We came here around 5:30pm on a long weekend, and we were seated at a patio right away. I ordered the pacific seafood chowder, and my partner ordered the beef dip with a side salad. The beef dip had great quality beef and it was very tasty, but my partner was still hungry after his meal. My seafood chowder was also quite small, and the waiter forgot to bring a spoon. He said he'd be back to bring me a spoon, but he never came back. I looked over and saw him clearing other tables so it seemed like he completely forgot. We eventually had to get someone's attention to obtain a spoon. The view can't be beat. Took one star off for the lack of spoon for my chowder and the smaller portions. read more

Super cool pub on the harbor. Friendly service although a bit disinterested, all business. Although it seemed like, at least on the night we sat for a while, that we were not part of the younger crowd (we are late 40s).... so could be that we were just the old cooters at the bar? There are lots of beers and whiskey, we didn't stay long and didn't eat anything. Pretty cool bar fixture, very wide open and large, a bit impressive. This bar kind of reminded me of being in Boston for some reason. Festive enough but maybe not the kind of bar that makes our hearts go pitter pat. Great views though and right on the harbor. We had the pakoras and nachos and found the pakora very nice and just spicy.enough and the chutney is great. The nachos were pretty on presentation but lacked cheese. We found just the very skim layer on top had a thin layer. Other than that it was fine. In your in the neighborhood its worth a visit for the view and pub feel on the water looming out on the north shore. read more

We just had some drinks and yam fries. The fries were absolutely delicious; they were extremely crispy and had the perfect amount of salt. The chipotle mayo was spicy, but went well with the fries. We ordered the Irish Rose and a beer. The Irish Rose was amazing!!! Tasted just like strawberry lemonade. If you're in the area and want a drink or an app, I'd recommend giving it a try. This place is fun only if u get to sit on patio ( which is not always possible because of rain n too much busy during summer time) We got a table in the corner of the restaurant even though there were tables close to windows. No doubt it was exclusive with 3 sides enclosed but we didnt feel part of the restaurant . Service was slow n average quality. Food is high price but the taste is nothing so outstanding. Infact i was disappointed by the papaya salad i ordered which was regular greens n few pieces of papaya in it( atleast it could have more papaya chunks) Finally when we were done eating , our bill took even longer to come. first place we have visited in Canada and it was very enjoyable! We stopped in mainly because my husband needed to use the bathroom, but we were drawn in to sit down by the yummy smells and delicious looking drinks. I ordered a pina colada and my husband got the Mai tai; they were both really good! we were pretty hungry as well, so we tried their Irish poutine..reasonably priced and tasty but I would have loved more of the cheese on the fries... there was very little. We came here as a fallback and we were very happy that we did. We were greeted by a bunch of smiling ladies and were luck to get Stef as our server. It's a typical bar...loud but because of it's location on the waterfront with plenty of windows it was extremely bright with great views. I can only speak about the burger I had but that was enough. A blue cheese burger with fries. The most important rules were followed.... The burger was tasty and not overcooked to a hockey puck and the fries were golden brown (as I requested.) The role (most important part) was crunchy on the top and soft in the middle, not dried out at all. Service was good and quick considering how busy this place was during a break at the convention center. The deck overlooking the water is big, gets a lot of sun, and the view is great. If I were judging this place just for the food I'd tend towards a 2.5. Food was ok but not anything I'd come back for. Fries were good. Tacos were pretty meh, sandwich sounded good but the bread was thick and uninspired and there wasn't a whole lotta flavor in the chicken and Brie part either. Whisky sour was alright but not good enough I'd specifically order again. I eyed nachos at the next table and thought I don't want to eat. 3.5 Stars It was really hard for me to figure out how many stars to give after browsing through the reviews pointed out several things that I had not considered before. I came here with a small group around 1pm on a Tuesday and it was fairly packed because of a real estate gathering at the convention center. We didn't really have to wait long for a table and we ended up with a spot with the view of the water. (We were pleased!) Our waitress was fairly pleasant but I do remember that she was hard to flag down and extremely hard to find after ordering. It was surprisingly difficult to get somebody to bring the bill! (Albeit it was very busy) The food is quite expensive for lunch because I believe they use the same menu all day round. The majority of our dishes were $16-$18 and I remember we had the beef dip, papaya salad, salmon burger and mushroom burger. I tried a bit of everything and the food was fairly decent. Honestly, I wouldn't mind paying $30 ($18+$8 beer+tax+tip) if it were dinner right by the water in central downtown but keep in mind, this was lunch and we were in and out in less than an hour! I felt like it was pretty overpriced but if I were to come back, I would definitely come during dinner time so we can get our money's worth by staying longer! read more

