful. Portion is enough for 1 person but not enough for 2. I was still hungry after sharing this. I would definitely get the fried sea bass again! Wish it came with more sauce, but it was still tasty. Had a good amount of bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Pad se ew was also tasty. Came with a lot of tofu. Broccoli was cooked just right. For appetizers, I usually get fresh spring rolls with shrimp. These are better than most because they season their shrimp, it also comes with tofu, and they use spinach not lettuce. Their peanut sauce it not your typical kind. It's more liquidy vinegar with peanuts, very good! I also get their Thai fries which are sweet potato fries with a nice glaze of sauce. Their customer service is always good. I've never had a problem when dining here. They have a lot of tables. They're a bit pricey but I usually come here when I want Thai food. read more

I come here fairly often, but I stick with a couple of the same items out of habit. Their Pad Thai is really good, but I wasn't impressed with the Pad See Ew. The grilled chicken is also good. Service is always fast and friendly. I always call ahead and by the time I get there the order is always ready and waiting. Definitely give them a try. read more

We drive an hour and fifteen minutes from Murphy's for this thai food. It's worth every minute and mile of the drive to dine here. Restaurant is clean, staff and owner make you always feel like family, and food comes out FRESH and FAST. We have tried various dishes over the years and our staple reorders are: Pad Thai Drunken noodles Fresh spring rolls - ALWAYS Thai fries Crab rangoons Pineapple fried rice Any of the curry's I grew up going to Thai food regularly because my dad was stationed in Thailand so he was very skeptical whether a Thai place tasted authentic or was too sugary and Americanized. Decided to try another Thai spot in the area, and I was not as satisfied as I wished. I got the classic and "basic" choice haha, chicken pad Thai because it's good all the time. It was 7/10. It had all the right bits but the chicken was pretty dry tbh. Albeit, I ordered the last 1 hour of it being open but that shouldn't compromise flavor? Nevertheless, it had good ambience seating, and had friendly staff. I'd probably have a sit down next time during more popular hours to get better cooked protein perhaps. read more

A decent thai spot in lodi. Went on a weekday in the late afternoon. I ordered the sampler and it was great. I loved the fact they gave me 2 different sauces to try it with. The thai tea was good, anot overly sweet. The pad thai was just ok. I usually like mine where the noodles has a bit of a char to it rather than more saucy/soggy. I asked for some ground chili pepper and that really helped to elevate the heat. Service was good and I will def be back again. read more

This place is my new Thai spot in Lodi. The food is delicious and the ambience and service are also wonderful. I almost didn't believe the online pricing as it seems so reasonable and it's difficult to find places with menu items under $15, however my Pad Thai and Tom Kai spot were both 12.95!! And the portions were generous. Only negative is there is a very small fee to use a credit card, but this is not a dealbreaker at all considering. I will definitely be back! read more

Thai Spices Restaurant is located in the same plaza as Yume Sushi and F & M Bank. I dined here with my husband, my aunt and uncle 2 Sundays ago for dinner. My husband decided to make a reservation for 4, at 6 pm. We were seated immediately but it seemed that reservations were not necessary since there were still empty tables available. After looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: SA1 SomTom (Papaya Salad), $10.70 prior to tax- I just love papaya salad and almost always order this at any Thai restaurant. The size of salad is actually a great size, especially for the price. I found this salad to be refreshing, filling and perfectly made. I would come back just to have this salad. Please note that this salad is made with shrimp and crab for those that may be allergic or omit seafood from their diet. N24 Pad See Ew, $12.70 prior to tax- I thought the pad see ew dish was a little on the sweet side, which I didn't like as much. But my aunt really liked my dish and seemed to want to trade dishes (lol). My uncle loved my dish so much that I let him take home the leftovers. I ordered this dish with tofu since both my aunt and uncle are vegetarian (but you can order this dish with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp). N25 Drunken Noodle, $12.70 prior to tax- My aunt didn't know what to order since she rarely ever eats Thai food. I suggested this, as this dish and paw see ew are one of my favorite noodle dishes to get (although I did also tell her that most people typically order pad Thai if she really wanted to try that). She liked her dish but seemed to like my dish more. I actually preferred her dish, as I thought the sauce for the noodles was better made than the one for my pad see ew. My aunt ordered this dish to be made with tofu. My uncle really loved this dish too and was all too happy to eat up the rest of the plate (lol). Evil Jungle Curry, $15.70 prior to tax- My husband opted for this curry and ordered it with chicken. He liked the dish but wished it was spicier. I think the woman (possibly the manager or owner?) who took our order made this dish mild since both my aunt and I ordered our dishes spice level to be none (we aren't spicy eaters). I liked my husband's dish. C32 Pa Nang, $11.95, prior to tax- My uncle decided to go with a curry dish. He really liked his dish (but none of us tried his dish). Two orders of brown rice in bowl shown, $4.50 prior to tax- We were able to get a refill without an additional charge which was nice. But I felt that their brown rice was a little hard and probably could have benefitted from a little more water when cooking it (I cook brown rice all the time and eat it regularly. Brown rice shouldn't be this hard and crunchy). ---------------------------- (Total= $73.88 after tax, prior to tip) Service was friendly but wished we had our water glassed refilled more often, especially since its been pretty hot outside. Honestly, I have had better Thai food back home in Los Angeles. But Thai Spices Restaurant still has some pretty good food and would consider coming back, especially for that papaya salad. read more

This place is truly a Lodi gem. They have an excellent menu with a lot of vegetarian-friendly options. They have four levels of spice (mild, medium, hot, and Thai hot for the brave of heart). Their prices are very good and the quality of their fare is off the charts! The staff is friendly. The food service is quick. How do you describe such flavorful food?! You can tell the ingredients are quality! The crab rangoons, totally not panda style. I think it's a phyllo crust. So light and the insides were delicious! My favorites were the fried rice and pa nang curry. It has a kick but not so much you can't taste the food. It only added to the flavor. The chow mein was also AMAZING!!! I've never had chow mein that good before! Fresh veggies, not oily or greasy. Just delicious! My husband was like "who are you"? What a lovely little spot for thai food in the heart of Lodi wine country. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable about food allergens. I have a non-celiac gluten sensitivity and they noted most of their menu was gluten free, but they recommended we stay away from fried items. We enjoyed their pad thai and pa nang curry, both with shrimp, and everything was delicious. I love coming to lodi to wine taste and I'm so excited to have discovered a new spot for food.
