I went for a pedicure with my daughter for Mother's Day and got the #3 option that included a "luxurious extended massage"...however NEITHER of us got anything remotely close to a massage and the whole pedicure took 15 minutes. We talked to the front desk associate and she said "I will talk to my manager" and seemed hurried to take our cash and get us out the door. $50 is extremely steep for a 15 minute service....we will not be back. Horrible experience! I've gone to this place a few times and it's OK. If you want to get in and out quickly and don't expect a lot. However, I went and had gel polish taken off. They got out a electric tool, and she used it on my nail to get the gel off, but had me soaking my fingers in acetone. My nails are destroyed. And my fingertips are really rough. I like this place because it's close to my house and they are quick. Some of the nail techs are great - others are meh. But forget about keeping appointment times. It's very frustrating. They should just not make appointments since they never bother to keep them. So if you go - it's hit or miss - always be prepared to wait even if you've made an appointment. read more

The manicurist didn't push back my cuticles even though they needed it. She didn't file them. If all you want is polish slapped on your nails, this is the place. When I said I wasn't happy, they really couldn't have cared less because my daughter had already paid and tipped. I have never been more disappointed than my last visit here. I have been a client for over 3 years and I was treated like I didn't know what I was talking about when I was explaining what I would like for my nail color. I ended up with something that was the total opposite of what I wanted. It was explained to me that this was the best they could do. This is the first time I have ever felt like this and I was so disappointed when I left. I tell all of my patients in the area to go there because it is usually so good. i think if they would have just listened more intently they would have understood but it was as if they felt like I was telling them what to do and they didn't try to help just made me feel like I was the problem and that they "knew what they were doing" I think they do a great job typically but the listening and trying to understand part was lacking. I felt like they were annoyed and just kept talking about me while I was sitting there. The nails themselves came out ok, just as I said not what I came in for color wise. It's the rare mani/pedi place that's so fantastic that the experience is as good as the result. While it feels good to get pampered, you don't often get a WOW experience like I had at Mai Spa & Nails. First, their COVID protocols are fantastic and include mandatory mask wearing, temperature checks, sanitizing between customers, highly visible bottles of hand sanitizers, shields between the manicurist and customer and contact tracing. A doctor's office could take notes on well they handle COVID practices. Needless to say, the salon is immaculate which is always important at a nail salon. Staff welcomes everyone like a VIP and invites you to choose from almost 2,000 colors, the most extensive array of hues I've seen in one spa. Dips, gels, regular polish, I think they also do acrylic nails (but there's no toxic odor). My girlfriend got the works including a stone massage during her pedi and extra massage on keyboard-stressed hands. Mai Spa and Nails is top-notch. read more

I have been a customer for 3 years and have seen people unhappy and customer blamed but this is my first personal experience. I asked for oval tips... literally leaving with round circle nails shorter than my actual nail headed to a really special event for me- which I told them. When I asked to speak with Kim, the owner, she told me it was what I asked for- who would ever ask for this. She didn't give me the time of day and I have never complained before. Actually I was told to walk up to Kim by the front desk girl because Kim was ignoring me and the front desk girl knew it was not ok. I was willing to pay I just wanted to get it fixed. I took it upon myself to book with Kim the next day to get a new set. The next day in didn't get into Kim's chair until 11:20 when my apt was for 11:00. I finally got in Kim's chair and she was silent, never acknowledged me or that I was unsatisfied. She just started removing my nails and I got some dirty looks from the gentleman next to her. I was the first to bring up the situation and she continued to tell me it was my fault and she "didnt have to fix this for me". It actually felt like she was trying to go on my skin with the drill tool?? Totally unprofessional, I'm someone who never complains or writes reviews, I literally had to sign in to make this review. This was upsetting!! Especially for being more pricey than other nail places. Kim did a good job and I did get what I originally wanted, painfully. She did not charge me for the redo either, when I was going to be charged originally. What I got vs what I wanted in pics. I would believe the other similar reviews and take your business elsewhere, they have lost a 3 year customer for handling the situation poorly. This was totally avoidable. Side note- if you do go, do not use their ATM. It has kept money and charged my card before. I have heard this has happened to others and they only accept cash. read more

Made an appointment for a manicure for $45. First, I would say that the place IS clean. I have gotten dip manicures monthly for years and am very familiar with the process. First time at Mai Spa & Nails. I requested a dip manicure with chrome knowing there would be an up-charge. Nail tech cut me multiple times unapologetically but did use alcohol each time I was cut so she knew this happened. Tech spent a long time shaping/ reshaping though no need and I did not request. Other comments stated the same. Tech broke ONE nail and put ONE tip on. When I went to pay I was told it was $70 for the manicure. I questioned it and the receptionist said it was because I had a "full set" of tips which was $10 extra. I explained there was only ONE tip. The tip has a large divot in it where it meets my natural nail. She went back and consulted with the tech and stated it was $65 instead. Broke down the cost $45 for nails, $10 for chrome, $5 for "extra reshaping" and $5 for extra long natural nails". WHAT? I have no problem paying for a service but the add ons charged before consulting with the customer is not good business practice. I called and spoke with the owner who explained a different fee structure, told me I was not cut multiple times and that I was trying to get a free service. That was not the case, I had asked for the fee structure which was different that the tech told me, the receptionist told me and the owner as well. She also told me I called and swore which I did not do and she hung up on me. Something shady with this place that ONLY accepts cash and becomes defensive and volatile when customers question fee structures, being cut and a shabby nail tip. I will not return and would recommend anyone going here being informed customers prior to getting a service. read more