This place is a hot mess! My review isn't for the food because we never even got to eat. We were seated at the bar as we waited for a table which was no problem. We had drinks served by the bartender Francis who was very nice and extremely competent. That is where the accolades end. Once we were seated we never saw a server again. Came here for some pizza goodness. Smoked salmon pizza - a bit too light on the toppings (where's the cheese?), but the smoked salmon was good. The dill sprinkled on top gave it a really great flavour. Calamari - fluffy, but a bit bland. The texture reminded me of styrofoam packing peanuts for some reason. Great sauces though. The waitress also messed up so we ended up with someone else's Margherita pizza. No wonder why it had no smoked salmon inside. She was gracious enough to let us keep it though (yay!). It was pretty good with tomatoes. The mozzarella really is something. It's almost like cream in terms of consistency. Not sure how to describe it. Worked 11 days at Vancouver Convention Centre and ate here with co workers like 7 times for lunch. The perfect panko crusted all white meat chicken fingers with honey mustard kept us returning. The lamb dip was also good. And surprisingly the pork buns and shrimp dumplings were also pretty good considering this is an Irish pub. A nice restaurant to dine by the water for lunch and happy hour. The restaurant is relatively large and makes a great place to book for lunches with colleagues and for celebrations with a good variety of pub food. It was neat seeing more unique asian influenced dishes like the banh mi and dim sum. I thought I'll be a little more adventurous tried the crispy pork belly banh mi. I find the pork belly a little too dry and there wasn't enough sauce to moisten it up so would probably not order it again and stay with my usual beef dip. They have one of my favourite beef dips here! read more

Great location being in a prime spot downtown, we got a great view from the patio of North Vancouver since this place is located right by Canada place. Anyone who wants to get a patio spot should come early since it's definitely prime seating. Despite having a great view, the service and food are quite subpar. There wasn't a lot of attention from the waitresses and they never really came to check up on anyone. The happy hour menu was nothing special, the drinks are reasonable but the food is really meh. I would definitely not recommend the happy hour nachos since they didn't come with any proper dips and you basically felt like you were eating dry chips. You're better off just getting a burger or something at regular price. The happy hour portions are really small. Overall, this place is conveniently located but there are a ton of other places I would check out before coming here again for anything more than drinks. read more

Post breakfast stroll on a Sunday and they were the only restaurant that didn't have a line. I walked in hoping to get a glass of warm water to heat up my baby's bottle. The hostess/servers were speaking Spanish to each other and looked completely dumbfounded by my request. They didn't bother answering and then one of them spoke to who I assume is a manager walking by, to which she replied no. No "sorry we can only serve customers" or any reason at all, just no and went back to speaking Spanish. Didn't even bother asking if I'd like to dine or anything so I left. Ended up walking to de dutch where despite their long line up gave me a chair and everything I needed to heat up my child's milk. It smelled nice and the views were good so we ended up having brunch there. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else, there's probably a reason no one was there. read more

Super spoiled in terms of "marketing" since they don't have to work hard to get customers through their doors. It's tourist central! And their laziness shows. Everything about this place is subpar. A group of us walked over after a session at the convention center for a few drinks before dinner. We were seated immediately in the middle of this bustling restaurant. It had more of a business-like vibe than a social one. We ordered a mix of beers, wines, and cocktails, but it seemed like our waitress was new or something. She was generally confused, not very friendly, and messed up our order and the way we wanted to pay. All basic asks for a very simple experience here. Their "happy hour" is nothing extravagant or anything worth getting excited about. It's decently priced for being located next to the convention center, but that's pretty much the only upside. That and the fact that it has a convenient location. Overall it was a waste of a "vacation" spot, but hey... not everything is going to be a 4 or 5 star experience! Gotta take risks sometimes. We were the firsts ones in there today everything was cold miss portioned and overly fatty. My beef dip was all fat and grissel. Even the fries were cold. I mentioned it tomorrow server who was great. She told the manager and he came to the table blamed the kitchen. But the manager was the one who brought the food to the table. If the manager does not know what the food should look like and if he can not tell what's wrong with something or the fact everything was cold, maybe he should be working at no frills not a restaurant/pub will not go back. read more

