First time trying this place. So hard to find good Asian food in the area. I liked that they have a variety of Asian dishes. This was a takeout order but there were many tables with dinners. They've tried to spruce up the place but could use more. The spring rolls were very good. Not so sure about the sauce that came with them. Didn't seem to have much flavor. Mom and I prefer to use Jezabell sauce that we make. Disappointed in the Thai pineapple fried rice. Not much flavor and could use more variety of veggies and more pineapple. There was plenty of chicken in it though. Mom's chop suey with chicken was pretty good. Lots of veggies and chicken. the fried rice had too much soy. I'd be willing to give it another try with different dishes. read more

Was at Camp Grayling and needed to order quick takeout because I wanted good, nourishing food instead of pizza or Taco Bell lol. The order placing was super easy with a clear menu online, no hold time on the phone. The food was ready for pickup within 20 minutes. The restaurant was small and cute. We didn't dine in but walked in to pick up. The waitstaff were friendly. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious!! We got N3, N4, and N9 with spring rolls. All amazing and exactly what I was looking for! Will definitely order again sometime! read more

I dined here over a year ago and wanted to return again. The seats are uncomfortable, but the restaurant is clean. I ordered crab Rangoons and General Chicken extra spicy. My friend ordered spicy noodles. The chicken was fried in a batter, actually delicious. I won't order fried rice as a side again because it was the same soy sauced rice with no flavor. The spicy noodles had not much movement, kind of clumpy. Crab Rangoons were tasty but a tad over cooked. Restaurants seem so hiked up on price anymore and even though we both had water the bill was $40. Since I am a Thai Chef, I would rather cook at home. Mai Mai is still a good option for a restaurant but I do think they could improve some. The waitress was nice but she couldn't wait on everyone at once. Still, I sure would like to see this restaurant make it. read more

The food was excellent. The service was great always good service every time I've been there.

The food was decent. Price wise it's about the average of any other Asian cuisine. We ordered ahead and went for pickup. It took over 40 minutes from the time we ordered to the time they finally brought it out after we arrived. Most Asian places where I live are 20 minutes from ordering to pick up. They only had one server to man the whole place. Poor gal was running around crazy. Between manning the pick up orders and the dining room she was all over the place. read more

We had the drunken noodles and the pad see ew. Both dishes were incredible. We also tried the egg drop soup ( not your standard) and a large bowl of noodle soup. Both soups were delicious. The jasmine tea tasted like spring. The ambiance is high end and the service was very good. We will definitely return. read more

We live in Northern Michigan and this is the best Asian food we have found up here. The place is small but clean. The waitstaff are great and the owner, Jacko, remembers you after the second visit. The food is an Asian fusion of Chinese, Thai and Korean with what I think is a Hmong flair. Most dishes aren't spicy, but if you ask for extra spicy, be prepared! We eat here at least twice a month and often more. I highly recommend it. read more

The food is good, when they're open... Back in the day when it was China West there was a certain amount of consistency in the place always being open, all the time. Now that the kids own it they don't have the same sense of work ethic or something that I can't quite put my finger on, but regardless, I drive by regularly and would swing in to eat there more often but 4 out of 5 times in the past month they have been closed. I really wanted to love this place I really did. Grayling is a town whose heyday was around the early 1900s. Half the downtown is empty and the only real hotel is a Ramada. So kudos for someone opening up an Asian restaurant here. The interior is so bland it's actually hard to describe. This place is a total rip off on top of having a bad service and unsafe food. We ordered 3 different entries. All 3 were missing race. I ordered mushrooms and got one slice of a cut off Mushroom. We paid $60 $20 for each entree. John tray yet were ripped off on every part of it. Absolutely. Terrible, we'll never, ever give them business again. Need this place shut down. read more

As soon as I walked into this fine establishment, I was greeted by a very friendly waitress and delectably minimalistic Asian-inspired decor. The service was fast and timely. I ordered an array of dishes, all of which were wonderfully seasoned and fantastically flavorful. I've visited a large number of Asian food restaurants around this world, and this is perhaps one of the best I have eaten at. Me giving this place a 3 is very generous. I have been dying for some really good Chinese food since I got up here. This is not the only Chinese restaurant that has disappointed me, they all have. I love Mai Mai's! I always try to stop whenever I head up north. Their Chinese fried rice is my favorite.

The food we ordered tasted good, however - the waitress was EXTREMELY RUDE. She was waiting on every table that had sat down after us, when she finally came to take our order everything was great until my husband asked if he could substitute the noodles for rice on a dish; instead of directing us to a similar meal she said 'you will have to order a rice meal, we don't do substitutes' (understandable), we were from out of town and don't know the menu so he said 'I won't get the things I want in the meal then', she just stood there looking at us. So then he said I'll just eat off of her plate then and she seemed irritated and walked off. So I asked the other waitress if there was a way to substitute and she went in the back and came back to inform us that if he ordered a different meal it would be the same thing. So we thanked her and ordered it. The original waitress who took our order didn't come back at all. She was actually in the back talking crap when the other waitress went to place my husbands order. I really didn't see what we did wrong to offend her, then when our food was being brought out I believe a cook brought it to us - he was friendly. Then the waitress who placed my husbands order (who wasn't our waitress) asked if everything was good. She also brought us our bill. I'm not sure if the Asian waitress was having a bad day or what was going on but she had horrible customer service skills and I would have given this place five stars but due to her poor attitude, again for no reason at all, I'm giving this restaurant 1 star. I believe that restaurants need to maintain a friendly customer service attitude no matter what kind of day you're having. We did nothing to offend her, we weren't rude to her, she was just being mean for no reason at all. I normally don't write reviews. If you do go to this place I suggest carry out so you don't have to deal with her shitty attitude. Place was clean, food was good, the Asian waitress was RUDE. I'm saying Asian not because I'm racist (I need to clarify that this day and age *rolling eyes) but because there were only two waitresses when we went one Asian and one Caucasian. I AM NOT RACIST. Our original waitress didn't even come back to check on us also didn't bring our soup that comes with the order with dine in because she had a bad attitude and was mad for whatever reason. read more
