I had a gift certificate to use and wanted to give Dosha salon a shot- and I will definitely be back. I really enjoyed getting my hair done. I was there for a good two hours, and I guess I have too much hair and was charged extra for more dye - I think I paid an extra $24 (ish) cause she had to really get my grays out. My stylist was Megan W. and she really made me feel at ease with communication on the process and was so friendly. Very professional and she did a great (great) job. I let her do what she thought needed to be done and did not disappoint! Lots of compliments! I got it done over a month ago and still looks great! I already scheduled another appointment for the beginning of the year and can't wait to see what she can come up with! I have been here before for a massage and was just as relaxing. I don't really like leaving negative reviews, but I honestly would not recommend this place to my friends or family, or anyone really. To be fair, I've only been here once and received a manicure. I've never had any other services done here. I'll start with the pros. I made an appointment for two shellac manicures for my sister and I. When we arrived, they had everything set up and ready, and were pretty much just sitting there waiting for us. They're very prompt and timely. My nail tech was also very focused and took her time, to the point that my manicure was nearly two hours long. Now for the cons, you'd think that my manicure would be perfect if it took that long, but it wasn't even close. I already had dip powder on my nails so she had to remove that first. She proceeded to file them down before soaking them in acetone/alcohol. She started to file my nail down but was also filing my skin at the same time. She kept on filing and eventually broke skin (scab on my pinky as pictured). That definitely didn't feel great when she applied the acetone/alcohol soak. Also, the application of the shellac was not even. She did two layers whereas most places I've been to do three. Honestly, I am just very disappointed for the price I paid. They charged me $15 for the dip powder removal (which is outrageous! I've never been charged more than $5 for this) and $35 for the shellac manicure (which is usually ~$25 at most other salons). This is supposed to be a higher end salon so I just expected a better experience. Also, my sister's shellac manicure started to lift after 3 days. I only came here because I had a gift certificate. I left work early drove through rush hour traffic only to be told my stylist called out sick. The check in process is an iPad off to the side that I didn't even notice at first. When my name didn't show on the ipad there was no one to ask. I had to catch someone finishing with another client only to find out my appointment wasn't going to happen. I've been going to Dosha now for about four years for cuts and color, and every time, my service with my stylist is spot-on. I see Rachel Collins, who is amazing. She's an expert at color, especially capturing the depth and tone of reds, and at highlights and lowlights. My cuts are also exactly as I like them - super clean and crisp. I always look forward to my time in the chair with Rachel because she's so lovely, both in conversation and in her upbeat energy. Her head/neck massages at the bowl are also super relaxing. Finally, if you're lucky you'll hear her quietly humming or singing along to the music sometimes as she works, and it will make you want to join in. I leave my appointments with her both relaxed and renewed, with a lighter heart and a great cut & color. read more

I should have heeded the reviews! The only reason I came to this place for a haircut was because my other two stylists were booked for months. I should have just waited. The fact that Dosha had an opening the day after I called should have been a red flag. Why did I go anyway??? First of all, there are many salons in the Portland metro with far better ambience and amenities. When the stylist was shampooing me, the ceiling lights blinded me because they were so bright. They also brought me a tiny paper cup of tea instead of a whole drink, which is what you get literally everywhere else. Small complaints, though. I don't care about that kind of stuff if the stylists are talented. Unfortunately, I'm deeply unhappy with my cut. I asked the appointment setter to find me someone experienced with curly hair and she didn't. Juliana didn't seem to have the slightest clue how to blend curls - she cut my hair like it was straight. And now I have this square helmet of a bob that's impossible to style and makes me look like I had to cut gum out of my hair or something. I provided a reference photo and everything. An experienced stylist would have done it right. And I knew things were going wrong, because she rushed through it. Whole appointment lasted about 30 minutes from shampoo to finish. I've had trims that were more carefully executed. She also didn't dry me all the way because she knew it was going to be jacked up. And I just smiled and said it was cute because I didn't want to cry in public. Oh dear god, do not come to Dosha Clackamas. Trust the reviews. I'll be in hats for the next 6 months. read more