I went there because Mahony & Sons was supposed to be the beer garden sponsor for Vancouver R n R. However, for some reasons, they never set up the beer garden. Instead, they would still take the beer tickets if you show up in the restaurants of two different locations. I think it's a good move for them because people would also order food. But, it's a bit inconvenient for some people after the races. Anyway, I still went! The little walk was good for me after my half marathon. Three of us shared a sample platter. Because of the traffic, the staff was bombarded. The server lady was trying to the best she can. I actually thought both food and service were decent in that situation. Been here many times, went for an impromptu dinner yesterday after accompanying the girlfriend to the Aritzia Warehouse Sale (boyfriend suicide). We've eaten here for Dine Out Vancouver for two years, and also casual group dinners. I ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos again yesterday, they're soft shell which I prefer over hard. It just wasn't as good as it usually is, flavour was off, and the freshness just wasn't there. The great thing about their bar is that they serve kronenberg, it's not that easy to find at most restaurants or pubs. My yam fries on the side were kind of cold too which was disappointing I didn't even eat them. We also ordered the Mahony Platter to share between the 4 of us, dry ribs are way too dry and excessively salty. It was ok, nothing to rave about overall. Having a night to kill before our cruise ship departed, the Husband and I decided to come here for dinner. Well, more like the Husband decided to come here after seeing the word "pub" in one of the local magazines at our hotel but I was glad he did! The decor around the restaurant is super cute and comfortable and everyone we encountered was super friendly. My Husband especially loved the outfits that the waitresses wore, but I digress... We started off with drinks, a Guinness (on tap!) for the Husband and a "Pimms Cup" for me which I guess is a popular liquor in Canada. Hmm... Both were very good and hit the spot. For our appetizer we chose the Baked Brie which was to die for! We were super happy with our choice. It was a huge slice of Brie cheese which has been coated in breadcrumbs, baked in the oven and topped with onions and cranberries. It came with crostini and was amazing! We both loved it. For my entree I got the Mushroom Ravioli with Cheese Sauce and the Husband got the Seafood Chowder. We could both not say enough good things about our meal. His chowder was LOADED with seafood and my raviolis were made in house which if you have read any of my previous reviews, is one of my things. The only negative about the restaurant was that we ordered a cookie made with Guinness beer for dessert but they were already out... At 6pm. It didn't put a damper on our experience though, we just looked at the amazing views of the harbor from our table and ordered another drink! read more

What a huge venue and a perfect location. One of the most beautiful spots in Vancouver, which is right at Coal Harbour. Absolutely gorgeous view, lovely decór, friendly staff and amazing service. Our server a few nights ago, Sahara, was attentive and went out of her way to please us. I so much wanted prawns but the prawns they had came with some not so favourite spices and ingredients, so I asked for a simple dish with garlic sauce, and it was spectacular. When I returned, I was greeted by the lovely and friendly hostess whose name I cannot recall. She was tremendously attentive and was there at my beckoning, so kudos to the spectacular front of house service. Unfortunately, when I asked my server about her opinion on the shrimp linguini, she preached about its quality. I was hesitant to order it for the price point. When it arrived, I was shocked at how unappetizing it looked. The garlic butter bread advertised on the menu was dry and well, small and bland. The shrimp were tiny! It was extremely odd. There was no flavour whatsoever. When my server took her time to visit me and check in with me on my food, I explained to her my disdain. Because I had only taken a bite of the food, and clearly did not enjoy it, I asked politely if I could get another dish. I proposed something simple since the last time I visited a simple dish was made up for me and I was thoroughly pleased. She was extremely hesitant and if I'm honest, a little unhelpful, until she offered to get management. I was very displeased when the manager said he would take the dish back and try and spruce it up for me - I didn't enjoy it so why would I want another rendition of it? It's a regular pub, but what makes it special is their view (so pricey for a regular pub because of the view) I really like the flavor of their ceasar. We had just finished biking the seawall, therefore, opted for something healthier. Overall, we all enjoyed our food and the people watching (as we were seated outside). My boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner today. What a great choice. A little on the pricy side but well worth it in our opinions. It was a beautiful day and we wanted to sit outside by the waterfront. We went during prime dinner hours and only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. They send you a text when your table is ready which we thought was pretty neat so you can wander around while waiting. Our table had a perfect view of the water and mountains. The patio is not overly packed (you're not sardined in there but you're still pretty close to the next table). The servers were great, super nice and fast. They brought our drinks out right away and food arrived fast as well. We started with the calamari appetizer which was salted and cooked to perfection. They give you a side of tzatziki and another side of this sweet and spicy chili like sauce. I loved the sweet and sour like sauce and my boyfriend really enjoyed the tzatziki.
