With no exaggeration, Mai is an artist, a perfectionist!! I am hooked on the hair styling and color services she provides for me. Having waist length hair, I have not had this kind of perfection at any salon. I have referred her many of my friends and co-workers who swear by her talent. I selected this salon based on good reviews from happy clients. I was going to be visiting family in Portland and this salon was close to where I would be staying. Got an appointment within a week of connecting with the shop. Mai was very intuitive about what would work for my hair and I was quite please with the cut. I would recommend this salon. read more

If I could give this salon a 0/5, I would. I have been a customer for many years, and now I will never go back. While Traci was doing my nails, I noticed that they were oddly shaped and asked her multiple times to fix them. She said she would but just kept putting more and more nail polish. I expressed my frustration about the nails and there was absolutely nothing done about it. I then called the next day and asked if I could schedule an appointment to have them fixed, their response was "sometimes when it is busy, we have to rush". I was the only person in that salon getting their nails done. The pictures were taken the night of getting them done Don't ever go here if you want your nails to look nice!!!! read more

If you like looking good and value your time- this is not the salon for you. I went for the first time since it's close to my house. She took four hours to do my hair, completely fried and damaged it, it has been breaking off and I just had to get it cut short to salvage it and it was at the center of my back. She thinned out my hair and literally said, "don't panic, but look" when showing me all the hair on the floor. She gave me a free deep conditioning and told me to not put heat on my hair for seven days, which tells you the damage she created when having me sit with color on my hair for two hours. The final blow was when she tinted my eyebrows, she decided to do hers at the same time. Super unprofessional. Go anywhere else. Super clips, Walmart salons. All would be a better choice. read more

Went in for a manicure with my mom. The place was clean and inviting but my gel manicure was a disaster. Got home and discovered a bubble of wet polish on one nail. Went back and they redid that nail but less than 48 hrs after my manicure other nails started peeling and the polish on my thumb came off in a big chuck that was still wet underneath. Would not recommend. read more

Mai has been doing not only my hair, but my daughters for several years now. Every time she takes care to do exactly what we want both by showing her pictures and detailing the colors we want in our hair etc. Her haircut technique and expertise in coloring really has impressed me. She cuts and colors hair with confidence which is important to me. Her mother helps her out in the shop and does a Phenomenal job of shampooing that always includes scalp massage and shoulder massage. Mai is a wonderful example of someone going after their dreams by being very good at what she does and for being an entrepreneur who has become successful because she works hard and really takes pride and care in her clients..or anyone who comes into her shop. It's wonderful to see Mai work with her fellow employees and mother ..it's a family and you can tell the respect she has for her staff. Her prices are fair especially in this ever increasing high cost of living ...and I think we can all appreciate that. Maybe it is the heat but, I found the shellac pedicure so slow. I told the owner I have to be somewhere else soon. she was rude and said that I should allow 1.5 hours. She kept arguing and then other clients screamed at me. I was surprised that when a lady who brought a screaming baby in claimed she wanted to relax, threatened to physically remove me and pay my bill. No one there even defended me. I ended up having to leave due to the stress being there before getting nails dry and no discount was offered me. I don't think I will return. I felt the service was not very good. customers are always right. I tried to tell her that I was not in a huge hurry and she only apologized when I was going out the door. I also think its odd that a client with a screaming toddler who screamed for over half my appointment had the nerve to say I am ruining her time of rest and physically threatened me. This is one of the worst pedicure experiences I have ever had. I tried to stay calm and people constantly screamed at me. thank goodness I went to get a massage after. I don't really think i will return read more
