Giving three stars as the service was very attentive and polite The building looks like a worn down old school club from twenty years ago that hadn't had any maintenance walked in anyway as we were starving from a tournament. The ambiance carries true into the restaurant itself. It's dark and dank with old gross carpet there is boxes and curtains trying to hide supplies in a good amount of the areas. Good service and drinks. I ordered the Kung Pao Celery which held up to its name. It had a generous amount of elegantly chopped celery. Overall, a nice dish...for a vegetarian. It wasn't even busy and my wife finished her meal before my sushi came out. I than asked for it to go and they basically threw the sushi in a container and the sushi fell apart. Spicy Salmon and Spicy Yellowtail had so much spicy mayo on it you couldn't taste the sushi. No apologies, no discount! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves! read more

Mai Tai's is a popular watering hole and gathering place in Leominster. I can't say I loved the appetizers. They were meah as far as I was concerned. Must try the entrees to see if my opinion improves. Very friendly staff and nice surrounding. They offer sushi, but there was no one sitting at the sushi bar on a crowded Friday night. That being the case I would not be inclined to try their sushi. read more

On my birthday right after this place opened me and my sister were at the nail place next door. We were trying to figure out somewhere to eat and the mail tech we had told us we had to try the place next door (mai tais). We went there after getting our nails done. The service was very quick and the food was delicious. They have awesome sushi and they have the platters of sushi. The place seemed very hip as well and the waitress we had was great. When we went there since it was shortly after they opened there weren't many customers but now when I drive by and see the parking lot completely full I'm not surprised at all. This place is ok. The parking lot is full of pot holes and the bar area is extremely dark to the point of feeling weird. The Mai Tai here is basic. I prefer Dragon 88 by far. The Singapore Noodles are what you'd get anywhere else. I will say the bartender was very attentive. All and all the food isn't that bad. The problem is a combination of the portions and price. If your going to charge me for high end grub, then I want some juice in my teriyaki. I want crisp eggrolls, and crisp PAN FRIED dumplings. Not some twice cooked, small portion of either, dried or greasy misery. 4 beef teriyaki $12 4 chicken teriyaki $12 6 Peking dumpling $10 Gouge much? 4 pieces is a small. Dumplings are a little steep. I mean flour, pork and cabbage. You Don't really get any cheaper than those ingredients. 8 crab Rangoon $7 2 eggroll $6 Under filled box of beef lo mein $10 Orange chicken $15 Pretty standard pricing here. Fill up the dam boxes though! The egg rolls, orange chicken and dumplings were decent, but each with their own faults. Most of it boils down to personal preference i guess. I preffer shredded napa, and generous pork in my eggrolls. They lean more toward spring roll filling in an eggroll wrapper. The dumplings lacked flavor and the wrapper was more pasta like. The orange chicken lacked... orange. Unfortunately both the chicken and beef teriyaki had a gritty coating that was off putting. The crab Rangoon was good. The lo mein was average. They use a round noodle, I prefer flatter noodles but it wasn't to greasy and there was a decent amount of meat and vegetables. Their duck sauce is that fluorescent crap you get in all the dives, it's not homemade plum sauce like the real restaurants serve. Bottom line. I will not return. read more

I went here since the recent update. Our waitress Grace was awesome as she expertly navigated multiple tables. She also was very conscientious of an allergy at my table. She went and spoke with the cooks to ensure the allergen was known. The sashimi was fresh with an amazing texture and quality. Although the salmon pieces were much bigger than the tuna pieces...wasn't sure why but didn't want to complain cause it tasted fine. I enjoyed the food and found the prices reasonable. Had a gift certificate so gave it a try. Took 2 seats at the bar and initially service was not attentive. Waited 10 minutes at a not busy bar, until one of the two bartenders took our drink order. Couldn't watch Bruins game because their streaming service was only working on 2 TVs. Mai tai was good. Ordered 2 maki rolls which were good. Ordered an appetizer and a meal to share and strangely enough, the meal didn't come with even white rice (cost 30 cents maybe??) and I was surprised because have you ever ordered any Asian meal that doesn't even come with a scoop of white rice? We had to order rice to come with it. Summary mai tai good, food was ok, service ok, cost ok would I go again? I can't say that I would recommend this place. Not that it's bad, it's just an odd atmosphere. I have lived In this area for almost 20 years now and have driven by this place a million and one times and never wanted to stop in. From the outside it's doesn't look inviting. Big difference on the inside. It's actually nicely remodeled. One side has all the tables. You have a raw bar area in back and then the circular bar area. I personally didn't enjoy it for a few reasons. 1. Very pricey 2. Extremely loud!! Speakers are not well placed. I had one literally behind my head and couldn't even hear the people I was sitting next to. 3. They are confused on what they are. Are you a hip hop club with light up ice cubes in my drink or are you a family sushi restaurant?! 4. Food was ok. Nothing I will be craving to go back for. 5. Bartenders were more interested in helping the younger "hip hoppers" with the light up drinks and playing the music rather than taking our food orders. Club or restaurant, you can decide. Pathetic. My gf and I showed up around 700pm on a Friday kinda busy. We took a seat no one else would take, okay whatever cool. Waitress takes our drink orders. I asked for something sweet in the realm of a mai tai. Came back and it was okay. My gf got a lemon drop she enjoyed. Cool. Then we ordered some sushi, an hour later never received it. Our food was decent at best. We had to watch our waitress talking and walking around and she kept forgetting our shit. If I was paying she would've gotten a $2 tip on a $60 bill. Gross drinks, basic food, longest wait for food I've ever seen in my life to the point where we actually had to cancel our sushi order. Don't go here unless you just wanna get some subpar food and drink. Slingawhore 2.0 is all it really is. F off I'm going anywhere else next time. I love the chicken teriyaki here, but I'll never go back. I work right down the street and order take out once in a while. I've probably ordered from here about 6 or 8 times since they opened. I think that I'm the 1st customer here when I order for pickup just before noon. Sometimes the chicken teriyaki is the best I've ever had, sometimes, 3 times now, it's so dried out and over cooked it's not edible, as was the case today. I was going to call and complain, if fact I dialed the phone number and then hung up, I don't like being a complainer, instead I'm never going back. I paid $15.95 for lunch and some of it wasn't even edible. If they let leftover food from the night before, all dried out and over heated or over cooked go out of there, I'm never going back! read more