I scheduled a consultation and then appointment with Chelsea and she was amazing every step of the way. First she blocked out 4 hours for me, devised a plan and put real care and consideration into what she was doing. She actually cared! And I wasn't a regular client, I met her during the consultation. The results were phenomenal, I LOVE my hair color it was exactly what I was going for and she was able to do it quickly, I think I was in and out in under 90 minutes. I submitted an online appointment request and received an e-mail response stating they were reviewing and would get back with me. I never heard from anyone to confirm my request so I called to make my appointment. Fortunately, I was able to get an appointment the next morning. I arrived early for my appointment the next morning doors were locked and the lights were off. My appointment time came and still no lights or unlocked door. 10 minutes after my appointment time we had lights and an unlocked door. 20 minutes later (30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time) I was finally seated. My wife also attempted to make an online appointment. She received a confirmation of her appointment for the requested date and time. Despite having an e-mail confirming the date and time, Dosha attempted to confirm her appointment for the wrong date and they were unable to fit her in at the requested time. This was not a huge issue since they found a spot for her on the date requested. However, I am not sure I will be using their online system anytime soon as based on my experience it appears as though they have some issues to work correct. read more

I just started going to Jessica this summer for blonde balayage and she's amazing with color!! I came in originally with a pretty bad hair coloring and she completely fixed it at our FIRST session. The staff was friendly and nice. I had a good time and felt relaxed while my nails were done, which is the whole reason why I went in. Everything was clean and the tea was hot. Two stars deducted for two reasons: first, it's only been one day and the shellac is already starting to come off. Second, in all honesty, the manicure itself looks like something I could've done had I really, really tried. From far away, it looks great. Up close, the french-tip line is sloppy in spots. So I went to Dosha on Saturday (I made an appointment she was over 20 minutes late) I told the stylist that I wanted to clean up my hair because I had just taken out my hair extensions I gave her a picture of what I wanted she said no problem . She then proceeded to cut off at least 3 inches that did not need to come off I wanted to be able to curl it and at the end she could not even do it ! She gave me a short Paige Boy style Bob and asked if I like it ! What are you supposed to say it nothing like what I wanted! I left paying of $60.00 for a top stylist who didn't even cut my hair close to what I wanted. After the shock was over I then called the manager granted it's Sunday morning I have still not hear a word !! Beware of this place ! I came here to get a shellac manicure (like I always get at another salon) and the girl I got was horrible. Not professional, complained, and didn't make conversation what so ever. She didn't trim my cuticles or buff the top of my nails like you're suppose to. When she finished my nails they were lumpy, uneven in color, and just left me in a bad mood. DO NOT GO HERE!! When you think Dosha, you think high end, spendy but service is worth while.. Well think again!! The "hair stylists" are fresh out of school..I was looking for a new stylist, mine moved away...I had a simple 2 color weave done, paid $150, and the whole half of the back of my head was skipped.. Several pieces of dyed hair had spots from the colors being mixed..When I went back to have it corrected, the stylist didn't show and the manager proceeded to tell me there have been multiple issues with the stylist. Is that the kind of stylists Dosha want to represent the company? The manager was going to make me pay extra to have corrections done with another stylist..REALLY! There was a supposed "master stylist" in the salon "Joe" was there for the conversation w the manager. He told me he trained the stylist, in school, admitted she did a shitty job and rudely said he would charge me $70 to correct my hair. Not only was my issue disregarded but I was treated like a piece of shit. Great customer service.. From someone who has been having a weave for 20 years, please don't make the same mistake I did by going to a supposed "high end" salon and having your hair incorrectly done!! read more

Jill definitely knows what she's doing. I haven't gotten my hair colored & styled since I was about ten years old, so I was a little nervous going to a high end salon. She was extremely friendly, but not too in your business. I don't know a lot about hair, but I've seen a lot of girls doing red with black underneath and I've always loved that style. I suggested it, and Jill actually recommended something different, which I think worked out even better, as it now looks like more of a unique ombré. I asked for a simple cut above my shoulders, I asked for a straight cut all the way around. I left feeling pretty defeated as the hairdresser completely butchered my cut. The length is inconsistent, chopped shorter or longer in random places making the ends of my hair completely uneven. The cuts don't even look intentional so I can't play it off like I asked for layers or an a-line. The front section of hair is about an inch and a half longer than the rest. Overall is about 2 inches longer than what I even asked for (and showed her twice) Definitely never going back to dosha. Probably could have done a better job cutting my hair in my bathroom with kids scissors. I strongly urge anyone to support smaller salons with a higher standard. I'm pretty disappointed about my experience here at the Clackamas salon. This is my 4th time coming to their various locations. For Xmas I was given a $125 certificate to get my hair did! To sum it up quickly & spare all the details that are making me mad again. . I had to come back after stylist decided I would need more time so went back on New Years Eve @ 1pm. She said it would take just a few hours to color my hair. 5 1/2 hrs later and a complete opposite of my desired look of blonde. . I'll post pics for you to see,I was told it was $210!!!! So I had to spend $85 extra of my own cash to add to my $125 gift wasted my ENTIRE day and evening of New Years, was frowned upon after only leaving $1250 tip and that was because it was every last dollar to my name & she didn't even style it for me! My hair is now dark brown rather chunky highlights of blonde. Very disappointed & will never come to Doesha again. Sadly way tooooo expensive for the quality of service they provide. They've damaged my hair over and over again and I kept thinking they would know how to get it right the next time. This was one the most expensive ($65 + $15 tip) but also the absolute *worst* hair cut I've ever had. After a busy and stressful few months, I was at the mall and decided to treat myself to a high end cut. The stylist they assigned me to was not very friendly to start, but I just figured "whatever." I was specific about how much I wanted cut off and how I wanted my bangs to look. What I got was no more than a trim and I walked out of there looking basically the same as before. She spent more time blow drying my hair than she did cutting it (though the cut was really just a few scissor snips and she didn't even take off as much length as I asked). Actually, in general I say avoid Dosha because they hire graduates from Aveda Institute and I've had really poor luck there as well. Went in last week after making an appointment over the phone. when i get there, they tell me i will not be able to get my hiarcut because i have my 5 year old with me. i dont remember anyone telling me this when i made the appt. my son had gone in with me two months prior, no problem. he sat there and played video games for the hour and behaved himself. i even asked if he could sit next to me and they turned that down. when i called them after they had told me this rule has been in place for years and that it is on there website, which i did not see when i checked. this is absolute discrimination! basically if you are a single parent you cannot get your haircut? and made to feel bad about this. Espcially at the mall where families go all the time. i understand if this was a full day trip, but not a 45-1 hour hair cut! DONT GO HERE! read more

I had my good friends hair done for her wedding...the stylist assured us the curls would stay...she said she would say them a lot, she sprayed the hair twice...spent 20 mins total on her hair and within 2 hours the curls were gone...the customer service rep called when I complained that I had to redo her hair on her wedding day which added additional stress to the bride, which I was trying to avoid, making us 30 mins late to start the wedding events, gave my friend a discount on a future service...she won't be going back there and for the cost of her hair to fall out I wish we had gone somewhere else...seriously disappointed with the customer service and the quality of service read more

I have been going to Dosha in Clackamas for several years for special occasion hair styles. Yesterday my seven year old and I were between 11 and 12 minutes late to our appt. because I had the time wrong. The manager, Itzel Munoz, informed me in a very hostile way of the 15 minute grace period (which I arrived under), and told me that since my daughter (who has beautiful, long blonde hair) "doesn't have much hair" the stylist could still style my daughters hair (again, we were under the 15 minute grace period so no justification, especially an insulting one, was needed). There is a tactful way to explain a policy that does not involve insulting a client or having a hostile demeanor- especially when the policy wasn't even broken! I completely understand that stylists need to stick to a schedule, but almost every hair appointment I have ever had involves me waiting at least 15 minutes to be seen. The way in which this manager handled a hair appointment that only lasted 20 minutes was just unbelievably rude to me and I would not recommend this salon. If I hadn't had an appointment for pictures for my daughter I would have left immediately but I know now to never go there again. read more
